Let’s get a feel for the package you bought from ACME…? What was your list or complete list and package total…? I found an engine but the adapter package has me worried….?
I’ve spent a fortune on this. The original kit was like $700 for the plate, flywheel and motor mounts. Then I ended up buying all the extras like the angled oil filter adapter, coolant outlet and the wiring harness. All the extras they sell make the installation easier but then price goes up. It can be done with just the $700 basic kit if you can wire and make some of the stock hoses work and want to deal with a remote oil cooler. I can’t fit their radiator kit cuz I have power steering but I have everything else they offer for the 1.9TD. They have a great FAQ section on the website. It’s like they say, some have done this swap for under $1200 others have spent $10k+ . I’ve spent A LOT more than $1200. It took me a few years between other projects to complete and I haven’t saved every receipt so I can’t give you an exact cost. I wouldn’t worry about Acme. Jeff has been around a long time, always answers my calls or emails promptly. He stands behind his “unlimited technical support” that he lists as part of the purchase price.
@@Chris_by_four that hurts but I got it out of you…! I just have a simple samurai that I bought cheap along the hiway up in n California. It probably died but no history…I have several engines but only my Kubota 2 banger makes any sense…got a Mitsubishi 4 and bmw 524td But that’s like putting on your old boots left too close to the fire place….catch my drift. I could drop the kubota in with one hand (it’s that small)….the 1.9 td is still with the seller…he came down to 600 But my focus was with this other conversion kit BS. I have two other incomplete swaps…4bta/scout and 6bta/12v/s120 4x4…so I may run out of time or energy….
@@offgridmangogrower that’s a good price for a 1.9. Expensive engine to rebuild if it needs any work (I found this out the hard way). If I had it to do all over again I might have just put a Suzuki 2.0 in it out of a Chevy tracker.
You have to turn the breather line into a fuel return line. It’s larger and keeps up with the flow better. Other than that, just the injection pump and a diesel style fuel filter under the hood. Thanks for watching!
Yes, you can use stock tank. The kit calls for some minor mods for a return line and making a diesel nozzle fit. No on the pump, a diesel has its own injection pump. That’s really it, you use all the stock fuel lines.
I actually found it on Craigslist. Unknown make but it looks EXACTLY like the aluminum radiator that Trailtough.com sells for the Suzuki 1.3. I put the biggest electric fan I could fit. It’s done well on the street, I haven’t wheeled it hard tho so unknown durability on the trail at this point. I have Toyota power steering so I’m unable to use the VW cross-flow radiator the swap calls for. Stay tuned….plans to wheel it soon and I’ll certainly post a video reporting on it. My biggest concerns are the radiator and the VW power steering pump on the trail.
Cool job, Chris. Little Beast.
Glad it is out of the shop. Hope you start having some fun with it now!
Sounds great when you started.
Looking good! I appreciate your honestly on your errors and mistakes
Thanks. Sometimes you win sometimes you loose but it’s all part of the journey.
“LETS GO SPACE TRUCKIN”!!!
That 's the perfect engine for a Zuki!

Did you use stock fuel system if not what modifications were made

hey chris, when you did your swap what did you have to do for your fuel system? can i use my stock tank and pump?
