@austin M I was just about to reply with that haha
I choose Birb Bird.
Birds aren’t real
Birds are just glorified chicken!
CHONK BIRD
Thanks to the algorithm for recommending something that I'm actually interested in and to the composer for this wonderful piece.
Thank you!
@@HermanBeeftinkComposer who knows, it may just be played at a concert that's planned for next year.
Me too! Breath taking!

*FINALLY SOMETHING GOOD TO LISTEN DURING QUARANTINE*
Yes he is a great composer,
And i composing a waltz
The quarantine is a great time to compose while there was no time for this when there would be school instead.
@@dragob5928 but sadly there are online classes
but you have more time you would normally use for driving to school...home schooling saves 2h daily for me
@@dragob5928 seriously?
This is by far the most beautiful flute ensemble piece I’ve ever heard. Exquisite! Thank you for sharing!
What a wonderful compliment, thank you so very much!!
So true
@@HermanBeeftinkComposer Thank you!
Yes! I am in absolute love with it! ❤
me too!
It’s music like this that makes me aspire to learn Piccolo and Alto Flute. This is just an exceptionally beautiful arrangement, with a perfect blend of the individual parts, skill, and emotion. It goes so smoothly from calm and slow to fast and triumphant. Absolutely incredible job, Herman Beeftink! This is certainly the best Trio for any instrument I’ve ever heard!
Thank you! I'm so glad it inspires you to play the other flutes! Thank you so very much for the kind words, I really appreciate it!
Vyzix Qwez do it alto and bass are fun
I dont know much about the flute, so excuse me if I sound ignorant. I played the clarinet and bass clarinet. Are the fingerings for the piccolo and alto flute different than the flute?
Aquaman I have played both the piccolo and the flute, but not the alto flute. From what i understand they all have the same fingerings
Aquaman They are essentially the same for the whole flute family.
The ascending arpeggio duet after 62 sounds straight out of a classic video game. So beautiful!
Mark Canlas Thank you so much!

It really gave me an Ori and the blind forest vibe
I don’t understand how this doesn’t have more likes. Of all the flute compositions I’ve heard (trust me I’ve heard a lot especially during quarantine trying to find something to play) this is by far the most beautiful collection of arrangements I’ve heard
Couldn't agree more! This piece is just so beatiful and I feel like it shows the best of flutes
Emma Qi I feel you man
Well I can offer you some reasons as to why it might not have more likes, firstly stuff like this (ie suites/pieces imitating or evoking birds or birdsong) has been done to death, not that it isn't a good piece, but doesn't really offer anything new in terms of musical perspectives. Secondly, 21st century classical music rarely has any likes because other than people listening to the old 'big' composers, not many people are interested in 21st century classical music, so I think the amount of likes is probably apt considering the circumstances.

when listening to all three parts, i instantly thought this would work well in an intense play? all my life i've wanted to write a play that follows three main leads that experience something profound and in the end they connect together like three birds singing together in the morning. i know this sounds ao basic but this fits in with exactly what i thought writing a play about that would be like. so inspirational. so glad this came into
my recommendations
helloitsmechristine Really cute idea! Like almost into-the-woods-like?
Go and do everything you have to do to write that play! Never stop writing! There is always room for growth and even more passion for what you do. Let your ideas run wild on the page, kind stranger
please write it!!!!!
Wow as an actor that sounds like such a cool idea!! Write it!! Omg!
Do it!!!! That sounds so cool!
Coming from a high school flute player, this looks like an absolute blast to play and it sounds incredible. I gotta get my flute besties back together
Why didn't I discover your music before? Amazing, colourful...
Дарья Тараненко Thank you so much!
seems there is someone that comes bez of the algorithm xD, here add me in :)
That's exaclty what I was thinking about :'0
Ну здравствуйте Дарья я думал я тут один✋
That unison at the end of the first movement is beautifully unearthly
This is the first time I’ve actually purchased sheet music from a composer I’ve found on TH-cam. I’m so excited to play this.
I love the C flute and Alto Flute doing the arpeggios in harmony as the melody is danced by the piccolo on top. We barely ever hear flutes by themselves usually being with Clarinets and oboes in some form of radical harmony, so this adds a new light to it.
Sounds like the music for some kind of bird kingdom in a Zelda game
I was literally was about to comment that! It's so pretty
Oh yeah, this would fit so well in a rito village
Wolfsong yeah it really would
marilynisamess Poor you.
I guess you could make something like this for oboe and call it "dying ducks" 😅😅 (no offense to oboe players)
No, no, you're onto something
Bleating bassoons? Cackling clarinets?
Ouch 😂
How about squawking saxophones?

There is something so compelling about this piece and its melodies-- the way they fit together, their cadences, etc. I don't really comment on TH-cam videos but this trio brought me such unabashed joy I wanted to share.
Wow... Just wow. I loved every single movement. Makes me want to draw (I'm a pianist but I also enjoy drawing). It certainly inspired me. Thank you for creating this.
Muy Julio Thank you so much!
omg someone gets it! I draw a lot and play sax and music inspires my art all the time! i thought i was the only one hahah
Muy Julio completely agree, as a flutist this makes me feel like I’m reading a story
Mhm, a forest scene with sunlight filtering through the canopy, something peaceful

I feep like I'm I'm on a boat looking out to go on an adventure someplace new. Then I enter the a mystic forest and get to observe all the creatures and their beauty. I really love how it's like everything in the piece is communicating with eachother.
Yess omg beautiful explanation of what you experience while listening!
Beautiful piece of music - I love the way in the first movement how each birds basic theme develops into more complex interweaving melodies. This music transforms me and makes me feel like I am surrounded by birds! Well done and I aspire to write music like this!
AJ Knight I really appreciate that, thank you so much!
My friends and I could do this! Except I have a bass flute not an alto but I’m sure it would still sound great ☺️
You could transpose it and play it as written, no problem!
Mr. Beefting,
You will most likely never see this message, but in case you do, please know that it is exceptionally rare for a composer like you to be alive. This music truly gives a strange yet so beautiful sensation. You have your own existential crisis when you hear it, because it is so raw, so real. It's beyond description. The only certainty I can give you is that it is a supreme masterpiece.
Touché, Mr Beeftink.
With friendly regards from Denmark. 🌹🐦
You are so kind Daniel! I really appreciate your comment, thank you so much!
THIS IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL BIRD I HAVE EVER HEARD ... CONGRATULATIONS.
I AM A CLASSICAL MUSIC COMPOSER
BUT MY COMPOSITIONS ARE IN OLD STYLE.
I AM FLUTE PLAYER AS WELL.
I discovered this music about two years ago, and I've been listening to this time to time and every time I cry, because it is so beautiful, like, you really feel something.
That means a lot, thank you so much!
Oh my god so beautiful ... definitely the best flute trio works on youtube !
That's so nice, I appreciate that, thank you!
I home you meant the best in the world
İt’s really beautiful to know that still such talented people are living on the Earth. Thanks a lot to the composer and the player for this wonderful music ❤️
Thank you so much!
probably the best flute piece i’ve ever heard. lovely!
Thank you so much!!
Me and two friends are doing this for a band fundraiser and I’m so excited to play it, it’s such a beautiful piece. I get to play the Alto part (I love playing alto and bass flute even though they tend to have easier parts. Beautiful instruments)
First off, that is SO COOL I really wanna play this in a trio but 1.) its quarantine, and 2.) I dont have any flute friends loll
But Secondly!! I AM SO GLAD SOMEONE ELSE ENJOYS ALTO AND BASE aaaaaaa I never really get to play them much because I only own my 2 C flutes, but I ADORE getting to play them when my flute teacher brings them!!! The low register is where I get my best tone quality of all and playing on lower flutes is /so cool/ because of that lol
It is a little sad that they have such basic parts but thats ok because I am always able to just transpose the C flute part and play that on Alto/Base on my own lol
I don't even play flute, but this gets my like.
I love this composer because someone actually gives us flautists some beautiful solo pieces. And the trios are so beautiful too.
This is masterpiece! I love this. I play flute and violin... This is so motivational and relaxing🎻😍
Thank you so much Eevi!
The eight note part in part 1 for flute 1 makes me feel an emotion I’ve never felt before
I don't know how I came here, and I don't care honestly. This is beautiful and something I needed apparently. Especially in times like these we can use some uplifting spirit.
Mark Pezy I stumbled here by accident, remained transfixed and left changed... Mr Beeftink has inspired not only me but also my students, who I had to send links to as soon as I was released from my ‘transfixed state’!

This is beautiful! After 20 years of not playing, I may have to get my flute out again. Thank you! ♡

I get chills when the alto flute comes in at measure 136 and embellishes the melody in 137😌
Got recommended for this video.
Was about to exit in a few sec but got stuck till the end.
Thot it was some unknown piece by one of the most renowned composers in the history.
Checked the title and description and stunned.

Thanks for the great piece!
It gives me the same feeling as being out in nature on a beautiful day
never cease to amaze me, your composition are just harmonically perfect
Thank you so much!
One of the most beautiful piece I heard since a long long time 😍 thank you!
Wow, thank you so much Maja, I really appreciate that!
Not sure why I’m commenting now, but I listened to this on repeat while I was in quarantine with my children. It was an escape into a beautiful place for me. I just want to say how exceptionally exquisite this music is, and a big thank you to Herman for sharing his gifts with the world.
Thank you so much, I appreciate it!
This is probably the most beautiful flute piece I've ever heard
You know, I always try to find music as beautiful and great as this, but I never do. Today was an exception!
i was working on this with a couple of my school friends, i was the alto, i loved playing it
I've never wanted to learn flute and alto flute more in my life
I hope you grabbed yourself one. Even a less expensive one is great due to modern technology. ❤🎉
If only I had an alto flute :( This is by far the most beautiful piece i’ve ever heard and it’s all with the instruments I can play😍😍 You sir create magical pieces!!
I want to go buy an alto flute now
@@gingechicken7394 oh god same to both of you
Playing this (and Fireflies) in early November... it's SO fun to rehearse... it's so naturally "flutey" and lays wonderfully under the fingers. Not to mention what it SOUNDS like...♥️♥️♥️ sublime, maybe???
Thank you Mr. Beeftink for your gift of music to the rest of us.
You are very kind, I appreciate that, thank you so much!
I am ready to say that, no matter where I am, in the classroom with my headphones on, In my room or on the street, this elevating music frees my soul and sends it to the forest. Ahh, actually rather it brings the forest to my spirit.
Dear Beautiful Artist Herman, the connection you made between the Self and the Bird is purely philosophical and simple
Thank you so much!
To be completely honest I normally don’t like the flute all that much, but this piece was so beautiful and I now I have a greater appreciation for it.
I actually feel the same
I am a flautist and this makes me happy my instrument is getting some love
Interesringly, I only appreciated the flute after starting to play it. Maybe have a go :)
I have listened to this piece for maybe over a year and I love it. I live in a small town in eastern Texas no one has probably heard of and a local college came to perform their ensembles for our symphonic band and the flute trio played this piece and I was astounded someone else knew this piece. What I’m trying to say is ur music is so beautiful you have people from the middle of nowhere performing it. Thank you for creating one the best flute trios or trios in general for that matter.
Love from Texas USA❤️❤️
That means a lot, thank you! And great to hear that it was performed at your local college. I really appreciate your kind comment, thank you so much!
I wanna see this done by a sopranino, alto and bass recorders!! That be so cool 😎.
Me and my friends are playing this for a concert at our school so far we are loving it! you should make a trio with bass in it!
Oh. Oh, wow. I was not prepared for something this beautiful. How have I never discovered your music before! That was so hauntingly beautiful. At times even achingly so. The acoustics made me think of high vaulted cathedral ceilings (I'm an organist by trade, so, maybe biased there lol), and all the delightful filigree of arpeggio just floated around in that incredible sound space like drops of starlight in the black. A very very appropriately-named piece of music, as I'm having to try very very hard to come up with comparisons that don't involve birds or flying, ha! Really, jokes aside, this was so beautifully done. And for some reason, the alto flute part was what I kept getting just totally enchanted by. I really want to pick winds back up one day, and this piece is probably the one thing that has made me come the closest to actually saying to heck with it and buying a bloody flute.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful little journey with us.
Do it! 😃
ein sentimentales Vorbild. das Herz blutet mir. es ist das, was Musik ist.
This is so incredible! One of the best trios I’ve ever heard. So wish I had an alto flute so I could play this. I especially loved the last movement-very touching and beautiful.
Just returned from mini concert where they played this composition live. Stunned. Amazing
This is just a wonderful piece! Not a lot of composers are able to write nice parts for piccolo. But you did a great job by mixing those three instruments with the right balance! I bought this piece to with with my friends and this will be a nice challenge for intonation. I am trill to have my piccolo out of its box to play this!!!
This sound so amazing! The whole piece sounds like these three birds were singing their own melody to compete only for their melodies sound so harmonized well.
Thank you so much!
Enchanting ! Beautifully structured, never testing listeners patience.
I would never be able to guess the birthday of composition. It is timeless like all beautiful things.
Endearing and encouraging for the spring season of a pandameic virus. Thank for an inspired vaccine.
YOOOOOOO I LOVE THE WAY THE MELODIES ARE WOVEN TOGETHER……. stuff like this reminds me why music is my passion :]
a straight bop every time I come back to it i play it on repeat for hours
Thank you! I’m so glad you like it!
🧐
THIS IS THE BEST FLUTE TRIO EVER‼️‼️‼️❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
I've always struggled with 'getting' music so it's rare to find any that strikes a chord with me, that I not only enjoy but want to hear again. I'm not sure I can think of another piece right now that comes even close to how your beautiful masterpiece has moved me and reached a spiritual longing deep within. I want to keep listening forever. Thank you so much!
Never searched for a video like this before so I’m glad this video came to me
This flute sound is beyond description , immeasurable , unfathomable and comfortable to the ear and the mind .

Found this a while ago, but I come back every once in a while to listen to this piece again, it's genuinely so beautiful. I think my favorite is the first part, but also I'm kind of obsessed with the beginning of the second part, where it's like a call and response that mimics actual bird noises. It sounds like they're talking to each other, and it's *so* cute. Wanted to leave a comment to show appreciation, this is awesome.
Thank you so much for your kind comment, I appreciate it, I'm glad you like it. And yes, the second movement starts with bird chatter slowly coming together into a song, glad you heard that.
Honestly sooo good
Lisa Eunis Thank you so much!
This is certainly the most gorgeous and genius flute ensembles I've ever heard. The three tones of flute between piccolo and alto is gorgeous and ethereal and so emotional. Im in awe at the mind and talent!
I am thrilled I clicked on this video when it was suggested to me. It's whimsical, ethereal, and such a pleasure to listen to. Thank you so much for sharing your work!

This is sublime. This is poetry made real through music. I'm always on search of new flute music and this is a wonderful composition!
I love Part I. It's Subtle, airy, has a feeling of curiosity, playful at times, and has a story like structure.

I believe that your works may go down in history. This is incredible! Some of the best modern music I've heard!
I don't know how, by the magic of TH-cam, I found this video (or this video found me), but it put a smile on my face.
In addition to being delightful to listen to, this sounds a LOT like birds, which is really remarkable to me as an aspiring composer! Mr. Beeftink, how did you go about develoing these melodies - were they transcribed from recordings of wild birds, or did you come up with them yourself…?
Do they remind you specific birds? I'd love to try to imitate them when I play but I can't think of a suitable one for each part.
Dear Mr Beeftink
Thank you so much for writing such beautiful music. This is truely inspiring as a young flutist. I am currently in high school, doing my grade 8 and playing picc on the side. Ive tried to write trios but they are nothing compared to yours. Your music really touches me and inspires me to push myself to be the best flutist i can be.Thank you sir
@@jsebba1232 Thank you so much, I’m glad to hear that it inspires you! Wonderful that you study flute and also write trios. Good luck with your music studies!

This is so gorgeous oh my goodness I feel like I’ve just been transported to the most magical fairy world and back 😍😍😍
Listening to this at 4 a.m. with all the lights off brought me back to a place i never thought I'd remember. The composer did a job and a half on this.

Really very beautiful piece. Hats off to all for the interpretation, and extra props for the piccolo player for excellent intonation (not always easy on such a tiny instrument!).
Jean-François Daignault correction: NEVER easy. Piccolo is a picky little beast
@@savannahneis Question : is there a member of the flute family between the C flute and the piccolo? You know, like the alto flute in G is between the C flute and bass flute.
There's actually two. They're hardly ever used, but very interesting all the same. There's the treble flute in G and the Soprano flute in Eb.
@@savannahneis Thanks! I'm surprised the term soprano is used for another flute than the concert/C flute... I thought that IT was the soprano... Still makes sense though.
All the times I've listened to this and I just noticed the finale is a passacaglia. Truly the gift that keeps on giving.
this makes me want to buy an alto flute even though i will most likely never get a chance to use it
