    you honestly sold me on this unit by the amount of detail and information provided for installation. I can't tell you how many softener systems I've researched that has little or no instructions. I just ordered mine today, looking forward to the install with having these videos for help.

    Thanks for this series of videos. I just purchased the hydrotech 565. Looking forward to the results. I haven’t installed it yet waiting on my brothers help as he has installed the same thing at his house. Hoping for clean soft water! We have smelly water too if I understand this want help with the smell. I’m going to chlorinate the water first. I also read replacing the andode rod in the hot water tank will help with the smell as well. But our smell is from the cold an hot water side. Anyway this video really helps. May do the install myself if my brother don’t find some time soon!

    Great video can you put your drain line to a sump pump in ground?

  • @kenlee8176
    @kenlee8176 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The drain line, is that connected to the house? Or is it plumbed to the outside? And this drain line, is this an over flow drain line?

    What size is the drain line ?

    I'm installing this in my basement. Can I use a pump to pump the water to the drain that will be above? Essentially I have a pump for my washer that pumps water up to the main sewer line.

    Two comments: Would quick disconnect fittings on the brine line reduce the chances of faulty installation by the dryer? The water in/out connections on the back of the unit effectively increase the footprint and the distance between the wall and the unit, which is an issue for those with limited space.

    We have an existing 2 stage water filter, would this be installed before or after the existing filter ?

    • @uswatersystems
      @uswatersystems  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Almost always yes, the Softener should be installed after the filters.

    Can this be installed outside?

    • @uswatersystems
      @uswatersystems  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes but it will need protection from the elements. You would want to build some kind of enclosure around it.

  • @juanlanda2441

    I don't understand the reason you don't want treated water to water the outdoor plants and grass .is it because it will have salt and kill the plants? . Also I have a septic tank so I don't have a drain I can just discharge the brine into after the recharge process. Would I need to run a drain into an area of the backyard that I don't mind killing the grass in ? Maybe a French drain

    • @uswatersystems
      @uswatersystems  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the salt used for a water softener is what makes it harmful to plants. Bypass your softener if you are watering your lawn, plants or filling a pool. And yes, a french drain would be a good idea..

    @oneman7638 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Its because you need a plumber to come to your home and solder copper pipe. So it works this way. The water from your city comes to the house from outside, then you add this system in the middle, then this system attaches to you water heater or tankless water heater. Now you will have soft water in the entire house. They can also use pex pipe as well. I have seen it done at my neighbors home on these type of systems. The copper is expensive depending on who much you need, but what you are really paying for is labor, time and tools kf the tech to come to your home and install the system.

    How can water have an In and outlet?? Cold water or hot water. None is in and outlet in the home. Seriously!

    • @oldtwinsna8347
      @oldtwinsna8347 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      you need a plumber to come put that in for you.

    • @juanlanda2441
      @juanlanda2441 ปีที่แล้ว

      The inlet to the house is where you want the inlet to the tank , in other words before the water splits out to your water heater. The outlet from the tank is then going to go to the same pipe . That way you are treating the hot and cold. . but most likely the outdoor water spigot will also be before the area of pipe you want to tap into. Which is harder to connect in homes that have water pipes coming through the concrete or brick walls. Hence, if you have a crawl space it's much easier
