You got plenty of candidates for this Wes, frankly I’m surprised that this list was not dominated by X-men titles alone , considering the amount of videos you’ve made this year about how bad the X-men titles has become
A few themes I have detected in these bad books: (1) Events with no stakes or changes for characters, (2) self-insert characters, (3) pandering to social issues on the nose instead of as a background theme, (4) changing behaviors of established characters, and most important (5) a lack of care about how to bring in sales.
A lot of other people struggled with the high cost of living in 2022. But like all dedicated comicbook fans I had my best year ever for saving money in 2022. I want to thank Marvel and DC editorial for hiring writers so shockingly incompetent and unsuitable for comics that my lifelong comicbook addiction is completely gone. My complete delusion that Marvel continuity can ever be salvaged gone too. I used to fear missing out- but every week I'm reassured by the big 2 that I made the right choice. Now I'm out of the abusive relationship with Marvel and DC I'm having fun with my back issues and collections. You forget how great the big 2 used to be. Even the most unremarkable story from 20 years ago is like a masterpiece by modern standards.
Tim drake puffy shoulder wearing gaybat kid had by far the worst art/writing I have ever seen. I got issue one blindly and used it as a fire starter to give it some value.
It’s just baffling to me how that Robin book even got passed by editorial. Go put a 90s Dixon Robin next to this new stuff. The difference in quality and care is absolutely mind numbing.
I don’t think I read a single comic in 2022, I dropped all my comics and switched to manga last January. And it’s been my favourite reading year ever, Berserk, Gantz, Claymore, Vagabond, Attack on Titan, Witch & the Beast, Bakemonogatari, Demon Slayer, Edens Zero, Soul Eater, One Piece, Undead Unluck, Spy X Family, My Hero Academia and just some of the amazing stories I read. And I can’t wait to read more in 2023, I don’t have to worry about horrendous stories and terrible art (Rossmo we’re looking at you) filling my eyeballs.

I got to admit, that "what if Miles Morales Thor" comic got me to buy a Marvel comic for the first time in years. I just had to see the train wreck. It did not disappoint!

Wes I can't believe you didn't put She-Hulk on this list. Every issue is bland & pointless. One issue, all they did was eat brunch. One issue all they did was talk about clothes, etc. The book makes Son of Superman read like Shakespeare.

I assumed that if you're assigned a book, you would research the character, it's history, etc. Comics are supposed to be a fantasy of some kind. I realise there are some "slice of life" books & there is a place for that, but She-Hulk isn't that! This book is dreadful. I keep hoping it gets better and then I get another issue of brunch eating. Maybe next issue they'll go to the farmers market.
The art for Harley Quinn and Robin is so godawful that it almost makes me nostalgic for the terrible Tumblr art. That's gotta be the worst comic book artist to ever to step foot in DC.
FOMO got the best of me in 2022 and I completed (4) of these “worst” series without even reading all the issues…shame on me. 2023 resolution: stop being manipulated by the “Big 2” telling me how good their books are and actually determine it for myself. Glad to say I only read two things covered here (Dark Crisis: YJ and Dark Crisis 1). Fitzmartin *absolutely* deserves Worst of the Year dishonors. As for the main Dark Crisis: the art's great! The story is a bunch of Crisis retreads. (I was also suckered into reading Batman: Fortress 1, but you specifically said issue 4, so I'm not counting that.) Also: "How about we stop trying to make Miles Morales every other super hero...and let him be something new, something different." Amen!

To tell the truth I totally agree with everything you are saying in this video. I was going to say the superman comic should been number 1 but after I finished watching your video . I came to the conclusion that you are right .
I don’t always agree with your takes on the channel, part of the reason why I subscribe so I can get different opinions from other comic book fans but this was pretty spot on!
Looks like Yara Flor became Wonder woman way too quickly. Donna Troy should be wonder woman first after her sister. Yara flor should be on Young justice and Teen titans. These writers are just making new characters and pushing them ahead of established characters. There is no natural flow to anything. Yara flor would be even more inexperienced than Cassandra sandsmark.

Another issue is that WW barely interacted with her family *before* Yara, so adding her was a waste, I mean I don't even know if people know who she is, I mean in stores DC has merch with Yara on it, and I bet a lot of normies, aren't gonna know who she is. Also not just Wonder Woman but her family which is rarely used have *terrible* writers on the stories they have been involved with in recently.
@@RollingDodge Yeah the Wonder Woman "family" has been a flimsy concept since day 1, when Wonder Tot and Wonder Girl (who were both younger versions of Diana) had adventures with present-day WW through the in-story magic of film editing and what-if style stories. She's never been family-centric, and I think part of that is because the "family" logic is different for her as a woman than it is for Supes or Batman (they've never given Diana a kid in any meaningful way, probably bc it wouldn't be seen as "empowering" or whatever). But throwing in Yara as an uncompelling character and asking everyone to be excited makes the "family" that much weaker. Cassie's already a much better Wonder Girl
I recently moved and went from no comic book stores near me to 2 stores. I've been picking up a lot of back issues and Dynamite Comics, but I've passed on almost anything Marvel or DC (with the exception of Spawn/Batman, Marc Silverstri Batman comic, Alex Ross' Fantastic Four book). Just watching these videos turn me off anything from the big two. Edit: Also been buying a LOT of crowdfunding comics and have received most or going to receive them in the next month
I was ready to get back into DC and Marvel around 2015 after getting out of the hobby in the early 2000s, but I was shocked on how bad the product was. I ended up getting into Manga, Euro comics and crowdfunded stuff.

I spent 2022 diving into DC runs from the mid 90's that i missed the first time around and it's been great. Hitman, Starman, Impulse, Superboy, Supergirl, Robin, and soon about to start Dixon's Nightwing series also.
I could look past alot of flaws with the harley comic reading it like a slice of life, but there was just moments that broke my mind from the art that i couldnt follow simple concepts sometimes and its like you have 2 panels with actual plot points and its poorly expressed through the art. It could get a mild "nose exhale" of a laugh maybe once or twice in the beginning but after like 3 or 4 issues im just like "this is going nowhere and im paying like 5$ extra just to squint at the bad art or scratch my head where this issue went and what purpose it served" dropped it, and never looked back

I'll start With my worst of 2022 with a Bad Indie comic I Read is: *Rouges' Gallery by Hannah Rose May and the editor is Heather Antos(What a shock)* when the comic was announced and I read the Premise and I Read it everything it say and you the reader expected. Toxic Fandom are unhinged and evil, social media and crowds are exhausting and they villainies the actress, fans are angry it not accurate to the source material just every cliches of toxic fandom you expected. *It made the comic itself just so boring.* There is things I want to point out they did shows the villain-fans Kyle to be sympathetic but since he an accomplice for two murders he in jail just shilling/simp for the actress. And one the other Villain fans dodge, it not his real name, how log Kyle is even friend with this Dodge guy, like how long? I want to disliked Rogues' Gallery more but what Meghan Fitzmartin did in Dark Crisis Young Justice it made Rogues Gallery better in comparison. I saw community post that Rogues' Gallery is getting a adaptation. Steve Orlando use Brimstone Love as a mouth Piece to Villainies the criticism of Krakoa X men era. The Characters only have origin stories but they have no defining personalities that I don't care any of them. the only is Stitch but they are so annoying, they Went Full Karen to original Titans, who are Stitch's Teachers, Tim Made Stitch an Ashley Sue since Stitch can open portals with no training(which should brought up to avoid Dane the anti christ going to Hell with Billy) and Tim Sheridan had Damaged Khalid Nassor's good name to make Stitch. And Tim Sheridan's Red X goes against Everything of Red X from the Teen Titans cartoon. Red X is a thief not a vengeful villain. And why make Brick the 4th Red X if the 3rd one never gonna show up? And Tim Sheridan blame everyone for not liking his characters because they're queer. Tim need to understand people don't like characters because they queer they don't like them because they are poorly written! I like Zoe and Dessy from Strange Academy are they are lesbian. I like not because they' are lesbian I like them they are Well written character with defining personalities and that writing made me care for them. *Marvel Voice Comunidades 2022.* Marvel and their editors had damaged Sam Alexander along with the legendary Fabian Nicieza. With that horrible story about illegal immigrants. I was hoping it would lead to Sam a new solo series with Nicieza but I was wrong. I blame the Editors such as Sarah Brunstad that gave Fabian the story. Marvel need to stop giving false representation.
I like how Dark Crisis Big Bang explains the stakes: DC now has an infinite multiverse. But that has been the case implicitly since Metal broke the 52 universe structure with "hidden universes" and "the dark multiverse" and explicitly since Death Metal with "Omniverse." So Dark Crisis made the multiverse exactly the same but phrased different. They should have just honored it's namesake and collapsed the multiverse into one universe. But the uncreative, rock bottom writers at DC couldn't handle canon or continuity.
It also takes strong editorial to maintain continuity if everything's happening in the same universe. I've suspected for a while that the whole "omniverse" thing was just a cheat code for not having to worry about continuity
Hopefully, this is the year when both DC Comics and Marvel Comics stop publishing comic books. Once that finally happens, and the two comic book companies stop printing comics, then at long last, the Disney Corporation, and Disney Pictures, and Marvel Studios, and Disney +, and Warner Bros./Discovery, respectively, can all just concentrate on making live action movies, live action series, animated movies and animated series, and just use the information within the old comic book stories as the basis for adaptations. The only comic books that should be printed are the digital ones and even then that's still not saying much because they should only concentrate on the digital comic book stories that are for children. And no more reprints of old comic book stories. The DC Comics and Marvel Comics Multiverses, respectively, should both just be cancelled like a bad T.V. show with low ratings and laid to rest. The two of them had died decades ago. So they should just close up shop for good, and move on. It's just better that way.

I haven't heard anybody mention that Jim Drake- Robin in that new game is gay, and it takes awhile to make a game. I think the hack writer was assigned to ease ppl into gay Jim, but the game ppl are the ones that wanted to make one of that Bat-Kids gay, and Tim was sacrificed.. Good list. I feel like I was suckered into buying the Wonder Girl books from that shitty event. The connecting covers were pretty cool, but I wish Yara's story could've been fleshed out this year rather her be just another person in all these other stories. Why can't they pair Joelle Jones with a great writer?
This episode points to the fact that editing is the real problem...editors at the Big 2 let these writers publish this garbage. Additionally, if you go out of your way to annoy the fan base that is buying 3-5 books a week...you should expect you will pay a price. They seemed surprised constantly that lecturing comics that ignore all previous character development are not popular. You would think the history of comic letter pages and fan feedback would deter them just a little.

They need to make a Aquaman crisis event and take inspiration from flashpoint and blackest night and court of owls. All these other heroes have their big storylines but Aquaman has none and he's like a top 10 dc hero. I would say wonder woman needs a event too.

I am happy to say that I only read and bought one of the books on your Worst Comics list: Dark Crisis 8. The only reason I read and bought this was because I started this journey with Dark Crisis issue 1 and had to finish it for completist sake. Although I was looking forward to Action Comics going forward with Metallo and hopeful for Williamson's Superman after my initial read of Action 1050, I am now fearful again for the future of Clark Kent Superman stories and the Superman corner of the DC universe in the next 2-3 years. The reason for my fears is my 2nd read of Action 1050 and learning the plan for Action going forward. Splitting each issue into 3 stories told by 3 very different creators is a disjointed, compressed storytelling nightmare coming soon to an LCS near you. Just look how disjointed the art and story progression felt with such different art styles through Action 1050. Well, I guess I can get my Superman fix from World's Finest!

I don't mind slower pace stories if well done. Sometimes it can benefit a story to slow down the pace. Comics doesn't do it well. It so slow to the point of boredom, due to nothing going on. For they fail to set up anything or if they do set up something, they forget about it or change their mind at the last moment. Leading to all that build up being for nothing. Which another issue with slow pacing for comics is the cost. 5 bucks a issue. with around 20 pages per issue. For that price and low amount of content. They need super well tight near perfect pacing. Which this wouldn't be a issue if they had a better business plan, than nickel and dime their few reminding readers to try and make up for all their failures.
With the notable,consistency- destroying cartoon art of comic # 10, and the first 2, there continues to be some really noteworthy art out there. Too bad this talent is being wasted on these woke,garbage monsterpieces.

A few themes I have detected in these bad books: (1) Events with no stakes or changes for characters, (2) self-insert characters, (3) pandering to social issues on the nose instead of as a background theme, (4) changing behaviors of established characters, and most important (5) a lack of care about how to bring in sales.
Marvel and DC have forgot what really matters. Good written stories. The fans deserve that. 🖖

I've spent my money on manga, light novels, and classic comics. I've given up on modern X-Men/Marvel. Looks like I made the right call.
A lot of other people struggled with the high cost of living in 2022. But like all dedicated comicbook fans I had my best year ever for saving money in 2022. I want to thank Marvel and DC editorial for hiring writers so shockingly incompetent and unsuitable for comics that my lifelong comicbook addiction is completely gone. My complete delusion that Marvel continuity can ever be salvaged gone too. I used to fear missing out- but every week I'm reassured by the big 2 that I made the right choice. Now I'm out of the abusive relationship with Marvel and DC I'm having fun with my back issues and collections. You forget how great the big 2 used to be. Even the most unremarkable story from 20 years ago is like a masterpiece by modern standards.
Tim drake puffy shoulder wearing gaybat kid had by far the worst art/writing I have ever seen. I got issue one blindly and used it as a fire starter to give it some value.

It’s just baffling to me how that Robin book even got passed by editorial. Go put a 90s Dixon Robin next to this new stuff. The difference in quality and care is absolutely mind numbing.
I don’t think I read a single comic in 2022, I dropped all my comics and switched to manga last January. And it’s been my favourite reading year ever, Berserk, Gantz, Claymore, Vagabond, Attack on Titan, Witch & the Beast, Bakemonogatari, Demon Slayer, Edens Zero, Soul Eater, One Piece, Undead Unluck, Spy X Family, My Hero Academia and just some of the amazing stories I read. And I can’t wait to read more in 2023, I don’t have to worry about horrendous stories and terrible art (Rossmo we’re looking at you) filling my eyeballs.
If you like manga you should give light novels a try. I found that I enjoyed Bakemonogatari better as a LN than a manga.

I actually never heard of Rainbow Rowell. I assumed that if you're assigned a book, you would research the character, it's history, etc. Comics are supposed to be a fantasy of some kind. I realise there are some "slice of life" books & there is a place for that, but She-Hulk isn't that!

Glad to say I only read two things covered here (Dark Crisis: YJ and Dark Crisis 1). Fitzmartin *absolutely* deserves Worst of the Year dishonors. As for the main Dark Crisis: the art's great! The story is a bunch of Crisis retreads. (I was also suckered into reading Batman: Fortress 1, but you specifically said issue 4, so I'm not counting that.) Also: "How about we stop trying to make Miles Morales every other super hero...and let him be something new, something different." Amen!

Looks like Yara Flor became Wonder woman way too quickly. Donna Troy should be wonder woman first after her sister. Yara flor should be on Young justice and Teen titans. These writers are just making new characters and pushing them ahead of established characters. There is no natural flow to anything. Yara flor would be even more inexperienced than Cassandra sandsmark.
Not to mention that I read the whole Yara Wonder Girl miniseries and am still confused as to why she wants to be a hero or is even considered one

Another issue is that WW barely interacted with her family *before* Yara, so adding her was a waste, I mean I don't even know if people know who she is, I mean in stores DC has merch with Yara on it, and I bet a lot of normies, aren't gonna know who she is. Also not just Wonder Woman but her family which is rarely used have *terrible* writers on the stories they have been involved with in recently.
@@RollingDodge Yeah the Wonder Woman "family" has been a flimsy concept since day 1, when Wonder Tot and Wonder Girl (who were both younger versions of Diana) had adventures with present-day WW through the in-story magic of film editing and what-if style stories. She's never been family-centric, and I think part of that is because the "family" logic is different for her as a woman than it is for Supes or Batman (they've never given Diana a kid in any meaningful way, probably bc it wouldn't be seen as "empowering" or whatever). But throwing in Yara as an uncompelling character and asking everyone to be excited makes the "family" that much weaker. Cassie's already a much better Wonder Girl

I recently moved and went from no comic book stores near me to 2 stores. I've been picking up a lot of back issues and Dynamite Comics, but I've passed on almost anything Marvel or DC (with the exception of Spawn/Batman, Marc Silverstri Batman comic, Alex Ross' Fantastic Four book). Just watching these videos turn me off anything from the big two.
Edit: Also been buying a LOT of crowdfunding comics and have received most or going to receive them in the next month
I was ready to get back into DC and Marvel around 2015 after getting out of the hobby in the early 2000s, but I was shocked on how bad the product was. I ended up getting into Manga, Euro comics and crowdfunded stuff.

I spent 2022 diving into DC runs from the mid 90's that i missed the first time around and it's been great. Hitman, Starman, Impulse, Superboy, Supergirl, Robin, and soon about to start Dixon's Nightwing series also.
I could look past alot of flaws with the harley comic reading it like a slice of life, but there was just moments that broke my mind from the art that i couldnt follow simple concepts sometimes and its like you have 2 panels with actual plot points and its poorly expressed through the art. It could get a mild "nose exhale" of a laugh maybe once or twice in the beginning but after like 3 or 4 issues im just like "this is going nowhere and im paying like 5$ extra just to squint at the bad art or scratch my head where this issue went and what purpose it served" dropped it, and never looked back
Wes, as Someone who want to promote and recommend Indie Comics and original IPs we need to shows the bad Indie comics to the world so people can avoid those bad indie comics at all cost. Remember I put Save Yourself(from Boom Studios) as the Worst Comic of 2021.
I'll start With my worst of 2022 with a Bad Indie comic I Read is:
*Rouges' Gallery by Hannah Rose May and the editor is Heather Antos(What a shock)* when the comic was announced and I read the Premise and I Read it everything it say and you the reader expected. Toxic Fandom are unhinged and evil, social media and crowds are exhausting and they villainies the actress, fans are angry it not accurate to the source material just every cliches of toxic fandom you expected. *It made the comic itself just so boring.* There is things I want to point out they did shows the villain-fans Kyle to be sympathetic but since he an accomplice for two murders he in jail just shilling/simp for the actress. And one the other Villain fans dodge, it not his real name, how log Kyle is even friend with this Dodge guy, like how long? I want to disliked Rogues' Gallery more but what Meghan Fitzmartin did in Dark Crisis Young Justice it made Rogues Gallery better in comparison. I saw community post that Rogues' Gallery is getting a adaptation. I wouldn't hold my breath comic that exist recently have a slim chance getting a adaption, I remember two image comics The Shadecraft and Skwyard is getting a adaption and there news update for years. Paper Girl got cancelled after one season on Amazon of all things and Even there no news update on Rick Remender's Tokyo Ghost movie.

By using Min Mie as a mouth piece of Women aren't allow to do martial arts or participate in trials and Wu Ao Shi is proof just something is because something traditional doesn't mean it good"

Lei Kung Trained his daughter Sparrow and Lei Kung founded Army of Thunder where Lei Kung a man trained all The Woman of K'un Lun to overthrow Nu-An as Yu-Ti and his Corruption.
*Lei Kung is the real one who broke tradition and he is the real one is making a change When he'd become the New Yu-Ti. "Alyssa Wong is Changing history and Gaslighting the Audience old and new!"* And she had to drag down Sparrow, a character created by Kaare Andrews to believe in Alyssa Wong's Mouthpiece message. Ignoring the Fact Lei Kung is Sparrow's father is the one who trained her in the first place and motive her to become K'un Lun Thunder when Lei Kung Died. You know the famous saying a man take credit for a woman's work so Alyssa Wong thinks it's not the same if it is the other way around? It Bias and I don't tolerate that.
As for Lin Lie Now despite him having flaws of having Chi poisonings from the Shards in his Hands and arms, he had training and the One Bully guy that literally fade into the background. I call Lin Lei a Gray Stu because Shou Lao *"gives"* him the iron fist powers for a reason that is never revealed. And A.X.E Tie In Lin Lei intervene with Loki's Judgement and lifted Mjolnir. Yes it was illusion bu it was Loki's Judgement. Lin Lei told Loki *I'm Untraditional I can't kill this Dragon he my friend* because gaslighting the tradition is bad mouth piece message the Alyssa Wong made with Wu Ao Shi, and Shou Lao did save Lin Lie But Shou Lao is literally call Shou Lao the Undying, the dragon can comeback to live later. Lin Lei told Shou Lao said many taken your power and only few granted freely and *"all I want is your heart if you're willing to give me"* And then Shou Lao gave Lin Lie the Iron Fist Mark. *Lin Lie is the Only Iron Fist that never beat Shou Lao.* Both his Powers and Mark was "given" to him. *That makes Lin Lie a Gary Stu.*
The only iron Fist I remember was given power was Pei but that was in a dire situation when Davos kill Gork. Pei was trained both In K'un Lun and Danny Rand Himself later and she beat the Shou Lao didn't kill the dragon but still beat him buy punching through the dragon's chest. She Earns her Iron Fist Mark but Marvel and Alyssa Wong took that away from her.
And about Danny Rand he just obsessed trying to find Lin Lei in the entire series. Lin Lei called Danny the Guy from the Subway. Now I would ignore that but after that and before Lin Lei agreed Danny Rand to trained him Danny Rand said "I'll teach you everything you know about being an Iron Fist. Well, The Only kind of Iron Fist I know how to be is Me" My God.... *Danny Rand has the knowledge of Every Iron Fist the came before him.* Danny Rand was with Orson Randall. Danny Rand Told Hope Summers the story of Fongji Wu The Phoenix Iron Fist.

So..... *Alyssa Wong's Iron Fist is Dead On Arrival Lin Lie Becoming Iron Fist is literally a Publicity Stunt Just Like Tom Taylor did With Jon Kent being Bisexual.* I still remember Alyssa Wong compare Her Iron Fist to Tom Taylor's Jon Kent in her IGN interview. As Her Asian Iron Fist is a step forward for diversity. Before that she said Pei is a support character which is a big Lie from her. Jesus... Both Alyssa Wong and Tom Taylor are hacks just ruin characters that was fine before Wong and Taylor done their changes for twitter clouts. It make perfect sense the Iron Fist comic is dead on arrival because the issue 5 comic cover shown that Lin Lei was supposed to Fight Loki along with Min Mie and The Bully guy. The Characters only have origin stories but they have no defining personalities that I don't care any of them. the only is Stitch but they are so annoying, they Went Full Karen to original Titans, who are Stitch's Teachers, Tim Made Stitch an Ashley Sue since Stitch can open portals with no training(which should brought up to avoid Dane the anti christ going to Hell with Billy) and Tim Sheridan had Damaged Khalid Nassor's good name to make Stitch. And Tim Sheridan's Red X goes against Everything of Red X from the Teen Titans cartoon. Red X is a thief not a vengeful villain. And why make Brick the 4th Red X if the 3rd one never gonna show up? And Tim Sheridan blame everyone for not liking his characters because they're queer. Tim need to understand people don't like characters because they queer they don't like them because they are poorly written! I like Zoe and Dessy from Strange Academy are they are lesbian. I like not because they' are lesbian I like them they are Well written character with defining personalities and that writing made me care for them.
*Marvel Voice Comunidades 2022.* Marvel and their editors had damaged Sam Alexander along with the legendary Fabian Nicieza. With that horrible story about illegal immigrants. I was hoping it would lead to Sam a new solo series with Nicieza but I was wrong. I blame the Editors such as Sarah Brunstad that gave Fabian the story. Marvel need to stop giving false representation.

I like how Dark Crisis Big Bang explains the stakes: DC now has an infinite multiverse. But that has been the case implicitly since Metal broke the 52 universe structure with "hidden universes" and "the dark multiverse" and explicitly since Death Metal with "Omniverse." So Dark Crisis made the multiverse exactly the same but phrased different. They should have just honored it's namesake and collapsed the multiverse into one universe. But the uncreative, rock bottom writers at DC couldn't handle canon or continuity.
It also takes strong editorial to maintain continuity if everything's happening in the same universe. I've suspected for a while that the whole "omniverse" thing was just a cheat code for not having to worry about continuity

Hopefully, this is the year when both DC Comics and Marvel Comics stop publishing comic books. Once that finally happens, and the two comic book companies stop printing comics, then at long last, the Disney Corporation, and Disney Pictures, and Marvel Studios, and Disney +, and Warner Bros./Discovery, respectively, can all just concentrate on making live action movies, live action series, animated movies and animated series, and just use the information within the old comic book stories as the basis for adaptations.
The only comic books that should be printed are the digital ones and even then that's still not saying much because they should only concentrate on the digital comic book stories that are for children. And no more reprints of old comic book stories. The DC Comics and Marvel Comics Multiverses, respectively, should both just be cancelled like a bad T.V. show with low ratings and laid to rest. The two of them had died decades ago. So they should just close up shop for good, and move on. It's just better that way.

I haven't heard anybody mention that Jim Drake- Robin in that new game is gay, and it takes awhile to make a game. I think the hack writer was assigned to ease ppl into gay Jim, but the game ppl are the ones that wanted to make one of that Bat-Kids gay, and Tim was sacrificed.. Good list. I feel like I was suckered into buying the Wonder Girl books from that shitty event. The connecting covers were pretty cool, but I wish Yara's story could've been fleshed out this year rather her be just another person in all these other stories. Why can't they pair Joelle Jones with a great writer?
This episode points to the fact that editing is the real problem...editors at the Big 2 let these writers publish this garbage. Additionally, if you go out of your way to annoy the fan base that is buying 3-5 books a week...you should expect you will pay a price. They seemed surprised constantly that lecturing comics that ignore all previous character development are not popular. You would think the history of comic letter pages and fan feedback would deter them just a little.

Happy New Year Wes.This is a good list.I would have put JL vs LoSH of Brian Michael Bendis terrible stuff and Wolverine and X-Force of Benjamin Percy in a list too.Percy turned Beast into a irredeemable son of a bitch and the most evil mutant in this Krakoa Era.Even Marvel retcons out all this stuff I never will to see Hank MCcoy character like a hero again.

They need to make a Aquaman crisis event and take inspiration from flashpoint and blackest night and court of owls. All these other heroes have their big storylines but Aquaman has none and he's like a top 10 dc hero. I would say wonder woman needs a event too.

I am happy to say that I only read and bought one of the books on your Worst Comics list: Dark Crisis 8. The only reason I read and bought this was because I started this journey with Dark Crisis issue 1 and had to finish it for completist sake. Although I was looking forward to Action Comics going forward with Metallo and hopeful for Williamson's Superman after my initial read of Action 1050, I am now fearful again for the future of Clark Kent Superman stories and the Superman corner of the DC universe in the next 2-3 years. The reason for my fears is my 2nd read of Action 1050 and learning the plan for Action going forward. Splitting each issue into 3 stories told by 3 very different creators is a disjointed, compressed storytelling nightmare coming soon to an LCS near you. Just look how disjointed the art and story progression felt with such different art styles through Action 1050. Well, I guess I can get my Superman fix from World's Finest!

When dark nights metal and heroes in crisis happened, plus Geoff Johns got pushed by Didio, who also undid most, if not all of Johns' Rebirth work
Doomsday clock is very good, but it is made irrelevant by dark nights metal and death metal!

I don't mind slower pace stories if well done. Sometimes it can benefit a story to slow down the pace. Comics doesn't do it well. It so slow to the point of boredom, due to nothing going on. For they fail to set up anything or if they do set up something, they forget about it or change their mind at the last moment. Leading to all that build up being for nothing. Which another issue with slow pacing for comics is the cost. 5 bucks a issue. with around 20 pages per issue. For that price and low amount of content. They need super well tight near perfect pacing. Which this wouldn't be a issue if they had a better business plan, than nickel and dime their few reminding readers to try and make up for all their failures.

I'm not saying he's a great guy or excusing the "sOn oF kAl-El Is A tOp-SeLlEr" nonsense, but DCeased has been consistently fun from the start. I dropped Nightwing after 6 issues because it seemed like it was going nowhere and they took Redondo off it (briefly)
