I found your videos a week or so ago. I really like your style! The tutorials are fantastic, and I enjoy your glib humor. I joined the Zelda No death group about a year ago, after suffering with this game for nearly 3 decades, so I have some advice for newer players who are still trying to conquer this oft hard-reviewed absolute gem of a game: 1) Blue Iron Knuckles. Eff these guys. But if you're strapped for life, you can wait out their six round volley by blocking, and they'll go back to slowly throwing daggers leaving massive openings again. This also works on the boss version, as they're the same enemy. 2) Dragon head rooms. There's always a limited number of enemies in these rooms, if you struggling to make it through, just hang out and kill them all. 3) Anywhere a red potion can drop from a statue, or a block, it can also drop an Iron Knuckle. Don't kill him, just reset the screen until you get the potion. This also works for the blocks to the left before the thunderbird. 4) Those lion head rooms are the worst. I recommend slowly down stabbing toward the key, and shifting over one block, creating a stair well to quickly escape. Better players can angle their down stab and create the stairwell in one move. I haven't perfected that yet. 5) Last but certainly not least. Stab cancelling. If you jump, stab, and duck rapidly while in the air you can attack many times in a single jump. This works fantastically against Iron knuckles, the lvl6 dragon boss, and Thunderbird himself. You can also take out the Doomknockers in one jump if you spam down stab in the air. It takes practice, but can make them more trivial. Good luck, and happy gaming!
@@captdude81 hi there thanks for being the first comment on this video! I also appreciate the kind words. I’m surprised if you sat through this for 2 hours haha I definitely changed up the style cause this is not for everyone to watch. It was a great feeling when I did beat this game for the first time(who knew playing this game and not having to start the at the beginning constantly makes this a fun game) great advice as well for blue iron knuckles shield spell is a must and overall shield spell is the 2nd best spell in the game due to cheap cost and survival. The whole goal is literally get your attack level high as fuck early on(I got mine to level 8 in palace 3 without grinding much) and everything falls into place. Definitely use jump spell in horse head rooms and lion heads shield helps a lot. Downstabbing is the best move in the game for doomknockers I feel and I don’t really use sword canceling honestly
It is possible to get past that jump at 16:08 without the Jump spell. My brother and I missed Jump on our first time through. It's one of those pixel perfect jumps, but it's doable. You end up slightly clipping into the wall, just enough footing for another jump.
Is it similar to palace 3 and 7 where if you come up from the elevator that gap to the right you can also make the pixel perfect jumps and get up the ledge even though link doesn’t look like he’ll make that
Interesting I’ll have to watch a video but I know what you’re talking about because link can make jumps that he shouldn’t it’s like based off tiles or something but palace 3 and 7 are the best examples in those parts. Would be cool to try and beat the game without the candle but I’ve only made it past death mountain. Great valley without candle ooh boy

@@Imgoodurbadd I think so, but it has been 3 decades since I last pulled it off.
