Ive had two of these. Always amazed by the sheer power it had and capability especially for its day and even compared to some android consoles we have today.
I also have two. Unfortunately for me, one of them has a cracked screen with the right side of the touchscreen no longer working while my other one's batteries is permanently dead. I have replaced with GDP XD+ which I enjoyed for a long time until I think the battery is also either permadead or if I bricked it with custom firmware.
Man, this was a great time to be in tech, I still have 2 of my shield tablets and if it wasn't for both of them having the micro usb port messed up, I'd still be using them today. They're great! And I was able to run ppsspp at 3x and 4x on some titles. I was so pissed we didn't get a second one, all cuz of Nintendo. Blah! Would be nice if Nvidia got back into the mobile gaming space again.
The biggest disadvantage is the non-removable battery in other respects, of course, it is head above Chinese crafts, although the design is 20-30 years out of date -)
Android 5 will lead you nowhere on this device. Nearly every game from the Play Store requires Android 7, nowadays. It might be enough for Retrogaming, it depends on the Emulators.
11 years and still better than some other modern handhelds. 😂
They need to make a new one of these, that would be awesome.
Give it more power and juice for modern handheld games.

I've always wanted one, but I'm still wondering if it's still good in this current year, like playing to Batman Arkham Asylum for instance.
I always loved the form factor. I wish Nvidia would make another like it.
I wonder if it would be possible to gut the insides of this and install a newer motherboard

Weird that ETA Prime released pretty much the same video one day after this... ;)
I own 4 of these

Fun fact Nvidia Shield 720p
Steam deck 800p
11 years later
A lot of motion blur on that screen
