There are coming more great female guitarists... and they are now coming from Japan in the hardrock/ metal scene. Hal-Ca in the band Asterism is jawdropping and she's just 17 now. Kanami in Band-Maid is another extra ordinary guitarist. And then we have the ladies in Lovebites, Marys' Blood, Aldious and other bands...

I had the good fortune of seeing Joanna play a million years ago at the Blues Saloon in St. Paul MN (long closed). One night she was playing like this while watching a kid (her's?). She seemed to have 98% of her attention on the young man of about 12, sitting peacefully, WHILE playing like this. My god this woman has talent. Her Delta Blues version of Stevie Ray songs are unbelievable.

After watching another of her videos, I hit like before she started. Knew it would be good.
Can't we just look at pure talent? Isn't there any place left for the the Blues? It is one of the most beautiful forms of music we have. Joanna is just now starting to get some recognition on TH-cam. Joanna Connor is one of the greatest Blues players to ever have lived. I just hope she gets the recognition while she is still alive.
I stumbled across her a couple of weeks ago and have made it a point to watch every performance I can find. If you read the comments in just about all of the videos the theme is the same "Why haven't I heard of her before ?" TH-cam may well have relaunched her career - I certainly hope so - she's incredible.
refundrick I first heard Joanna Connor on jazz and blues radio while living in L A 87 - 95 ,,, saw her in a small club venue for mabey $10',,, she blew the doors off the hinges // at that time she was more slender ( late 20s early 30s ) she's in her 50s

Everyone in this band is a high class musician,and this guitarist, never heard someone playing like that. She's using all the fretboard, jumping up and down the neck, without missing a note. Virtuoso guitarist!

I am in awe of talent she displays. I am an older guy trying to work on my guitar chops, and this is a humbling inspiration of where I only dream of emulating. I've just ordered an album of hers on Amazon, cannot wait to spend some blissful time lost in her artistry.

Was at this show to see the greatest woman guitarist in the land. The first time I saw this talented lady was at The Chicago Blues Fest in 1987 with her black spandex pants...that awesome voice...and those blazing fingers that set her fret board on fire...I've been a huge fan ever since. It was a much needed distraction as I started radiation treatments the following week to eradicate the cancer that took up residence in my vessel. Since then, Joanna has finally gotten her much deserved break and has the No. 1 Blues Album with '4801 South Indiana Avenue' produced by Joe Bonamassa...ya, that's right...Joe frickin BONAMASSA! So proud of you Joanna and can't wait to see you in the near future...cancer be damned! Your NEIU computer lab 'stalker.'....LOL!
