I have actually tried the Burkart Resona and it's pretty easy! But the plastic cleaning rod broke a tiny piece off at the point where the two pieces screw together. I also felt it was a bit over my head as someone new to piccolo.
Not piccolo related, but I just bought a new flute from the FCNY using your code! Thanks for your great flute reviews and for the recommendation of using them. They made it so easy for me to find a great intermediate flute. I am so in love with it!!!
I would not recommend for a beginner flutist to play piccolo. That is because you need to have a very solid flute embouchure before adjusting to piccolo.

Piper piccolos are AWFUL! My first one tarnished terribly within a few weeks. They said it was the case, so the company told the music store to return it to them. The company replaced the entire piccolo AND the case. The replacement was just as bad. Same thing happened and the mechanism failed. Avoid them at all costs. You will be out $1450.
I know a whole bunch of flute players of every ability level, have sold flutes, etc. at a music store for a year and a half, and don't play the flute. High end pro flute shops, as I have heard, just sell flutes. I've never been to one, of course. This is actually a halfway decent video. Maybe I was wrong about you somewhat. Just don't talk down to your audience...

Maybe lillian burkart didnt notice that. Because every flute/piccolo is tested by her before it goes to market
