@Don Gato....Actually. NO...think about it, every generation gets better at least technically, not with feel. That's a gift and can't be learned. I guess it depends on how you define better. In my humble opinion Carmine Appice had equally as good fills as Bonham and chops as good if not better, considering Bonham learned from Carmine. Best instructional Bonzo style video i've ever seen! Played with a awesome reality and better than a thousand drummers play!
Great breakdown, adds to my appreciation for Bonham whose drumming was simple / not simple!

So at 45 I finally understood how to count off Rock and Roll!!!!
Well, you beat me by 20 years. You're never too old, as they say.
Me too!
i'm not a drummer but that was really cool how you broke these drum licks down 👍
i am a drummer and this guy is probably the best drummer on drumeo
I love that not only are you playing it correctly, but youre even using the iconic Ludwig set in the right color. Great shit man.
Jesus Christ the tone on that drum kit is so much like what Bonham had. Freaking love it!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
This is incredible, you sound great my friend! Thanks for such a powerful presentation Brian!
Thanks for the video Mr. Drumeo! You just can't stop Rock n Roll!
Great video. Awesome sound on your kit. Did Bonham proud.
The only guy that actually sounds like John Bonham !
( besides Jason Bonham)
Great lesson in only a few minutes! Brian , you are incredibly talented ! Way way up my list of favorite drummers now! Totally earned too 🥁😎
Nailed it mate,I see so many drummers not playing those ghosties in Rock n Roll,it makes the song and provides the train track groove.
Great lesson! Thank you very much Brian!
That bass drums sounds amazing. Awesome lesson
I wish I had this in the Internet so easily shown 30 years ago! Thanks for sharing, man. Great sounding kit and great skills you got! Peace from South Brazil!
Brian really gets it. He breaks down Bonham's stuff with such ease. He's very good.
I was pondering this morning listening to "Good Times Bad Times", if you can play Bonham, you can play anything.
Lick 1 - 0:23
Lick 2 - 1:39
Lick 3 - 2:43
Lick 4 - 4:02
Lick 5 - 5:09
The Vistalites were a perfect cherry on top of this great video.
No When the Levee Breaks?
Dude, you rock! Excellent instruction and massive chops. I’m a guitar player not a drummer and still stayed to the end. 😜
My favorite drum video ever. The best drummer in the history explained by a super cool teacher. Thanks Drumeo and thanks Brian, surely you are the second one...
Brian is such a beast. Love this guy. Bonzo was king and Brian really nails it
Accurate and to the point. Well done. Others should take note.
Hey THANK YOU man-you did a really good job! Including the written parts is super helpful, essential actually. Your drumset sounds awesome, too! Great stuff!!
First time watching you play Brian! I must say I am very impressed, awesome attitude and clarity explaining the licks! PS: totally agree: if only Bonham would have counted in Rock N' Roll...haha
AND .. the both handed 8th notes on the snare and hi-hats together .... MANY drummers don't cover it that way! Nice point!
Check out his drumming on Zack Wylde's Pride and Glory album from like 1996....smoking!!!
Not in a billion lifetimes would I have ever dreamed of even thinking playing these licks. Even when I bought a kit I limited myself by conceding to defeat telling myself realistically I'll probably only get to a point and hit a wall. I've hit plenty of walls but with videos like this and a few other drummers on you tube I have much hope
