      There might not be an eighth book now, as Luncinda died sjortly after the seventh was published, and it was said she would start writing the eighth after the seventh came out. So even though the publication date for number eight was already announced, it may not mean thne book is finished already.
      Book seven, which I've just finished, is also special because while it was easy to pinpoint potential younger versions of Pa Salt in the other stories, I have no idea where to pinpoint him in The Missing Sister. From the info or hints we already do have, we can assume that he's round the age of Nuala, and he cannot be Ambrose or James because the two were clearly in Ireland while Pa Salt was elsewhere.
      Could it be that Merry is actually the one of the daughters who might actually be Pa Salt's physical daughter? He would have been somewhere in his early thirties when he fathered her, and we know that the Eszu family owned and lived in the Big House when Merry was born. Could it be that Merry's mother was actually a born Eszu and that her family disapproved of the baby (or she feared that they would disapprove) because of who the father was, and that this is why she was left at the priest's doorstep - because she was in a way a danger to her mother in relation to her mother's family?

    Another clue that the little orphaned boy at the sculptor's place may have been Pa Salt is that..if i remember correctly i don't have the book anymore... is that he played or whistled a part of Grieg Peer Gynt, which returns in the story of Ally's ancestry. Also Maia's ancestor, who helps little Pa Salt, gives him her address in Brazil : and that's also how he could have traced them back in order to adopt Maia.

      And the scene where the boy is looking to the stars and likes astrology etc. Is friends with the original sculptor and would explain the minature sculptor in his office.

    Voor mijn Nederlandstalig kijkers, NL is mijn tweede taal, dus jullie mogen comments ook in het NL achterlaten. Ik heb bijna de NL versie van The Missing Sister besteld, omdat het veel vroeger beschikbaar is, maar aangezien dat die boeken zo lang zijn, met veel informatie, heb ik toch beslist om ze in mijn moedertaal Engels te lezen. Er is trouwens ook een heel leuke forum, te vinden op facebook ('de zeven zussen forum') waar je discussies kan vinden. :):)

    In the book the 7th sister i think it's clear that Pa Salt and his wife were the inhabitants of the villa house and the parents of Mary~Mer`ry..Mer`iope...
    So by loosing his first daughter in what bizarre way ever he compensated by adopting lots of other daughters whilst always keeping the search going for the original one.

    • @Internetrando
      @Internetrando  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Oh so you think Merry is Pa Salt’s biological daughter? I thought so too at first then remembered that my Pa Salt suspect’s companion was a French/Jewish woman named Elle (both in the storm and sun sister books).
      I figured Merry’s mother had to be Irish, so it couldn’t be Elle. I think you might be right though! They all travel around so much, it makes sense that they could have lived at Argideen House, but when? Just before the Eszus came into the picture in 1948? Maybe that’s how Pa Salt lost them? I feel like Pa Salt could have told Merry a little more in that letter tbh. lol.

    • @lotti-un2kq
      @lotti-un2kq 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think Merry ist Pa Salts daughter. I think pa salt is a family member of the Eszus and lived there with Merrys Mother. Maybe it's also the connection to the death of Pa Salt and Kreeg. Just a few considerations…

    • @christianealshut1123
      @christianealshut1123 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@lotti-un2kq no, I disagree, her mother was probably an Eszu because it is clearly said that the Eszu's lived in the house and between 1948 and 1949 was the time that Merry's mother was pregnant with her. I see it more like a "forbidden love" scenario because Pa Salt was on one level an enemy weith the Eszus, who wouldn't have approved of one of theirs having a baby with the enemy. Which is why she placed the baby on the priest's doorstep.

      @@Internetrando Elle could not actually be a personal name, it literally just means "she" in French. Hew might have referred to her as "Elle" in the third person in front of other people, so that they assumed that this was her personal name (this with a bit of cautiob, I haven't the passages ready where "Elle" actually occurs).
      It might also be a reference to Helike, the mother of Merope in the legend.

      @@Internetrando Well, she was raised culturally Irish because she was placed in an Irish adoptive family - and the book makes a great point of the different forms of family, that it's not necessarily only determined by nature, but just as much, if not even more, by nurture. That's the whole point in Pa Salt adopting all those girls from different cultural backgrounds round the world, I think.

      Only it may not be an anagram but a palindrome, as an anagram would require she shifting of some letters for it to make sense - as is the case with Eszu for Zeus and D'Apliese for Pleiades. But here the name makes sense being read both forward and backward without the letters being shifted (though not the same in both directions, as in the name Hannah), and that's known as a palindrome...Just my two cents' worth...

    Maybe Pa Salt was Kreeg Eszu and he led a double life. That was why his daughters barely saw him. And then Zed would be their half brother by law ( not by blood except Merry/Merope).

    • @Internetrando
      @Internetrando  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      This is a very interesting theory, because I didn’t know what to make of their weirdly connected deaths and the fact that I think Zed is going to play a much bigger role, beyond being Maia’s baby’s father. Also, Pa Salt always travelling and him saying he was a ‘magician’ of sorts… he’s definitely had some other life that kept him away from Atlantis a lot. Another commenter said that it was mentioned that the girls would often have ‘fleeting’ moments with him (I missed this in the books), so could be.

    • @christianealshut1123

      @@Internetrando I wouldn't say double life; it's more like the two characters being two sides of the same coin, or at least connected with each other, so that what affects one will also affect the other. It's a little like those two races in The Dark Crystal which were originally one race which then split in two, and each time a member one of those races dies, so will their counterpart from the other. That's what I thought of when I learned that Eszu and Pa Salt died at the same time, that Eszu had to die BECAUSE Pa Salt had died.

      Zeus and Atlas are two different people in myths. I think the Tanits may have been servants at Eszu's court when Merope was born, because they were servants before (Flora's court). it's possible that then they found out that Pa Salt came from a royal family (Kiki's son) and that's why they had to run away. they made an appointment, but someone got Elle and gave the baby to the parsonage, or she did it. In mythology, Zeus punished Atlas to carry the earth. it is possible that Eszu punished Pa Salt by making Pa Salt fake his death. separation from daughters could be a kind of punishment. What do you think about it?

    • @Thelusiiiiiiii
      @Thelusiiiiiiii ปีที่แล้ว

      Additionally, Elle, Merope's mother was from an orphanage, her brother was adopted as a baby, this story is told by Kirsty, Pip's wife. maybe her brother is Greek Eszu?

    hello - one of the things I noticed in the books - not all - was that some of the sisters thought they saw Pa Salt fleetingly - after a performance or other situation they were in - and he vanished very quickly as they tried to call or approach him....and as you say later there were the incidents of overhearing his voice and smelling his after shave etc. then the secret steps down into the basement etc. I have always felt he is the young boy who was found on the street/garden in the first book. I do not think he is dead and maybe decided to pretend to die so as the girls would become more independent and start to search for their families and learn about who they really were. Have ordered the Missing Sister - but not got it yet. As for the mythology behind it all - that I am not really into......... I know their names are linked to the stars etc . but do not think there is anything supernatural going on as you suggest about Pa Salt's body - but who knows!! I guess I am looking at it all from a pretty natural point of view - and anything supernatural would spoil it for me!! I was not into the whole white stag which was supposedly killed and then vanished magically!!!! K

      I didn’t notice the parts about the girls seeing him fleetingly before he’d disappear, that’s interesting.
      Lucinda hasn’t shown us anything really ‘supernatural’ happening in the story, apart from Tiggy having some kind of a extra ‘senses’ so I think you’re likely right; there must be some natural (but still seven sisters level ‘strange’) explanation.

      You have a great idea there, and I think the key is the link of the Eszus and Pa Salt's family of origin with the Gods and the Titans...The Titans were actually there before the Gods and fathered them (Zeus for instance is the son of a Titan), so there is a family relationship there despite the enmity (or is in fact the source of that anmity), or even a relationship along several lines, as when Merry learns that she and Bobby Noiro actually were cousins, sharing common ancestry throough Nuala.

      As for Pa Salt, when I made my more recent 'Who is Pa Salt?' video, it made me realise all over again just how intricate his story is as well. Lucinda can't just reveal his mysterious 'death' and give away his identity, she probably wants to go back and connect the separate threads of his appearances throughout the books, so we get a full picture of who he is.
