Words can't describe how happy I was to see this just pop up in my notifications...I literally just checked yesterday and was like 'Wait, it's really been 5 months since a release?! I hope Mike's ok'
Synchronicity is a strange thing that just happens sometimes. I decided to binge a bunch of his videos a day or two ago randomly after not watching one since the last… and he uploads. Happens weirdly frequently enough that coincidence just doesn’t cover it all.
Just in case, there IS a twitter account. At least you can check if there is any obvious issues, or if it's just "working for a long time on something."

I love how his videos are just good old honest sword making videos, with funny bits spread out across the video.. No dubstep music in the back, no crazy unneeded cinematic shots. Can't get more perfect than this
Watching the whole section with cutting out those diagonal slots I just kept thinking "man that would be much faster if you had a mill". I go back and forth between thinking it would be really cool to see what Michael could do with a fully kitted out shop and thinking that the figuring out how to make do is the most interesting part to watch
I was thinking the same. Then I wondered if cutting out the larger hole and welding the slots in after would've been an easier alternative. Still, clean-up, so that's debatable.
In my opinion doing things his way makes it art instead of just fabrication. A waterjet would be fast and easy way to cut hardox etc. Maybe a collab with Fireball tool after his shop is completed so we could see the "CAD" approach?
I know of no cat who would do this. Every cat I know of, had or have would be like: "Is this for me?" And would at least sniff it. Even when cutting onions my cat (who knows onions!!) always sniffs them and then instantly regrets it.. I think this one has seen enough things in his shop to trust his advice...

Yaaaay new mike stuff Edit: watched this with a buddy and he said “why does he do everything by hand? Would be way faster with a water jet or plasma cutting table”. I have never been more disappointed in a friend in my life

Hey Mike, just wanted to say glad you're back. I've been teaching myself to weld on my breaks and lunches at work. It's 22 guage to 16 guage sheet metal and it's galvanized, so it's rough but I plan to take my welding test this week. I love Mike's ability to overcome his tool limitations with ingenuity but these ingenious workarounds usually seem incredibly time intensive.
