Yes, yes all your videos make a difference. You are the only group covering so many aspects of our industry. Thank you for that. I’m an esthetician/nail tech for going on 22yrs. The days of pink and white only have changed. Your product is by far the best gel system going. All of you hard work and online content is needed and appropriated.
I've learned more watching TH-cam than I did in school. They truly just taught how to pass state boards. LOTS of practice is the only way to perfect something. Definitely practicing different things on ourselves is invaluable. 💕
YT is a great teacher because not only can you choose who to watch but you can hit the rewind button as often as it takes! No matter if it's nails or crafts or mechanics, we need to keep learning.
Literally had this exact conversation with my daughter who I am training now. I’ve been in the industry for over 20 years and I explained how I learned.... fly across the country to take a class ask a question see it once .. go in the salon work like a crazy person hoping I was doing it right! Then waiting for the next time I could find another “good” class to learn another good step! Heck we didn’t even have cell phones to take pictures or videos!!! My daughter has social media as well as me right next to her!!!! In 2 months she is better than I was 5 years into the business!!! But she is putting the time in.. that’s the 🔑 key dedication and practice!!! Love you guys keep it up!!! EVERY THING YOU DO IS AWESOME!! #teamyn
I've been watching utube nail vids for 3 yrs solid everyday I first started with gel nails and used my own nails to practise on then went to friends and family, I've only been doing acrylic nails since June last yr and it's all down to online education I've learnt so much from yourselfs and many other great nail techs so I'm totally self taught and proud I've come so far I'm extremely passionate in nails and have decided to go into it full time from home x
I’ve learned a ridiculous amount of stuff on TH-cam! If I ever go into any type of salon or spa, people pounce on my nails. The following conversation ensues: “Holy crap! Who does your nails/What salon do you go to? They’re so cool” “I do them myself! Thank you.” “When is your next appointment?” “I’m not licensed, I’m self-taught via TH-cam.” I love that conversation. Thank you for all you share with us.
I am living proof I finished beauty school in 1989 and never really worked in the industry. I just did friends and fam. Mostly nails. But 3 yrs ago I decided I wanted to get back into industry after seeing how much it had grown and it would give me the opportunity to do art on tiny canvases as I love to do. But I was not prepared for HOW MUCH there was to learn. I had no MOBEY for school again or any classes so I relied on TH-cam. Well I’m happy to say that I am a successful sul tech/artist in a Solon with my own business. I learned everytjing from TH-cam. Especially watching you guys and a few others that have been so very helpful. I wouldn’t be were I am today if not fir youtube and all you guys. So thank you and I love you all. God bless you guys and keep it coming. ❤️❤️😘😘
I haven't gone to school and I don't know if I will, right now I'm just focusing on learning Nails on myself. I've only been doing it about 4 and a half months and it's unbelievable how much I have improved because of channels like yours, nail Career Education, Dorota Palicka, Naio Nails, etc. The way you format and edit your videos makes them so pleasurable to watch. All your time and effort to learn editing was so worth it, Habib.
I'm so passionate about this topic. I've learned 100% from TH-cam only. I did my own nails (gel extensions and art) for about a year. After I stopped having lifting and cutting myself I started doing all my friends because they prefer me over the shoddy salons in our area. That is mind blowing to me!! So yes for TH-cam!
I moved to another state and could not find a great nail tech. So I started watching nail videos. YN videos is what I stuck with watching and do my daughter's and my nails. I love the videos and products.
I went to Cos school to get my Master of Cos, nail tech wasn't offered in my area, and they told me I was very advanced and they weren't going to be able to teach me much on nails!! They were right! I ended up teaching THEM because I had watched YN and a couple other nail education channels here on TH-cam and had learned on my own! I did school all day to learn hair, so I could pass for my Master of Cos, but at night I was all TH-cam!! I learn more from YN videos than I did at school for over $16,000. in student debt!! Thank you Young Nails!!!
Are TH-cam Nail Education Videos Enough? Most definitely. And practice, practice, practice. I've been doing nails for 20 years and I watch TH-cam daily. Your always learning something from others.
I personally think it is, videos on nail techniques on TH-cam has helped me understand in a more hands-on approach. There are so many nail educators out there that share what I didn't learn in school 😳
How is your videos are sooooo helpful like that? Seriously everything I wonder every question from technic to other questions in my head i find the answers in your channel! Can’t thank you enough for your eradication! ✨✨✨✨🤍
I am at the end of my nail course and I have LITERALLY learned how to actually do acrylic nails from watching you guys and not through my course!! Can't thank you guys enough for all the vids!!
You I think the TH-cam videos are essential, not only for beginners but for the professional as well. I love watching them to brush up my skills and learn new ones
I've been watching TH-cam nail videos for a few years trying to learn how to do it on my own and just enjoying watching the process. I have to say, I've learned more from YN content than all the other videos combined. Within a few months of watching your videos I've felt comfortable enough (and inspired) to do them on my own. It's taking me several hours to do a full set of gel nails with forms but they've come out amazing!!! Thank you Young Nails!!!
I love the "work on yourself". I am a DIY'er and I absolutely agree with that statement; and any DIY'er knows you cannot learn everything on youtube but I think I have learned the basics in the 4 years just watching techs or DIY'ers.
The difference with you guys and other youtube video's is that you actually show everything in real time, where as most nail tutorials speed everything up and cut things out especially filing the nails which to me is probably one of the most important parts to learn. you show the mistakes and how to correct them and also reassure your viewers that is ok to muck up sometimes, its normal and everyone does it. i love everything about [NY] as you guys totally keep it real. just the other day i learned when to pinch gel and now know that its 9 sec of curing, i haven't learned that from any other nail channel, you explain everything as you go along and show how the nails look from all angles which is great for everyone x
Yes. You can learn from TH-cam videos as long as you practice. This is called muscle memory. According to physiotherapists , it takes 12 weeks of daily repetition in order to build that muscle memory.
I love watching your video's! I'm from UK so we don't need a license. I did a 5 day course, they showed you how to do acrylic and gel. Then we had to go practice and practice and send evidence of our work. I watch TH-cam all the time for tips and different techniques. Keep up the good work.
I 100% learned to do nails on TH-cam. Polygel, gel, apres method, tips, sculpting, nail foil, encapsulation, decals, gem art, maintenance, fills, repairs, removals, revisions, e-filing, sanitation, everything. I still have so much to learn and perfect, but my sets stay on for a month plus, no lifting, no breaking, no missing stones, no missing nails, and I'm so proud of that. I don't work in acrylic yet because my space doesn't have the right ventilation to do it safely but when I move, I will be tackling that as well. 😂 It's really such a blessing, there's nothing you can't learn on here. I be shook thinking of how people learned nails before TH-cam. I don't even know what I would do, sitting in a salon working on a client like 👀😐🤔🥴. But that's also why I have alot of respect for ppl who have been doing nails for so long because it's like damn man, you really did have to walk 20 miles to school in ten inches of snow butt ass naked with no shoes. 😭 Thanks so much to content creators like you, Nail Hub, Femi Beauty, Long Hair Pretty Nails, Naio Nails, and many others!
I did go to school and get my license but of course we know that you only get the basics and I have to say I've learned a lot from Young Nails and some of the other channels I watch I'm truly grateful for the education because I can't afford to take classes but as I said I'm truly grateful for the education I'm able to receive on TH-cam thank you all for all of your hard work it is truly appreciated much love always 💅💕💕💕
My experience, of 7 years doing nails. The first 4 years I pay a lot of money at schools. And did not learn what the most important things the details . Then I start to watch your video’s every day and that is what help me in every kind of way.
I am a licensed nail tech, but I learned so much more from your videos! That is also the reason I started replacing my products from school with Young Nails products! In the last couple of months I bought your e file, airbrush, gel polishes and builder gels. Super excited everytime u post new content. Really appreciate al the time u guys put in to it. #teamyn
I had heard gel was better than regular nail polish cause it lasted longer, I went to many places and none lasted, they all peeled off or chipped because my nails were not prepped correctly, one of the nail techs even told me she didnt remove cuticles, that she only pushed them, turns out, she also did not remove the dead cuticle. Until I started watching videos in youtube and started doing my own nails, did I learn about a good prep, good products, etc. Thank you guys for sharing as much as you do.
I am incredibly THANKFUL for all the videos, time and effort that all of you provide us. I’ve learned so much and I trust 💯 what I see and hear from you guys and gals!
Yes it is I’m completely self taught from TH-cam & when I went to school they never taught anything i didn’t already know... I actually knew more than the instructor...
I LOVE your products and videos!!! I cant hear Tracy very well though. Y'all taught me how to even start doing my own nails and daughters with zero experience!! So yes it's working! Keep it up.
Yes cause I’ve learned so much! Even from yall! Cosmo school barely teaches you anything and yes maybe some other classes after school is a great option but practice in the end makes perfect
Yes !!!!! you guys are helping me alot !!!! alot !!! with ur videos and the perfect clases that u have!!! thankyou!!!!!! And Iam just doing my own nails because is helping me with my anxiety and depression that I sufferer from years ago, I just have around 7 months doing my nails
I love you videos & Greg explains things wonderfully in his videos. I have tought myself through TH-cam and I live, eat and sleep nails. I started 6 months ago and I am obsessed. I realised that I need the training, I need the tips and tricks because my nails still lift. I have booked myself for the Young Nails course because not even doing nails every free moment I have is enough. I need expert training if I want to do this full time.
I agree, TH-cam is great learning tool. I don't have the time to make it to classes, so I can practice with TH-cam from 9pm to 12am. Thanks for your videos
Doing my Salon success acrylic and gel one week course in South Africa next week, and I’ve been watching TH-cam since September last year when I decided I want to start doing nails 😍😍😍
Such a great topic! I live in a country that you actually do not need any education before starting a company and do nails. So in the beginning I was one that swore that it was enough to watch YT to do nails. But after 6 years...I would say: To a degree..yeees… If I compared myself to others that took a lot of money from people in this country, YT was enough as a start. BUT after 14 months in school, even though it was online(nailsproacademy) I have learned SO much more!!! I learned a lot for my own self-confidence and to truly LEARN how a nail should look like and make them so it would last until next infill. I now feel that I can take on anything and work with almost every product out there. I love having that feeling. I could not do that without the classes. But we need YT also, it helped me a lot in the beginning. Tfs guys!
I first did a class with Edge gel nails, this involved bringing a model for the day and being shown how to do a set of pink and whites and then completing sets at home and sending in pictures. I did not have a clue about anything that could go wrong with structure etc and could not possibly offer as a service on anyone lol. I then started watching all of young nails videos, Greg was my saviour. I got myself a nail trainor and practiced loads. I then trained as a beautician and one of the modules was manicure and pedicure, we covered health and safety manicures pedicures and gel polish. I then took an ITEC Diploma course in Nail Technology (That was the worst, I cannot even start to tell you how bad that was) Luckily for me the endless amounts of hours i spent watching Greg had paid off, I could do nails confidently by this time and i had a lot of knowledge regarding the science, again from listening to Greg and other professionals people like doug schoon and lots of others. Whilst i was completing the ITEC course i found a young nails educator in my area and took a class with her so that i would be insured to use young nails products on future clients. This was a good experience as she was very good at her craft an an excellent tutor. Anyway i didn't mean to go on this long lol the bottom line is, If i had never been able to watch Greg and people as skilled on TH-cam I would probably have given up because the bad advice and examples i had been given on paid courses wouldn't of equipped me with the skills or knowledge to carry on. So Thank all of you'z sooooo much for doing what you do! x (your products are the bomb 2)
I absolutely learnt more on TH-cam than my classes, however, if you’re doing this as a hobby TH-cam is definitely enough but if you’re doing this professionally then you have to be certified. Most Professional nail supplies you can’t even buy unless you’re licensed/certified. Also, with nail schools you have a set number of hours and everyone learns at a different pace, with TH-cam you can keep going. *** don’t mean to offend anyone but this is the reality of it.
I’ve learned through watching your, the nail hub, and nail education TH-cam videos. Lol I got tired of having people not doing my nails the way I wanted them to be done. Lol
I’ve been a nail tech for 24 years...and I just had to make a lot of mistakes along the way to actually learn...I would’ve loved to have a resource like TH-cam...I would’ve grown so much faster...but, all of the mistakes made me a very well rounded tech which I would never change...education was always really difficult to find in my area and when I did find it, most of the time they spent most of the class giving us a sales pitch and not actually educating us...it was always really frustrating for me...I am signed up for OWC acrylic in May and I’m soooo excited to come and get my education on! It the first real formal training I will be receiving in 24 years!!!!!
My interest was always there to learn about this art, that's what I see it as. But when I started to reach and found you all it made and interest turned into..Yes I want to learn this art. Definitely I love all your videos and the sit down chats. It had given me insight and and ideas. So much so I am doing the course to be a certified Nail Technician. Please continue to share with us, it does make a difference. Thank you
PLAY …pause…rewind …play lol VHS 📼 . I self taught from your video back in the day! In the 90’s you didn’t need a license. But i did take hands on classes at the local beauty supplier and watched videos. Then later it became a law to have a license.
These videos are amazing, Im binge watching the whole playlist! 😄 You guys give a very good insight and help to learn the 'ropes' of the nail industry, especially for a beginner like me 😄
Yes, I think it is when you have proper and quality instructors and that is how I view Young Nails, The Nail Hub, Nail Career Education and Nailco. Young Nails videos are where I learned gel from being trained Acrylics. I learned dry manicures from Nailco (Russian technique from a Russian) and I use The Nail Hub for in-depth product information. I learned acrylics in 2004 and the world has changed so much, so having access to the companies on TH-cam constantly teaching us what is new with their products in a way we can watch as many times as we can to learn and really take stuff on. I still practise on a practice hand and myself. I still get stuff wrong. I've taken classes when I just need that hands-on moment, but then I do it with those who are invested in teaching and not just making money from it. It is easier to find quality teachers because they are on youtube. It is amazing you put out all the content for us and I think you so much for all that you do. Young Nails are rockstars.
I think all the youtube education is more than enough education to do nails but practicing is where it's at. I study for hours everyday, review what I learn every weekend. I've learned so much and I'm just waiting for my community college to open up their nail tech course sometime this year to get certified so I am able to purchase professional quality products. I already have a list of future further specialty nail education courses I'm wanting to attend and a line of willing hands to practice on for experience and feedback. My only set back atm is a financial setback, waiting to pay off debt before I invest into nail products.
The internet was my first teacher and I was my first model. This was back in the early 2000s. I used Backscratchers on myself, at first it was a dip method, then I got a Tammy Taylor VHS tape and learned l&p. I knew how to apply acrylic and didn't even know how to do a natural nail manicure. 20 yrs later, I've gone from message boards to YT, still learning, still working.
I live in an area where you dont NEED to go to nail school to be licensed. I've spoken to people who went to esthetician school too and sometimes they taught you methods they personally liked which were wrong. I personally have learned way more through youtube than I have in my nail courses.
I’m a DIYer and I’ve been learning through TH-cam and instagram. But I’m to the point where I would like to shadow a nail tech. School is not an option right now; plus, I’m eager for hands-on-training.
I love your educational videos! I started & am still learning on TH-cam. But I’m waiting on my practice hand to come in the mail. Been doing research on licensing requirements in my state 😁
I just graduated from nail school in Ohio, and most of our days in school consisted of watching you tube videos on a large TV in school. It was very frustrating that we paid good money to this school, but our REAL EDUCATION was just by watching you tube!!
As a side note though,, I'm not sure if letting just anyone do nails professionally if they don't attend a school though. Seems like there would be a lot of nail techs that wouldn't maybe get ALL the info needed to do nails safely.
I’ve learned ALOT through videos and yrs of watching the nail technicians that used to do my nails, AND I think if you can afford workshops that could be beneficial too :-) Learn by doing
After learning from both internet and college you practice first on yourself then other people you know after a while of that just keep on you also get tips and ideas to design your own type of nails
Absolutely nail videos are helpful but having an instructor is better yes BUT if you take your videos down please know that you would be doing more damage than good bc you guys have taught me how to correct soooo much
So true I learnt so much from you guys and your videos are cool to watch cause there's a tempo to it and it's clear for beginners like me! On practising I totally agree I was told to watch all kinds of videos to get good at polygel and that's what I did and I couldn't have done my nails without your tutorials but the first time I did polygel I had no idea what the eff I was doing! For real though, but as did them the second and third time it was like a learning curve you kind of connect the dots. Nothing compares to actually applying the tutorials you see here on real nails though. Thanks so much!! Keep going in this hard time 😨
I don't feel so crazy now. I've not only watch youtube but bought the Milady Standard book & workbook as well but I want to be able to get supplies from sources such as LE , Young Nails & Fuzon that I can't now without a licence.
Thats what I've been doing this year! My classes don't start until August 2021, and I've watched videos here and with Nail Career Education and I've been practicing on my friends. They have been so amazing and giving me guidance on what feels good and what doesn't. Its been awesome!
I've taught myself using your videos and your products - and they are the first set I've ever had that haven't completely lifted off from the cuticle edge! (and my local salon uses Young Nails, but I don't remember them ever using protein bond!) Also, from watching your videos I found UK YN Mentor Dawn, who just so happens to live in the next town over from me, so I defo want to take a class with her!
Thanks for all learning videos, they are great. I'm learning from TH-cam videos and doing on my self every week. If I feel that this activity has legs I will take classes to get a license.
My opinion is TH-cam is great resource to update your knowledge and find the answers really quick, however not every channel show everything so as a beginner will not know all the proses... so it’s great if you can afford payment courses 🤍
I've learned mostly from yourselves on TH-cam, I took an online nail tech course to obtain the certification I needed to be a recognised nail tech. I'd like to thank you all for your part in my learning. I always practice on myself before doing anything on a friend or client. The only thing I feel we need to learn is nail infections and other contra-indications, do you have any video's on those please? 😊💅💖😘
@@youngnailsinc I understand about the medical advice, but surely you could highlight on what type of sores or infections you are unable to carry out a service on a client?😊💖💅
I literally learned by doing a hands on set with a highly skilled tech and TH-cam videos. Nevertheless they are folks really big in the industry from my hemisphere and they were solely SELF-TAUGHT cause at that time nails class wasn't like a thing here so they practiced with full on reputation and taught themselves everything 💪🙏💯
But of course that's never enough! Learning is continuous and there is always something new out there that wasn't these yesterday so reach for it as the sky is the limits
You guys are so professional and I watch every u tube video off all your work and the business videos are so valuable. Absolutely a big big👌👍👍. In South Africa you can go for a course but like you said....you know nothing and cant afford it and only in city's that is just not possible. But the main thing is THE QUALITY OF YOUR BRAND. I am so so sorry I cant afford it and very difficult to get Supplies. If Tracey see wat we charge for a full set (actually building and color and repair and one or two coulours oooo 3 broken oooo and removal ) in your money more and less $23 and that is top price. Our economic status is really 0. I love you all....make such fun video's and inspirational stuff to watch... laugh my ass off 🙏👌❤🇿🇦
Ugh, I started nail school 2 weeks ago, she made us start manicures right away, practicing on each other... BUT she showed us how once, sent us to the class and never observed to see if we were doing it right, so I'm a nervous wreck. Wednesday this week she showed us the steps of pedicures and expects us to jump on that this coming Monday (school is mon-wed, 9-5). I'm a perfectionist, so I get nervous and embarrassed when I think I won't get it right. I'm trying to get over that 🤷🏻♀️
This is very very normal for school. Don't stress, school is to log hrs and pass state board, what education you seek out after school is what will perfect your craft
Love your videos! I have learned a lot from TH-cam! I do find, though, there is a lack of videos on short/active length and oval or round nail shapes. Also, side profiles or the barrels of nails seems to be something a lot of people don’t ever show. Still considering nail school even though it’s mostly just a hobby for me.
As a DIYer, social media and training videos are amazing. However, if you want clients (or even simply to enhance your own nails), it may be best to have someone give you live hands-on training while you both are PHYSICALLY in the same room. This way, troubleshooting real life issues is present.
I took a nail course in Mexico which they provided me with the basic kit. Within 1 month of training I then recieved a certificate saying I was a licensed nail tech 😂
Whhhaaatt??? I'm only a few minutes in and you said people are complaining to take down your educational videos??? Whaaat??? That's gotta be the stupidest thing I ever heard!! So let me see what the rest of the video says.. thanks for sharing guys 😊😊 P.s. I learned EVERYTHING about nails threw TH-cam and Instagram! 😊
I have seen many, many comments from people stating that they got more knowledge from videos than they did in school....this is speaking volumes. Maybe it's time these schools did more for the student. I know it's important to have the information needed to pass state boards but maybe it's about time the schools do a little more than just the basics. It's would only be good PR for them, and it would also be putting out more confident students.....just saying......
I am curious to know the setup for this YTubeCast. The switch between the two of you and the clear mic feeds. It's perfect! Do share if possible. Thank you. I'm trying to get more into my educational side and getting my face out there into the YT world.
I've learned a lot on TH-cam but I started by going and getting my nails done and watching the tech and asking them a crap load of questions my biggest problem now is if I want to make money I got to get a license but don't know how to here in ohio
You guys are the best will always be the best no one can compare to you all....i cant stand valentinos horrible videos and products .. many nail tips that I have spoken to throughout social media complain about Latino because the only thing they're basically banking on is just the name their products suck very expensive to say the least and the product doesn't deliver let alone how expensive the product is the video is just horrible that they started on TH-cam is just horrible horrible horrible by far I've been using Young Nails I will never use anything else I have been so satisfied with young nails and I will always be.
The problem I am facing is not being able to afford to take a course. I am certified for pedicures and am trying to make money to pay bills and put away for a nail course. But I live in a small town and building clientele is slow. I do nail art samples and post everything on Instagram and Fb to create a following.
No not really but you tube does help but to get the best out of it going to college helps better alongside you tube taking classes at college will give you more depth detail
How could a novice at home nail art lover turn passion and hobby into money without working in a salon or being an influencer? Are Etsy stores profitable?
Yes, yes all your videos make a difference.
You are the only group covering so many aspects of our industry.
Thank you for that.
I’m an esthetician/nail tech for going on 22yrs.
The days of pink and white only have changed.
Your product is by far the best gel system going.
All of you hard work and online content is needed and appropriated.
Thank you so much!
I've learned more watching TH-cam than I did in school. They truly just taught how to pass state boards. LOTS of practice is the only way to perfect something. Definitely practicing different things on ourselves is invaluable. 💕
For sure
YT is a great teacher because not only can you choose who to watch but you can hit the rewind button as often as it takes! No matter if it's nails or crafts or mechanics, we need to keep learning.
Totally!
Literally had this exact conversation with my daughter who I am training now. I’ve been in the industry for over 20 years and I explained how I learned.... fly across the country to take a class ask a question see it once .. go in the salon work like a crazy person hoping I was doing it right! But she is putting the time in.. that’s the 🔑 key dedication and practice!!! Love you guys keep it up!!! EVERY THING YOU DO IS AWESOME!! #teamyn

“Holy crap! Who does your nails/What salon do you go to? They’re so cool”

I love that conversation. Thank you for all you share with us.

Are TH-cam Nail Education Videos Enough? Most definitely. And practice, practice, practice. I've been doing nails for 20 years and I watch TH-cam daily. Your always learning something from others.
❤️❤️
I personally think it is, videos on nail techniques on TH-cam has helped me understand in a more hands-on approach. There are so many nail educators out there that share what I didn't learn in school 😳
Education is key

I am at the end of my nail course and I have LITERALLY learned how to actually do acrylic nails from watching you guys and not through my course!! Can't thank you guys enough for all the vids!!
That is awesome!
You
I think the TH-cam videos are essential, not only for beginners but for the professional as well. I love watching them to brush up my skills and learn new ones
❤️❤️
I've been watching TH-cam nail videos for a few years trying to learn how to do it on my own and just enjoying watching the process. I have to say, I've learned more from YN content than all the other videos combined. Within a few months of watching your videos I've felt comfortable enough (and inspired) to do them on my own. It's taking me several hours to do a full set of gel nails with forms but they've come out amazing!!! Thank you Young Nails!!!
That's great, good for you!
I love the "work on yourself". I am a DIY'er and I absolutely agree with that statement; and any DIY'er knows you cannot learn everything on youtube but I think I have learned the basics in the 4 years just watching techs or DIY'ers.
For sure
It takes a lot of humility to admit that you're not great at something and to take the time to really get good. Really good discussion as always.
Thank you
The difference with you guys and other youtube video's is that you actually show everything in real time, where as most nail tutorials speed everything up and cut things out especially filing the nails which to me is probably one of the most important parts to learn. you show the mistakes and how to correct them and also reassure your viewers that is ok to muck up sometimes, its normal and everyone does it. i love everything about [NY] as you guys totally keep it real. just the other day i learned when to pinch gel and now know that its 9 sec of curing, i haven't learned that from any other nail channel, you explain everything as you go along and show how the nails look from all angles which is great for everyone x
Happy to hear you are enjoying the content
Yes. You can learn from TH-cam videos as long as you practice. This is called muscle memory. According to physiotherapists , it takes 12 weeks of daily repetition in order to build that muscle memory.
Totally
I love watching your video's! I'm from UK so we don't need a license. I did a 5 day course, they showed you how to do acrylic and gel. Then we had to go practice and practice and send evidence of our work. I watch TH-cam all the time for tips and different techniques. Keep up the good work.
Hey. Where was it?
@@khatija3 it was a company called next step beauty x
For sure
I 100% learned to do nails on TH-cam. Polygel, gel, apres method, tips, sculpting, nail foil, encapsulation, decals, gem art, maintenance, fills, repairs, removals, revisions, e-filing, sanitation, everything. I still have so much to learn and perfect, but my sets stay on for a month plus, no lifting, no breaking, no missing stones, no missing nails, and I'm so proud of that.
I don't work in acrylic yet because my space doesn't have the right ventilation to do it safely but when I move, I will be tackling that as well. 😂
It's really such a blessing, there's nothing you can't learn on here. 😭
Thanks so much to content creators like you, Nail Hub, Femi Beauty, Long Hair Pretty Nails, Naio Nails, and many others!
haha totally
I did go to school and get my license but of course we know that you only get the basics and I have to say I've learned a lot from Young Nails and some of the other channels I watch I'm truly grateful for the education because I can't afford to take classes but as I said I'm truly grateful for the education I'm able to receive on TH-cam thank you all for all of your hard work it is truly appreciated much love always 💅💕💕💕
All free education here!
I have learnt a lot from TH-cam and still learning every single day spending 1-2 hours. Thank you for sharing your tips and tricks with us.
Thanks for watching!
My experience, of 7 years doing nails. The first 4 years I pay a lot of money at schools. And did not learn what the most important things the details . Then I start to watch your video’s every day and that is what help me in every kind of way.
Happy you are enjoying the content
You are enough HABIB👌😂 and I've learned so much from YN YT CHANNEL.. and I thank u guys so much. 💕
❤️❤️
I am a licensed nail tech, but I learned so much more from your videos! That is also the reason I started replacing my products from school with Young Nails products! In the last couple of months I bought your e file, airbrush, gel polishes and builder gels. Super excited everytime u post new content. Really appreciate al the time u guys put in to it. #teamyn
Thank you so much for sharing ❤️❤️
I had heard gel was better than regular nail polish cause it lasted longer, I went to many places and none lasted, they all peeled off or chipped because my nails were not prepped correctly, one of the nail techs even told me she didnt remove cuticles, that she only pushed them, turns out, she also did not remove the dead cuticle. Until I started watching videos in youtube and started doing my own nails, did I learn about a good prep, good products, etc. Thank you guys for sharing as much as you do.
Thank you so much for watching
I am incredibly THANKFUL for all the videos, time and effort that all of you provide us. I’ve learned so much and I trust 💯 what I see and hear from you guys and gals!
❤️❤️
Yes it is I’m completely self taught from TH-cam & when I went to school they never taught anything i didn’t already know... I actually knew more than the instructor...
That's awesome haha
I LOVE your products and videos!!! I cant hear Tracy very well though. Y'all taught me how to even start doing my own nails and daughters with zero experience!! So yes it's working! Keep it up.
Angie B I thought it was just me not being able to hear her😅 I mentioned it last week hoping it would be fixed but I’m sure they’ll get on it!
Nice! Will check her mic
I too have learnt to do nails from TH-cam. Started as a hobby and has grown into a profession
That's awesome !
You are going to love the course
Your videos have helped me soo much in correcting myself or even if I didn’t know I was doing it wrong thanks for your dedication I’m teaching others
Margie Torres ❤️❤️❤️
Your videos are filled with great information, thank you.
❤️❤️
I agree, TH-cam is great learning tool. I don't have the time to make it to classes, so I can practice with TH-cam from 9pm to 12am. Thanks for your videos
❤️❤️
Doing my Salon success acrylic and gel one week course in South Africa next week, and I’ve been watching TH-cam since September last year when I decided I want to start doing nails 😍😍😍
Awesome!
I absolutely believe that if you want to learn something you can learn how to do it on TH-cam. The ethics underlying it determines how far it can go.
For sure
Tfs guys!
Thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much for sharing, really appreciate hearing these stories because that is what we do it for
Yes I’ve learned so much from youtube
I absolutely learnt more on TH-cam than my classes, however, if you’re doing this as a hobby TH-cam is definitely enough but if you’re doing this professionally then you have to be certified. Most Professional nail supplies you can’t even buy unless you’re licensed/certified. Also, with nail schools you have a set number of hours and everyone learns at a different pace, with TH-cam you can keep going.
*** don’t mean to offend anyone but this is the reality of it.
Absolutely correct
Thank you 😊
You guys are such inspiration!!! Learning from your videos and the #1 that stood out was must work on self! And that is how I learned!
For sure
I’ve learned through watching your, the nail hub, and nail education TH-cam videos. Lol I got tired of having people not doing my nails the way I wanted them to be done. Lol
Happy our videos are helping
Can't wait to have you out! You're gonna love it
My interest was always there to learn about this art, that's what I see it as.
Thank you
We will always be giving value to the industry! No plans of stopping
PLAY …pause…rewind …play lol VHS 📼 . I self taught from your video back in the day! In the 90’s you didn’t need a license. But i did take hands on classes at the local beauty supplier and watched videos. Then later it became a law to have a license.
Nice
Thank you so much for sharing and for watching!
Not a nail tech, I only do my own. TH-cam is how I learned. Please keep the information coming. #TEAMYN
Always
I think all the youtube education is more than enough education to do nails but practicing is where it's at. I study for hours everyday, review what I learn every weekend. I've learned so much and I'm just waiting for my community college to open up their nail tech course sometime this year to get certified so I am able to purchase professional quality products. I already have a list of future further specialty nail education courses I'm wanting to attend and a line of willing hands to practice on for experience and feedback. My only set back atm is a financial setback, waiting to pay off debt before I invest into nail products.
For sure, it is definitely an investment
The internet was my first teacher and I was my first model. This was back in the early 2000s. I used Backscratchers on myself, at first it was a dip method, then I got a Tammy Taylor VHS tape and learned l&p. I knew how to apply acrylic and didn't even know how to do a natural nail manicure. 20 yrs later, I've gone from message boards to YT, still learning, still working.
For sure so much great information available
I live in an area where you dont NEED to go to nail school to be licensed. I've spoken to people who went to esthetician school too and sometimes they taught you methods they personally liked which were wrong. I personally have learned way more through youtube than I have in my nail courses.
Continuing education is key
I’m a DIYer and I’ve been learning through TH-cam and instagram. But I’m to the point where I would like to shadow a nail tech. School is not an option right now; plus, I’m eager for hands-on-training.
Depending on regulations in your area that could be a possibility, love hearing people who are passionate about the craft
That's crazy but at least you graduated and will have resources to continue perfecting your craft
For sure
After learning from both internet and college you practice first on yourself then other people you know after a while of that just keep on you also get tips and ideas to design your own type of nails
For sure
Theses videos and how much are my favorite ones. I think ya'll touch on parts that are overlooked or not really discussed.
For sure
Hi ,I enjoy ur videos a lot,I just quit nail school I was paying and learning more at home.
Nail school is just to obtain your license, perfecting your craft comes from the continued education you seek after / during school
Thank you for sharing
❤️❤️
Absolutely nail videos are helpful but having an instructor is better yes BUT if you take your videos down please know that you would be doing more damage than good bc you guys have taught me how to correct soooo much
Oh I hope they dont stop. I'll cry!
We have no plans of stopping :)
Keep going in this hard time 😨
❤️❤️
I learned how to do nails on youtube too. I only went to school so i can get my license and be legit
Nice
Same here! I've been doing nails for 4 years, now I'm going to school in fall so I can be licensed!
Same!
That's awesome, Dawn is a great instructor
Like anything on TH-cam, there are great nail videos and some pretty horrible ones. Your videos are among the best.🙂
Thank you
Thanks for all learning videos, they are great. I'm learning from TH-cam videos and doing on my self every week. If I feel that this activity has legs I will take classes to get a license.
Nice
My opinion is TH-cam is great resource to update your knowledge and find the answers really quick, however not every channel show everything so as a beginner will not know all the proses... so it’s great if you can afford payment courses 🤍
I've learned mostly from yourselves on TH-cam, I took an online nail tech course to obtain the certification I needed to be a recognised nail tech. I'd like to thank you all for your part in my learning. I always practice on myself before doing anything on a friend or client. The only thing I feel we need to learn is nail infections and other contra-indications, do you have any video's on those please? 😊💅💖😘
For sure, subjects like that can be a little touchy just because we wouldn't want to confuse it for giving any form of medical advice
@@youngnailsinc I understand about the medical advice, but surely you could highlight on what type of sores or infections you are unable to carry out a service on a client?😊💖💅
And don’t forget biz talk lol. YN has it all.
❤️❤️
I literally learned by doing a hands on set with a highly skilled tech and TH-cam videos. Nevertheless they are folks really big in the industry from my hemisphere and they were solely SELF-TAUGHT cause at that time nails class wasn't like a thing here so they practiced with full on reputation and taught themselves everything 💪🙏💯
Nice
I love you all....make such fun video's and inspirational stuff to watch... laugh my ass off 🙏👌❤🇿🇦
Happy you are enjoying the content
Happy you're enjoying the content
I have learn a whole lot from you guys nice videos, I even have to save some of your videos to help me thanks guys
That's great
Nope. Habib and Tracey need more classes for sure. 😂
lol
As a DIYer, social media and training videos are amazing. However, if you want clients (or even simply to enhance your own nails), it may be best to have someone give you live hands-on training while you both are PHYSICALLY in the same room. This way, troubleshooting real life issues is present.
Definitely
Ive watched a bazillion vids
Same!! I would love to start an Etsy store or something
lol
I took a nail course in Mexico which they provided me with the basic kit. Within 1 month of training I then recieved a certificate saying I was a licensed nail tech 😂
Nice at least you were seeking out training.
No, it's not enough. You can learn a lot from TH-cam but it will never beat a hands-on class with an educator.
For sure
Whhhaaatt??? I'm only a few minutes in and you said people are complaining to take down your educational videos??? Whaaat??? That's gotta be the stupidest thing I ever heard!! So let me see what the rest of the video says.. thanks for sharing guys 😊😊
P.s. I learned EVERYTHING about nails threw TH-cam and Instagram! 😊
hahaha
I have seen many, many comments from people stating that they got more knowledge from videos than they did in school....this is speaking volumes. Maybe it's time these schools did more for the student. I know it's important to have the information needed to pass state boards but maybe it's about time the schools do a little more than just the basics. It's would only be good PR for them, and it would also be putting out more confident students.....just saying......
For sure, schools can vary but we do our best to put out as much information as possible
I am pretty new to your channel and wanted to know if you have a video on using an e-file on your less dominant hand?? Would love to know!!
We absolutely do. Search non dominant hand here on the channel and it will pop up
I am curious to know the setup for this YTubeCast. The switch between the two of you and the clear mic feeds. It's perfect! Do share if possible. Thank you. I'm trying to get more into my educational side and getting my face out there into the YT world.
Also, I've learned through video, hands-on training, and practiceXpractice the more ya know!
We have 3 cameras that film and we switch between the footage for angles there. The audio is fed into a mixer. It is a zoom H6
Oh thank you so much for that! I appreciate you guys more than you'll ever know!
They help, but not enough!
I think the combination of videos, education and practice is key
#TEAMYN
❤️❤️
#teamyn ❤❤❤❤
❤️❤️
I've learned a lot on TH-cam but I started by going and getting my nails done and watching the tech and asking them a crap load of questions my biggest problem now is if I want to make money I got to get a license but don't know how to here in ohio
Yea def have to get your license to legally start working
I know but guess it's only going to be a hobby 4 me the only schools around me teach everything only and they don't only teach nails
Thank you for your support
The problem I am facing is not being able to afford to take a course. I am certified for pedicures and am trying to make money to pay bills and put away for a nail course. But I live in a small town and building clientele is slow. I do nail art samples and post everything on Instagram and Fb to create a following.
Keep at it, it will take time but it's worth it
No not really but you tube does help but to get the best out of it going to college helps better alongside you tube taking classes at college will give you more depth detail
For sure
It takes from the Nail career alote .
This will always be a great industry
Plus side you prove with paper from the college you studied an official certificate which shows
Yep
Oh hell no in my opinion. These videos are absolutely fantastic for professionals, but for newbies. Absolutely not I stress that.
❤️❤️
How could a novice at home nail art lover turn passion and hobby into money without working in a salon or being an influencer? Are Etsy stores profitable?
Totally, you could make press on sets and sell them through etsy or even on instagram
She didn't speak into the mic. Barely hear her. His voice is perfect tone, he speaks into mic.
The speech is the same, the audio has been adjusted in future vids. :)
Tracy needs her mic volume way up in ALL of these videos. Compared from Habib, she's very quiet...
Will check it out next time
