Now, the next game should be a direct sequel to Exit 8 where the player is now in the street trying to get home. Perhaps an anomaly on the bus stop or something, hehe
When your an octophobe, but every day you're forced to leave from Exit 8 of Platform 8 onto 8th street to walk to building 8 and head up the elevator to the 8th floor to reach your apartment (which is, of course, number 808).
Imagine Platform 8 would detect the presence of Exit 8 on your computer and seamlessly switch the game without ever letting on and you ended up playing them back to back because it switched without showing you lmao
What makes it scarier and life-like is those advertisements are the same ones on actual trains in Japan. I’m gonna get traumatized from going on trains if this shit happens to me😂

Hi Insym, I just wanted to thank you so much for being you and creating such a lovely channel. I enjoy all your let’s plays so much and it’s really been helping me get through some rough times. 5 weeks ago my dad was suddenly hospitalized due to being on the verge of having a heart attack, a few days later he had a double bypass surgery on the heart, but now a month later he’s gotten worse and has now been diagnosed with heart failure. They plan to rehospitilize him and restart his heart to see if he’ll improve. I’m constantly on the verge of tears and I’m just so grateful to be able to comfort watch your videos. Thank you so much!
This is wild. I am pretty sure I have taken the train line this is based off of. I see those same advertisements all the time and one of them is referencing a specific station in the city I live in.
Watched the first 10 minutes of this video, heard you say "You're not supposed to win these games first try", thought to myself "bet", and bought/completed the full game in one try. I do not play horror games. I feel unstoppable
Never played/watched this type of game. This definitely was an amazing experience. The game looked gorgeous and the anomalies were great. This instantly became one of my fav horror game! Definitely gonna checkout the whole stream for the Exit 8 game.
I think you meant False Dream, not Bad dream, the game where anomaly means that we're not awake, and need to go back to bed. I love that game, next to Exit8! This prequel looks so much fun, and feels like the devs truly listened to people's feedbacks and made a game as a reply! It's so cool!
I was immediately impressed by the graphics, it's so good. Even the exit8 dude sitting there looks a bit different because he actually looks real. It makes the game all the more haunting!
@@updog4L I thought it was an artefact of ray tracing w/o playing at super high frame rates. noticed something similar in Resident Evil 2 and turned RT off and it stopped

@@updog4L fair enough, thanks for looking deeper into it. I'll make sure to never use TAA lol. I just knew RT ghosting was a thing too because after googling wtf was going on in RE2 I found out it averages itself over ~6 frames by default unless the dev tweaks it, so at 60FPS it's really noticeable since that's 1/10th of a second
"id rather die knowing what happens then living not knowing what" - insym - 36:55 somone should get a tattoo of this. in glowing black light letters XD
Love these Exit 8-styled games and happy to see another game from the same developers! Also, that ending is the perfect callback to Exit 8 and is super well done! Turned out to truly be a prequel 🙏🏽
The event where you have to click on a door a specified number of times seems to be where most players get stuck. The corridor at Exit 8 appears to be modeled after the corridor leading to Exits 1 and 2 at Jujo Station on the Kyoto subway.
This kind of loop-with-weird-stuff-happening was peaked by Hideo Kojima in P.T. that never became full title. This is bit more subtle, but it borrows heavily from Kojima's gameplay quirks.
Uf... this one would have been better to understand some japanese... it was even scarier, at the L4 when the black door started to talk: "Help me. Please help me. Is there someone? Please help me. Please open." and you just walked there... and opened the door, while I was like, DONT OPEN THE FREAKING DOOR! :D
Gawd dang man really doesn't sleep I've managed to catch two videos in one day, This isn't Spooktube sir... or maybe I'm the one that needs to sleep haha
Im uncertain if you have played this game, it is called Stairway 7! It has the same themes of Exit 8 games where you gotta go either up or down depending on if there is an anomaly. What I like about this game is that if you choose the wrong answer, you get punished and can die.
Unlike Exit 8, which used fake ads, ALL the ads in this game are real ones. Which is a brilliant idea. Because we spend so much time looking for anomalies, the ads really leaves impressions on us. This might be the most brilliant way to advertise.
The third game has to be on the street, going home. That would be fun and interesting Street 8 will be the name for the third game and the ending is, you are now at home
This "type" of games... original i say... is very interesting... to complete we have to view all, particulars anything... genius... I think any anomaly you have to VIEW for a certain amount of time then try to change pattern, find a way to escape to next level...
Thats "The Anomalous Hour" by Gambir Studios. Edit: Considering subway tunnel, platform, and stairs, yes, Gambir. Chila's Art's version is more of a bus/train style where you walk through train cars.
Getting the "you can only move when it's dark" anomaly right after the "it can only move when it's dark" one is crazy
Do you by chance know the timestamp for it?

Bit of a steep "learning curve".
that's a straight up learning cliff 💀
Nah bro fr the only curve in that learning was 2021 short film “Curve” directed by Tim Egan
I love that the jumpscares aren't just screamy nonsense, they're very quiet and give a sense of dread over just being "BLAAAAAAAH!!! gotcha!"
thats how most horror games should be honestly
That's because they aren't jumpscares. Jumpscares - as the word shows - are intense scares that are designed to make you jump.

The Ending of Platform 8 into Exit 8 looks absolutely cinematic!!!!
The player is trapped in a never-ending hell loop!

Fun fact, the station names are actually word play on numbers in Japanese, for example:
Ichigasaki - 1-gasaki
Sanza - 3-za
Hachiban - 8-ban
This is wild. I am pretty sure I have taken the train line this is based off of. I see those same advertisements all the time and one of them is referencing a specific station in the city I live in.

2:33 what a learning curve lol
Gotta love when they actually make their games link together, curious what they'll do next, certainly looking forward to seeing it.
I love how they get some (Big in japan) VA on the anomaly is HIKAKIN
For anyone wondering, the station insym mentioned at 37:10 is called kisaragi station
It's crazy cause Observation Duty 3 actually kinda invented this genre... I'd love to see you revist it

They need to make more games, sequels! Both The Exit 8 and Platform 8 are really fun. I never get tired of playing them again and again.
