I love that you switched back to the old intro
I was growing fond of the '80s Late-night Cinemax type music myself.
I like the new intro more as a outro
I prefer the old intro so much more. Love that quote for some reason.
the commute out was a nice touch too
I also like the old intro.
My old install lead used to tell me
“ I don’t want to ever see you going down or going up the stairs with an empty hands”
And that stuck with me from then on.
It’s true!!!!! It’s important to be efficient with your time.
Every time I have to go to the van, I try to carry something with me that I am done using. I don't like making empty handed trips in either direction.
My very first boss in this trade told me the exact same thing. Don’t go anywhere empty handed. I pass it on to newer hires as well. Love this trade
Even if all you got is your cock, you better be holding it every step up to the roof
Even after the brightener, that condenser still had a hard time letting water through.....dang.
About to hit my one year as an HVAC tech mainly doing commercial install. Your videos have helped me on the service side immensely and made me more valuable. I’m finally starting to do more service now and am finding a passion for the trade. Thank you Chris
So dope man. In trade school right now learning the trade and its such a cool industry
Rack systems are the BANE of my existence… there’s usually always an exhaust fan right next to the coil, the customer won’t let us install a stack on the exhaust so the coil is so impacted with grease it’s insane. Last week I had an emergency call for a WIF on a rack where I chemically cleaned the coil 5 times and it just wouldn’t get all that grease out. Head pressure was exceeding 400psi, so I had to recover like 2LBS of refrigerant just to get the box down to 10°F. Was there till 2am…. We had to go back the next day with the strongest cleaner we could find, that shit will burn your skin off man…
my old company had an account like this. brand new construction at a restaurant that i referred to as the grease box. the main exhaust is right next to their kitchen RTU and its literally 10 inches off the condenser coil. it cant even run in the summer, the microchannel gets plugged within a week. of course nothing was ever done to remedy the issue.
I saw how funky n old looking that time clock was and said "yup he's replacing the clock.
One thing I will point out is that defrost clock is coated in dust. Electronics will act weird and die from dust because it is electricallly conductive. It maybe a little risky brushing or blowing off the clocks with a lot of force but try to keep them clean. Great videos!
Awesome video Chris! I’m learning more and more from you with each new video I watch. I start trade school for HVACR on Aug. 29th, so every new video you post helps me build on my knowledge. Thanks again Chris! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
That's awesome, good luck in trade school
11:20 The bang in background was so well timed
Tip a nitrogen tank can replace blowing a condenser out with air.
Just be careful or you'll lay fins over worse than a pressure sprayer!
I love hearing how these videos are helping the new techs to the industry!!
You’re always a good example of how we should be as techs. Thanks Chris!
Your Knowledge is Priceless to your Customers and your Viewers. 👍🙏
Greetings from southern Germany, I’ve started my apprenticeship in the HVACR field last September, Voit Videos are helping me to better understand it and just seeing a „field expert“ working is helping me out as well (sorry if my English might not be the best😅😅)
I lived in Germany for 6 month’s it was an awesome experience.
Greetings from Richmond VA
Service tip*
An air compressor just with air to blow condenser out should be first choice.
Then air with stoddard solvent pickup tube, then water then chemicals when grease is involved.
Triage.
I love working on semi hermetics. Any compressor i can rebuild, im a fan of. Not hating on a scroll....but its a one and done type. Turning wrenches is peaceful. Another great video Chris
Thanks bud
Can you plug the holes next to that time clock? Seems like a bunch of airflow going through them with dust bunny muck junk building up on the components there.
I liked the new intro🤔. Anyhoo, the best advice you gave in this video was, "I know sometimes you just want to cut corners and just blast through the job, but that's when the biggest mistakes happen. 🤔" Thanks Chris 👍
Thanks bud
The life of a Ref tech.. Keep truckin brother ✊️
Your in my old stomping grounds but extended down to the boarder incl San Diego.
I always admire your expertise and professionalism in troubleshooting. Keep up the good work Chris.
I appreciate that

Chris, I swear one of these days we need a collab video with Nor-Cal Dave and yourself running some calls together in your neck of the woods Chris. I would love to see that happen someday. Otherwise great job as usual.
Dave could hop on his Harley and cruise down the coast. Maybe he can strap Tippins on the back of his hog. 😂😂
Your mantra of looking at the big picture proved to be key in handling the situation once again. I share it with the guys I work with and tell them to watch your videos. Keep them coming! 👍🏼
Another great video yes the sacrifices that you make when you run you own company. Those time clocks always look funny to me the way they mount everything on an open PWB I would have thought that they would put them in a case to stop dust getting into them.
11:25 It's always funny when you turn something on and you hear a lound clang somewhere.
great vibes
I didn't work HVAC, but can emphasize on being on call. Great troubleshooting and hopefully you didn't upset the wife too much!
I am not in this trade but I love watching the videos because of your work ethic and the way you diagnose problems which could be translated to other types of jobs
I would have loved to see the back of that defrost clock... I see lots of broken/cold solder joints on the outputs of relays. Obviously I wouldn't solder it back if i had a replacement but I have done it in the past to get by.. 😉 Good job as always! You do an awesome job!
You had the patience to video on call you got more patience than me.good video
Good ole Sunday matinee ...Thx
You're a clone of me. A stickler for condenser cleanliness and a good attitude. I hope you found a good employee.
The fans were off because it was stuck in defrost. Good find, I had issues with a Paragon not going into defrost the other day and the coil was icing over.....
the fans were off because the evap is warm, defrost terminator, keeps them off.the problem was the high pressure switch, triping, due to dirty condenser coil.but the timer was wonky.
I love those long drive calls,2hr work 8hrs drive time 😅
LOVE watching your vids man, thanks for making them.
love that the office is growing some character.
Hi. Chris.
Thanks for. The video. And. The. View. That was cool stuff.
😅
Nice video chris! Love ur videos! I learn alot from you from watching these videos, i want to be an HVAC Technician when I grow up! For now I draw these units that you work on!After some videos I went & researched some of the units in your videos! I even learned how to use measurequick from your videos! I also make videos on HVAC, just filming them! Sometimes I make model acs and I play like the unit is real & input info in the measurequick! That was compressor sounds like dirt, iam actually just 12
So you prepare the dinner? Man I love to cook for my family. If I'd were at your place I'd work with you. I guess your family is housed to that. My respect to ya all!
13:30 did you forget to set the clocks right? When you closed it up, they were wildly differing...
Haven't commented in a while but been watching. All great viewing so keep going. All the best.
Thanks
You are the hero to many!
Thanks
Great Video Chris! Overtime service calls are a challege but you had a great attitude looking for opportunities to help the customer. Sense of awareness!!
Companies are losing clients while others are gaining new clients due to the huge recent acquisitions. I have a feeling i know where this is 🤭
Romoland the valley of nothing and Heat used to work for a company delivering out that way I don't miss that place
Appreciate you sharing the video. Excellent job
Good job Sr
Great video. Good job and nice work. Thank you for sharing
Just had my first 30 hour shift. I’ll try for 36 next time 😂
Be safe out there and everyone use the power of observation
Your videos are very valuable to me as I'm new in the trade. Keep them coming!
Thanks for watching
A lot of times while I was doing service in Texas, i'd opt for doing A/C repairs AFTER sunset, to save me from heat stroke.
Had a Constable arrest me during a heat stroke.
Spent 24 hours in the county jail.
Thank God it was cold in there!
Well that sounds like quit the adventure
@@HVACRVIDEOS You are in your early prime.
You adventure is beginning !
Spoilers*
It only gets worse as you fight chaos.
@@HVACRVIDEOS They dropped the public intox charge as I asked the judge to sentence me for 90 days.
She laughed and told me to get back to work!
It looked like the ?c unit? Defrost clock had some cooked/worn through wires- figured that was the issue lol.
Thanks for video 🙌👌😊👍🙏🍀
Not going to lie the resistors on that time clock looked very toasted. Color bands barely visible for telling what resistance it is.
It was a wibbly wobbly timey wimey time clock. 😂
Good thing Chris didn’t Blink or he would’ve missed it.
Nice
Be aware brother is that we fight against chaos and it will do anything to stop us.
Including anyone you have loved or or ever will.
Contemplate .
Please explain when you said you don’t charge by using ambient over 30. Why can’t you and how should you?
great vid as always!
I’ve got to give you some shit. That was a big ass compressor.😅😂 25hp is getting bigger.
I had heat stroke 4 times during my 48 year career.
It sucked!
I love ur vids bro I watched u since I was 9
I see a new merch item coming soon .HVACRvideos headlamp
The walk-in cooler had electric defrost? Ive only seen air-defrost.
Yeah I see it occasionally on walk in coolers and beer walk in coolers
@@HVACRVIDEOS Gotcha….
Hey, I just want to thank you 🙏 for all
Your videos….they have helped me
More than you know. I’m making more money than I’ve ever made because of you sharing your knowledge with us. You have truly been a blessing to me. My family and I thank you! God bless you!
That's awesome bud, glad I can help!
God bless you bro
Why bleep out the paper on the door?
What's with the new black hoses ?
Chris, I saw CaptiveAire posted a new video a couple days ago claiming they had a unit that could last 25 years, it looks like they use a lot of non standard parts though. I was wondering what you thought about these units, I don’t work in HVAC but watch a lot of your videos and was curious if you thought they were any good.
I will discuss this tonight 6/17/24 @ 5:PM (pacific) on the HVACR Videos Q and A livestream come on over and check it out th-cam.com/users/live6ofIoaxQ9OI
Somebody explain how a frozen evaporator coil will cause the sight glass to flash?
Of all philosophies, Stoicism works best if you are an HVACR man.
Seeing here if anyone has done a 66 hrs on call with no breaks and no help? All supermarket refrigeration. 110 mi spread with no end in site. Half the calls with silent machine rooms on arrival. Ahhh the good old days...
Looks like that at one month, I would think every two weeks.
Hemet is weird, you leave the highway and drive for miles on a road that has virtually nothing then up pops Hemet out of nowhere.
Hey Chris- what type/brand hoses are you using? Those things look tough
Why sideglass is actually flashing? I'm just fun of your videos. I know nothing about HVACR. Can you explain it in future video? Thanks.
Im actually going to discuss this a bit more on my next live stream this Monday night

Who loves to go back 4 stories down from the roof because you forgot the drier 😂
Me! Send me!
Why did you not fix the defrost timer first seeing that the evaporator fans were not operating. What led you to doing the condenser cleaning first?
10:37 why did he need to blur that panel? why would that info need to be blocked?
It had some sensitive customer information on it
@@HVACRVIDEOS Thank you for the reply.
Good vid chris! Are you still looking for techs? 😎
Yes
Question I have is there a reason the cooler evaporators shut down the fans during defrost? Is it because of the style evaporators? My fans typically stay on but are fan forward evaps not downward like some of my old stores. Also was that clock as dirty when you replaced all the contactors? That one looked rough.
Thanks for the question, im going to see If I cant talk about this in further detail on my next live stream this coming Monday
I will discuss this tonight 6/17/24 @ 5:PM (pacific) on the HVACR Videos Q and A livestream come on over and check it out th-cam.com/users/live6ofIoaxQ9OI
Why did the system not want to go into defrost when you tried to force it?

I'm curious, why don't you have an employee for weekend calls? I know some people who love working on weekends on call. I won't leave anything I've got planned to go on a service call on weekends.
We have a on call rotation so everybody takes a turn even myself
You’re awesome
Maintenance what Maintenance
now they are going to get a bunch of Franklin kebabs.
Funny what we do for money !!!!
I’m local, is your company hiring?
Yeah bud send me your resume to hvacrvideos@gmail.com
Master Built my ass…😂
Master built is Junk
Do not take it as a mean comment just an LOL moment. I bet you wish you had replaced that timer when you replaced the one next to it.
why dont they use encapsuled clocks?! man look at all this grose an the clock at 4:00 !! this is the blank PCB without any dust and touch-protection... which dodgy company does build this crap??? absolutely horrible... when i see these devices as an german electronics enigeer, i can't stop facepalming...
Yeah right
