    Randy Castillo was badass on the drums and saw him three times with Ozzy Osbourne, in 1986, 1988, and in 1992... RIP Randy Castillo

      The best live I saw him was in 1986 on Ozzy's The Ultimate Sin tour. Which by the way Metallica was the opening act, with Cliff Burton. It was about month or two before Cliff sadly died....

    I met him at a drum clinic back in '88. Really, really nice guy. And he was fully aware of his single stroke "prowess", kinda joking about it. "That's gotten me every job I've ever had." Gone too soon. RIP, my good man.

    Something to dwell on. These were Tama Granstar Customs I believe. Notice the color scheme? Mind you, this was in 1988. Who did the same thing 3 years later with a Tama Artstar Custom? Hint- he is from Denmark.

    bfd Single strokes top and bottom. No dynamics. No real hands like Piace or Palmer.

    • @jvsmeds
      @jvsmeds ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I don't see any videos on your page showing us your incredible better than Randy drumming. Who have you played for or are you just a keyboard cowboy?

    • @drummersinger5324
      @drummersinger5324 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jvsmeds THe only impressive thing about heavy hard rock or metal drumming is the endurance part of the physical event. If you want to see "hands that have studied you better start looking at jazz guys primarily. There have been a few great hands in arena rock. A few... MItch Mitchell... Ian Paice. Carl Palmer..John Bonham and B J Wison. The alkie that dies too young from Procol Harum had a jazz and symphonic backbone in him. .Very few have studied and mastered rudiments. This drummer hasn't . He is a single stroke righthand dominant like most of them. He has no touch in dynamics either. And fuck a drum set that size in the butt with no grease...Talk about poser??? LOL Tommy Aldrich is the best at this kind of arena rock.

    • @zeppelinrules1077

      Its called rock drumming!. The dynamics are there its just everything is 10x louder 😂. Get where your coming from but it doesn't always need to be technical

      @@drummersinger5324i completely agree and disagree on this comment 😂 like i said on the original post...drumming doesn't always have to be the most advanced playing you've ever heard, there is a time & place for everything! But over playing is one of the biggest problems drummers face, sometimes a good solid single stroke groove is all you need & it will add more to the song than all the rudiments you could ever dream of 😂😂 and..ENDURANCE! that isn't something too be taken lightly no matter the style of music
