Hi Kate. You've been such a lovely discovery. We're not long back from Aragunnu and did that same walk ... so beautiful. I spent a lot of time on the southern side drawing those amazing cliffs, home to two magnificent sea eagles that do the rounds every evening down there. I was curious about your musings about a next tent.. curious to know what you've been eyeing. We've been looking at the Hubba Hubba and Big Agnes Copper Spur but I think it's a case of waiting for the sales to come round. If they in fact do ;). Really appreciate the time you put into these, it's no small effort, but just delightful to watch. Cheers. Marg
Margaret - thanks for the lovely comment - it's so nice to hear. Yes it is a magnificent area - how wonderful you spent some time drawing. I do love a good sea eagle. I ended up getting the Zpacks duo tent - wanted to save some significant weight. But ye the Big Agnes looks like a ripper - very similar to my old tent. I love it as you can pitch it anywhere. Best of luck with your adventures.
Hi Kate! Awesome video! I'm from the bega Valley - currently living in Melbourne. You took me straight back to my place of peaceful Solitude, especially the snippets of bird calls! I felt like I was there with you. Thankyou. I am a new subscriber, and so far , I am loving your content. Keep up the good work.
Emily welcome to the channel. Thanks for the sub and lovely comment. It’s comments like these that keep me making videos so thanks I really appreciate it. Bega valley is such a special place. Hope to get back out there hiking again soon. Cheers
Just found you through Kaat from Walking with Kaatje. Just subbed your channel to support another fellow female hiker. Looking forward to doing the Valentine's Day Special with you. Can't wait to catch up on watching all your vids.
Beautiful little hike on the coast and what a perfect campsite that was! Colours of the sunrise on the landscape were stunning. I think beers should become part of your regular gear list seeing they’re multipurpose. 😉 Great to see Pete enjoyed his first hike too. Another hiker recruit!
That sure was a great hike! 😀👍 Loved your beercan and your deostick! 😀 And you did go into the water! I subscribed! Dori told me you had a great channel! Happy holidays! Kaat
Hi Kate! Another great walk and inspiring me to aim for an overnighter! I once walked with the whole of Year 9 from Depot Beach to Pretty Beach before the southerly hit and the kids tents got smashed 😁 Teachers stayed in the cabins 😂
Hi Kate- I could stay at the beach for hours too! What a great view and perfect camping spot. Glad Pete liked his first hike 👍👍 I heard about your channel from Kaatje, and am in on the project! Should be fun! 🥾🥾
I love that you took your future father-in-law out for a hike! That is certainly one way to get to know them 😳, though it looks like you've got a good one there 😉. Thanks for sharing Kate, you brave soul!
Another great video Kate, what camera do you use? stabilation is awesome, your video compilation is amazing keep up the great work you got me as a subscriber
Thanks so much. I use my iPhone 11 set to 4K and a OSMO gimbal. Wish I could do a bit more zooming but I love the ultralight setup. Thanks a bunch and happy hiking
Oh thanks so much. It’s such a special part of the world hey. Yes that would be amazing. One day is some deep gorge I’ll be the dickhead on my own talking to my iPhone 😂 happy hiking
Great to see people like yourself getting out there. We are more of a car culture in this country where people just drive somewhere pile out of the car, stuff their faces, drown out nature with their Bluetooth devices , leave litter and then pile back in the car and leave. We don’t have a big hiking tradition and culture in Australia. Most hikers are visitors from other countries. For a so called sporting nation that is sad. I’m getting on now but still do day trips. Love the bush and ocean. Hope your videos inspire others. 🌺
Hi Kate, what a great adventure.. something that we can only be dreaming about now during the lockdown.. we cant goo anywhere with 5 km travel restriction. By the way your Walk a hear video really cheered us up. Greetings from Ireland.
Awesome video Kate. An inspiration for me to make better hiking videos myself. Can I ask what camera set up you use? Also are you using a gimbal I noticed most shots were nice a stable. I’ve subscribed and will be watching more if your videos for sure 😁👍🏻
thanks very much. I use my iphone 11 shooting in 4K at 60fps. I also use a DJI Osmo gimbal. I am so impressed with the battery life on that thing. I'll check out your channel and subscribe too. Happy hiking.
