It is important to know your history. The Oriental Orthodox churches including Ethiopian and Armenian (Armenia was actually the first Christian country) split from the rest of Christendom 1500 years ago. The Catholic Church and Eastern Orthodox Church only split 850 years ago and theologically have far more in common. Peace be with you!

I love that Bob accepted Jesus before he died. I love that he's talkin Propaganda splitting people apart in hate, but if we do it right, it's all love. It's supposed to be all love. People not for love, they're for themselves. Men not for love want the money. Men not for love will exploit man to get money. Men not for love will use their money to exploit women in prostitution. That's not love. Love is tough. Love takes two. Hate only takes one. Be tough gong, be Iron like Lion in Zion, be a lover. Love you Bob... Your words of peace hit soooo much harder in these times of darkness, lies, and war. Love you Bob! Love you forever. We play some chill soccer up in Heaven, rite?

Over 3000 years before Christianity, the Ancient Egyptians created the 42 negative confessions, Maat, which one must follow to enter the next realm ("to be saved").
The Ten Commandments are a subset of Maat.
If Jesus Christ (mythical or not) followed the Ten Commandments, he followed Maat.
Since Jews, Christians and Muslims follow the Ten Commandments they follow Maat.
If other religions have similar laws they follow Maat.
Bob Marley and Haile Selassie followed the Ten Commandments thus Maat.
In the beginning, at least over 5000 years ago, there was Maat.
No need to follow a "god" or "man-made gods", just follow the earliest set of laws, Maat.
The role of Rastafarism was to reconnect formerly enslaved black people in the West to Africa via H.I.M. Haile Selassie and Ethiopia. And Reggae music. Mission accomplished.

Our Rasta brothers and sisters are from st marks lineage and queen Candice of ethiopia was married to king Solomon. One of the oldest branches of Christianity with its head in ethipia but same roots as copts in Alexandria Egypt. Rasta is Christian just Christian elsewhere don't deify Selasie I. Rasta brothers and sisters believe in Jesus Christ and obey the law an an example to live life humble and rely only on Jehovah for their bread.

The connection betwwen the Rastafari movement and the Ethiopian orthodox church, is that Haile Selassie was a member of that church. Bob was a good musician and singer, but in terms of politics and other things going on in the world, he was completely blinded by he's faith. Selassie sent the Orthodox Church to Jamaica to convert the Rastas to Orthodox Christianity, not to become a part of Rastafari

    • @eminem13001
      @eminem13001 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

He wasn’t blinded by his faith. His Rastafarian belief was to bring peace to all people to unite. And that Rastafarian was doing what you wanted to do.
It’s good he became an Ethiopian Christian but he sang about Jesus even when he was a young boy. Rastafarian meant so much more too him than what people believe

African spirituality, never says you must be "either/or" in terms of religion. Haile Selassie said "i am christian yes, but as King i am christian, muslim and pagan." His Majesty sent the EOC to the west to teach as much as to learn. Remember the EOC became an independent body in 1954 under His Majesty's order, before that it was governed by the egyptian (coptic) church. Rastafari on the other hand was independent from 1930(even before). There are many Rasta who are baptised in the EOC, not as converts but as inheritors of an ancient tradition, the livity of Rastas more closely resemble the way of life the bahatawi. The Bahatawi are keepers of the mystic tradition of ethiopian christianity and they themselves are some times at odds with the official church. The mystic traditions are where the unity of spirit is (Rasta, Sadhu, Sufi, Bahatawi), dogmatic religion only serves to militate us against the brotherhood of humanity.

Rasta may be ok with being in multiple religions but Orthodox isn't. He would've had to stop practicing Rasta in order to join the Orthodox church. Since he received an Orthodox funeral, he would've converted.

That way of thinking is a mistake and the reason why the seeds of witchcraft are sown so deep into the african continent. You can't commune with both light and darkness.
When you choose to follow Christ you must have no other...period.
