I am proud and pleased that Canadians have built this fine museum. "Lest we Forget" remains a poignant and important message! Thank you.

I remember many years ago (as an American) making a point of touring the museum when I visited Ottawa. I was SO impressed and absolutely blown away by the presentation (I LOVED walking through the simulated trenches of WWI and emerging in the WWII section...such a great touch) and exhibits of vehicles and equipment I had only read about or seen photos of. This museum is a national treasure, and I look forward to visiting again someday.

A quick visit to the Canadian National War Museum in early 2023. When I arrived, one of the people welcoming me asked if I'd been there before, and I replied, "Yes, but a long time ago - it was in the old building." "Was that back in the 80's?" "It might have been even before."
On my way out, I ran into her again, and she asked what I thought. I told her that it's an incredible museum - and it is, unmissable if you're anywhere near Ottawa - but that I wasn't sure that I completely enjoyed it, "But that's kind of the point, isn't it?" and she replied something along the lines of, 'Then you got the whole message of our museum, thank you."
    Lest we forget.

The LeBreton Gallery is worth its own trip. It's big and packed full with vehicles and equipment.
