Mine is 4 years old and still works like new. I'm ready for this upgrade now! Used for videos under water fresh and salt. Used in 120 degrees and in -20 degrees. I am in remote areas and this is the only phone that gets service.
Researching on a new rugged phone to survive my adventures. This device addresses all the issues I have with my Sonim XP8. It has taken some tumbles off a Ram mount on my duel sport in the woods. Sent it tumbling off my chest clip when climbing, dropped it when running several times. Used the light on it to change the oil on my jeep and dropped it in the pan; survived but a nightmare to clean. Was set to go winter camp and drove away with it on top of my jeep. It has many battle scars and several scratches to screen, but still works like the day I got it. However, The processor is annoyingly slow and most pictures taken have suffered due to a lackluster main shooter. So onto the next; Kyocera Ultra 5G and I have to say it checks every box except one, a non removable battery. Thankyou for trying several times to get a release date from Mr. Wick; Not even giving a QT release time frame and with a political "Very soon." answer leaves me like a kid again...waiting for my parents to get up Christmas morning.
Ah yes fully user-friendly battery replacement would have been great, if somehow they could still fit a good 5000mAh battery in there.. Hopefully it's not too hard to replace the battery after 1-2 years if the lifecycle of the battery is going a bit down over that time. And hopefully all the waterproof/breakproof guarantees still work after a user or phone repair shop has replaced the battery..
@@charbax I think it will be very hard to replace the battery. I still have 5 years old Kyocera phone and wanted to replace the battery, but it is full in glue inside, so it is super hard to disassemble it and then some how glue it back.
Just bought this phone, I have the last one, they are beast. BEAST, no scratches after two years and I have broken every phone I've ever had in less than months. The only issue with the last phone was inferior chip. Slower processing. But it was worth it.
My present phone is Duraforce Pro-2 and it's a beast. I'm ready to jet to my local Verizon store to get this phone as soon as it comes out. Bring it on!
Just ordered mine, best durability period, a screen that never breaks or scratches, unless you take boron carbide to it, the only gripe I have is being resolved, performance. Although I never needed a phone that was super fast my duraforce 2 struggles.
will it be possible to buy it in Europe? or will it work in Europe if bought in US? 4 years ago Kyocera had distributors in Europe, but I see none now.
I have the duraforce pro 2 and mine has been dropped in a industrial grade glue tote, ran over by a forklift and put through an emboss roller...and still has no issues. a couple of dents tho lol
I have used a couple of rugged phones sitting on my dash or in my cradle and are rated for more then 75° but driving for a couple of hours they shutdown due to being overheated, this doesn't happen anywhere else. Last phone I was recording snow while driving and the phone stopped after 22minutes. How well does the Kyocera phone tolerate these conditions . I saw it was rated for -20°C to 60°C?
Can they make these phones a bit smaller? The older duroforce was smaller and fit into the phone pocket on my work pants and jacket. Now I don’t carry the phone because it is too big. I also liked the older phone power button location better. My fat fingers hang up on people when I adjust the volume. Overall I think it is a great phone.
Do you still like it? My Verizon representative Says that there have been problems.... I have a dura force pro 2, and I love it, but I need more storage...
I’m sold and on Verizon. I’m patiently (not) waiting for this phone to replace my ultra-fragile iPhone. Bu-bye, Apple! This could be my cable replacement soon. I’m an old civil engineer, who’s spend more than half his life in environments that are not iPhone friendly. The TOF feature has lots of application in BIM and building renovation.
To be honest, consumers break their phones every day, I wish all the Samsungs and iPhones were unbreakable too, and fully waterproof and etc. Wash proof. There are millions of shattered iphone/samsung screens out there every single year. I know they do it on purpose to push their users to upgrade every year or two, but that's just wrong.
@@charbax I’ve had iPhones since they first came out and have broken the screens on two and drowned another. Repair is expensive! I was strongly considering a switch to the Kyocera DuraVX Extreme feature phone but didn’t, knowing I use features regularly that simply would be inconvenient to use on a flip phone. Now I’m waiting for the email from Verizon telling me it’s available. I usually am not an early adopter but, in this case, I will be. Chris Wick’s enthusiasm for the product and his own experience sold me. Thanks for the great interview.
Iphone glass is pathetic. Why can't all manufacturers pledge to at least make the glass resistant to shattering and scratches. My duraforce pro 2 with sapphire shield was amazing.. Normal everyday objects in your pocket wouldn't scratch the screen, screen never cracked after multiple drops, daily abuse and only did when I ran it over with a tractor..
Sometimes 3 years. He is joking. I have the duraforce pro 1. 4 years and counting. Although it does feel dated it still works like on day 1. Will get this once it released on other carriers. Verizon always gets it first.

I am not even from US and I am 100% sure I am getting this ultra 5G somehow! It is spot on, thank you!
I hope the 5G/LTE bands work well worldwide in any country, hopefully not too US/Japan centric..
I got one few weeks ago and it is a piece of junk.

After 5 years of use, 2 times dropped on bucket with water, dropped one time for my bed truck, at 10 miles per hour, yes still working.
Nice 😃👍

Was security mentioned at all. Protection for business banking etc

Is this phone is going to be unlocked or only with Verizon

Can't find any info on release date. I'm still limping by with my original Duraforce pro at 4 years old. For sure getting this.

I have 2 of these phones, they are bad ass. The ptt is unbelievable and the 5G speed is amazing.

Please, can anyone tell me if the unlocked version will work on sprint/t-mobile network???
Got a link to compatible SD cards?

I'm definitely buying the new phone when it comes out
How do you turn off the red notification light it keeps blinking with no notifications
You checked your android notification settings maybe you do have one or other notification in the background?
Is the notification light indipendent (not part of the screen like some knockoff app using a pixel) and RGB?
It looks MASSIVE
Out
Will this device support dual SIM cards????
Goodbye note 10 ultra hello kyocera 5g ultra impatiently waiting 👍👍👍😱😱🥰

I really wish T Mobile would get this phone. Might have to switch to verizon now. T mobile phones suck...they never carry rugged devices
It wasn't out at Verizon till days ago.
