    Ok you’ve convinced me! I’m gonna buy a hair stick. My hair is nearly classic length and of late, hair clips, hair ties just aren’t working for me anymore. I get a terrible headache & sore neck 5 minutes in… can’t wait to try these styles!! Thank you for your videos. You’ve given me sooo much insight. I’ve only used organic shampoo and conditioner, avoided heat & dying my hair. Im happy with my progress, but I want to try this year to avoid some negative things I’m doing that’s damaging my hair, like elastic bands instead of silk ties, brushing with a plastic brush & not really putting my hair in protective styles & stsrt doing proper oil/hair mask/scrubs etc.. in the 7 years I’ve been growing my hair… I oiled like.. once 😅.. Considering I’ve not really taken care of my hair, it’s still quite thick & healthy…But I know that it can be soooo much nicer. I’ve purchased a lot of the innate life products & I’m excited to see how they respond to my hair & what my hair is going to look like when I put the love and care into it. I would love to have shiny, thick, mid thigh/knee hair.. I’m hoping that maybe this year or end of next year I will reach the goal, but I don’t want just the length, I want it to look incredibly healthy and soft aswell. ❤much love, our hair colour is quite similar aswell so I look at your beautiful hair and It’s a nice visual for me!

      Oh that’s amazing!! Trust me, you’ll never look back. Hairsticks are the only thing still keeping my hair up at kneelength, and without headaches! I wish you all the best in your hair journey; sounds exciting! I only started taking care of my hair when it was classic length, so I understand you! All the best!✨

    I recently bought some more hairsticks and I have been looking for long hair tutorials, my hair is not as long as yours but I did recently cut the split ends off but it does normally grow quite long so once it does I can still use these! other tutorials are always with hair not that long. I just need to practice with these as I was doing them too loose so they weren't holding right but you explain them and show how to do them at a good speed!

    I've been using the Spock bun for years but now they my hair is getting longer and heavier, I find the top of my head getting thinner so I need to change things up. I'll try the nautilus as that double loop will secure things up. Thanks for your tutoril

  • @isabellefischer5145
    @isabellefischer5145 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Thank you very much for these tutorials. I'm growing my hair out too - it's down to my waist - but I have very fine hair, and not much of it. The only bun that seems to work for me is the infinity bun. Which is a bummer, because since the hair is wrapped so tight, I loose volume.
    I was able to wear one yesterday the whole day after following your instructions and securing it with a pencil, but this morning, I have a hard time making it. It seems to come down to which loop to use to wrap around the rest?

    • @basicallyrapunzel
      @basicallyrapunzel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A lot of times a hair fork is easier to use for fine hair, rather than a hairstick/pencil. I’ve also noticed that different types of hairsticks hold different buns better. I think it’s a matter of practicing to get the right bun for you! The buns that work for me keep changing as my hair gets longer. But the Disc Bun imo is the one that should hold for most people, no matter hair length, type or what kind of hairstick, since it’s wrapped differently.
      The Infinity bun, you always use only the top loop to remove from the rest of the bun! Could be that you were having issues because you didn’t wrap tight enough or used more than one loop at the end!
      Anyway, I hope any of this is helpful!✨

    • @isabellefischer5145
      @isabellefischer5145 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@basicallyrapunzel Thank you for your input. Yes, I think I wasn't wrapping the infinity bun tightly enough. I tried with a small metal hair fork, and that seems to work really well right now. To add volume, I put a scrunchy around the bun. I'm going to practice the disc bun, since you feel it should work for anybody. Wish me luck!

    My hair seems to be too slippery for hairsticks or forks, though forks do hold up better. So do you have any tips for that?

    • @basicallyrapunzel
      @basicallyrapunzel  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      When I started out using them, I thought my hair was too slippery too, but if you put the hairstick in correctly they’ll actually usually stay in. Also some buns will hold better like the Disc Bun, Cinnabun or Infinity Bun. You can also use two hairsticks to secure the bun. And the type of hairstick also makes a difference, for me the ones from PalosPelos stay in a lot better, because they’re slightly thicker than other hairsticks. There are also some I got from YehveniaShop that are square instead of round, and they hold my buns really great as well.

    What is the differnce between the spock and the lazy wrap? The method looks the same to me.

    • @basicallyrapunzel
      @basicallyrapunzel  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m not really sure how to explain it😅 but the spock bun does have like a extra loop at the beginning, which makes it different. The lazy wrap is more similar to the nautilus bun.

    • @nobodyqwertyu
      @nobodyqwertyu ปีที่แล้ว

      @basicallyrapunzel after watching a few time I caught it. For the spock your two fingers go underneath the gathered hair. But for the lazy wrap they're on top
