Thanks for including your assistant! I'm always supportive and excited to see younger generations involved with collecting, restoring, or using antiques!

I’ve been trying to pass along the bug. Guess we’ll see if it takes!

I usually take an 1. a slot-head driver, 2. a square with a flat edge and 3. a "Rust Eraser" with me when looking at planes. They can all fit in your pocket easily. They won't tell you everything, but definitely worth your time to have these.

Those are all great tools to have on hand!

@@justplanefun the rust eraser saved me more than a few occasions when identifying the throat crack (badly retracted frog is first sign) underneath surface rust.

How refreshing to hear a new voice. I smell a spin-off ! Very insightful video my friend.

Thanks! She loves being in the video even if it’s just her voice. And she loves giving me a hard time, as you heard 😂

I live in a tool "desert" in western AR but somehow have managed to get #3 through #8. All were rough but cheap and now all are serviceable. I will get with you on my 78. I might be interested in a 4 1/2, 5 1/4, and 5 1/2 in the future if I find them rough, cheap, and restorable. It appears you caught this bug around the same time as I did. I was working on a Bellanca aircraft wood wing making scarf joints on skin repairs. Now I am hooked!

Sounds good. If you have a close friend or family member who uses Instagram, Reddit, or Facebook, have them drop me a line with your email address. I think TH-cam deletes comments with email address in em.

I'll buy a plane if it looks to have a good braze or even a weld but I won't pay much for it. I usually can find another item that is flat at the flee to check it.

I’ve been known to buy a brazed plane or two in my day

Nice videos you have. Good job.
I saw a video somewhere on your stuff where you mentioned a guy you knew who does a really good job with tote repairs. I have a 1910-11, type 11 no7.
An ya shoot me his info (no. Pun lol).

I live in Oklahoma, the only reason I’m not offended is because I’m originally from Texas 😎.

I don’t have a website yet but I do have a Facebook page.
If you’re not on FB, I’m also mjtoo on Instagram and mjthetoolguy on Reddit. If none of those work, let me know what your email address is and I’ll send you an email
