I’ve watched Regine live 3 times in concert, each at least 2 hours long. Let me tell you. She kills it from beginning to end. However, you really need to watch more of her to see her true vocal range and power.

She's now 51 and here in this video, she was 47 and also, in this video, Regine is suffering from severe acid reflux. She still has avid reflux now but it attacks Regine lesser. And she is having vocal lessons for her voice, for her placement to fit her condition and age. But oh my goodness, you should watch more of her. She's the Asia's Songbird, the Queen of our Music Industry and is the idol and inspiration of almost all singers of today like Morissette and Katrina. She's been in the industry for more than 35 years. Her belting is really effortlessly done, it's just that when she had acid reflux after giving birth, it affects her singing, but she can still belt effortlessly. And she doesn't have a hard time singing the low notes. The song Shine which Morissette sang on the Wish Bus is Regine's song also, at least it's her version, because the song became popular only when Regine Velasquez sang it and recorded it. You should watch her performances when she was younger and also her performances today. REGINE VELASQUEZ is THE BIGGEST SELLING ARTIST OF ALL TIME in the Philippines. She is the ICON and the BIGGEST/GREATEST MUSICAL INFLUENCE here in the Philippines. Most of the promising philippine divas of today like Morisette, Katrina, Jona, Angeline including the-now-big stars Sarah Geronimo, Rachelle Ann Go, Sheryn Regis, and Kyla, consider Regine as the Best Singer in the Philippines. She is the MOST CELEBRATED MUSICAL ICON in our country. Thus, you should react more to her PRIME PERFORMANCES during her 20’s, 30’s, 40’s and even in her 50’s. You will fully understand her vocal greatness. ❤️❤️🎙🎙👑👑👑🎙🎙❤️❤️
An interesting fact I learned about Filipinos that perhaps connects a lot to their singing culture-they actually have a huge poetry and song history! They would communicate regularly with poetry (they had a primarily oral tradition), and I know this especially applied in the island of Luzon. I think this contributes to their sing-song languages, don’t you think so too?
U're the first people who explained how the language could influence the resonance in the voice and that's probably y there r a lot of great singers here! I wish u could do a reaction to her rendition of "piece of sky" (where she:s wearing a pink gown) when she was so much younger and do a comparison of how her voice has changed. She admittedly went thru a difficult phase later in life & said that she had to relearn techniques to adapt to the changes in her voice as she matured
You didn't know that Filipino languages especially Tagalog and Bisaya are the best languages for singing. I am German guy but that's what I have noticed about it travelling all around the world. It's better than Italian Latin and French languages. It's really the bezt for singing. I always observe this happening espcially in chorale competitions. When a non-Filipino chorale group sings in a Filipino song, I always feel that that non-Filipino Choir always is much better than singing other languGes.
As someone who has listened to her since she started back in the day, this is actually kind of her "party trick" what she does with her voice. She'll make the audience think she's struggling in the beginning and then pull some crazy stunts in the end. Kind of like vocal dynamics but using different placement as a way to progress in a song. Not very common in the west but surely worked for her from where I'm from :)
I think everything in her voice is actually intended 😊 bec she tries to include emotion in her voice so that she can convey the song pretty well ..it’s awesome how she have full control in her voice whether to make it soft or to give it full voice..thanks for the reaction I enjoyed it 😊
Wow finally the Queen of OPM landed on this channel I hope you will react to his "Shine 2020 version", "It might be you in ASAP STAGE", "A piece of sky highest version","I dont wanna miss a thing" and so much more. Goodluck and I hope you will be honest
Please react also to miss katrina velarde aka the lung power singer of the philippines... Her song cover somewhere over the rainbow, one sweet day, reflection, impersonating singers 3 (Burn), Whitney Houston medley and.many more... Thank you.
The one that you're saying about her changing her voice from tough to easier , she actually always do that everytime she sings that song, it's just adding more colors to the song♥️
It was a good reaction! Very... educational. You guys should check out her piece of sky performance. She was younger when she sang that song... was at her peak, I guess. I wonder what difference you could notice. Have a good day!
Fun fact: when she was a kid and growing up, her Dad put her in the drum ( whenever she feels like singing) that filled with water until her throat level and asked her to sing since she loves singing since 3yrs old, that how the enhanced her voice talent.
It’s her own song so she was singing with her emotion so it wasn’t hesitating. I wish you guys would have reacted to a song during her prime although she sounds amazing in this video it would have been nice if they chose a different video cuz there’s plenty of it.
She suffered and still suffering from acid reflux after giving birth when she was 40 years old. She definitely manages her acid reflux way better now. Please react to her recent videos! Thank you for reacting! I love the honest and kind comments!
legit reactors!!! Loved it... I've learned so much. Keep on reacting to our Queen's performances please!!! Love you both . Keep safe. Hugs from Philippines
I remember back when I was in college, we had the privilege of doing a Christmas concert with Regine. We were singing A Christmas Carol, and I think it was the first time she saw the music sheet we were going to use for that night's concert. She was practicing in front of us and she was working on how she would do the high notes on "And enjoy the beauty, all the joy and beauty that a Merry Christmas can bring to you..." she tried a soft falsetto and she would stop, shake her head, then tried a different approach. In the end she decided to just use power and belted it out. We were sitting behind her all that time... and couldn't be more in awe of her.
Since you have mentioned vocal health and vocal longevity, do a reaction on Regine's performance when she was younger and compare it to here most recent performance.
but Regine played a major role and inspiration to morrisette as well as many other talented singers who fallowed regine even a lot of times morissette can hit much higher notes but when she sings with Regine she holds back a bit knowing that her voice can sour to the roof she does this out of RESPECT to Regine and never try to take the light she is so humble
I don't really know if you do read through comments. Anyway, you may want to check her performances of "A Piece of Sky", and her World Tour Concert. Here she came up with epic performances of a Broadway Medley, and if you dare, Filipino classics of hers "Ikaw ang Lahat sa Akin" and "Kailangan Kita". All of today's Filipino singer's musicality can perhaps be attributed to her body of work.
I dont know if this could help. Wishbus invites singer to sing live on thier radio program and sometimes singers sings multiple songs. Regine,at her age now, admitted in an interview that she hire professional help, voice teacher, coz of the changes in her voice now. Thanks for reacting to Regine. She’ll forever be an icon for singers here in the philippines. Hope you could react also to her other songs from a bit back in the days. In her prime is what i want to say. Thank you and more power. She was singing since 1984. We are so fortunate that we heard, listened & watched her performed her songs during her prime years 90's and early 2000's. She's the Queen.
I was telling to some of the reactors and they kept on ignoring my comment. Tagalog or the Philippines national language is the easiest language to learn because you pronounce the word as you read it. Tjats why almost all of the vocal Olympics uses tagalog song for the primitive language song... it never fails... and listen to our rappers they rap faster than eminem... bone thugs or busta rymes.... coz its easy...
I watched multiple "Filipino Singers" reactors but you guys are really good. Most of them are afraid to criticize the singers. You did a great job. You got a new subscriber. ❤️
Check out her performance of Sometime Somewhere, the one where she’s wearing a yellow dress and her performance of Papa Can You hear Me where she has a bob cut singing on a staircase outside the Philippine Museum. I think these two are the most perfect I heard Regine sing. Regine tends to have vocal mannerisms not considered as proper in singing but it is what it is. I believe it has to do with Perhaps lack of formal vocal training and the language she sings in. Those are her own colors as you mentioned. And getting older, she has to constrict a lot of notes to keep them from blowing off. But this song particularly has very short notes and combined with Tagalog make it really not suitable for unconstricted notes. She would sound like a foreigner singing the song if she tried to free the notes and that’s just not the way Tagalog sounds. Having said that, I like that you didn’t hold back. You are on pint with your analysis.

That’s the only thing negative with this kind of videos where they don’t understand the language because I don’t think they’re reading the lyrics. I felt the right emotions with the part that they think that she was hesitating
Good honest, observations. I like it. Yes, the years of singing do make its presence at times. I think this was the first or one of the first she did live after a long hiatus. One thing thats inevitable and undeniable about her is that she knows her voice well, her technic and she is a professional. Keep it up!
When she was younger her father made her sing while swimming making her have such a strong air support! And she’s reading because she’s dislexic and she always has lyrics on a teleprompter when she performs. But that doesn’t take away from her reputation she’s gained by being Asia’s songbird and a legendary Filipino singer, she’s one of a kind!
Why dont you watch her performance of “ what kind of fool am i” and “sometimesomewhere” that’s her best performance, plus all filipinos love those songs of her. Please please react to it... thank you and God bless...

Its her own song ,❣️❣️ Kindly react to her rendition of Reason of earth wind and fire.."what kind of fool am i""and i Am telling you "highest version and "butterfly"
She had a very intense vocal training from the age of 6 years old, where her father immersed her neck-depth in the sea to do vocal runs. Her family was poor at that time so she can’t afford professional voice lessons then. But she won because she sings with great passion. She matched the lyrics with right tone of voice so that you will feel the emotion and meaning of every word. Sadly, she is getting old. She can’t keep up her highest note. But it’s okay because she already shared so much by singing so many beautiful and memorable songs with high pitch unlike any other I’ve ever heard. She is, indeed, a treasure for the Philippines. 😊
Having listened to her for more than 20 years, the notes that you’re saying she recovered from, those were completely intentional. That’s part of her style of singing. If you want to see her at her prime, you can watch “Run to You (Best Version)”, “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing”, “Just a Piece of Sky”.

She is very close friends with Lea Salonga and they sang a duet (online bec of the lockdown) last year for a charity. It was amazing!!!
PLEASE REACT TO REGINE VELASQUEZ SINGING "SHINE" 2020 VERSION. THAT WILL BLOWN YOU AWAY❤️❤️❤️
Yes please!! 🙏
Yeah!
Yes she sings in English!
Yes please..
YES PLEASE
I love how you both explain her voice and the way she uses it. I'm learning, and I'm appreciating “listening” more. Music is complex and oh so beautiful. Thank you for reacting to BTS, and to one of my favorites, Regine Velasquez-Alcasid 💜
Since you talked about belting and longevity, I think you need to react to her performance of Shine. Click the latest one, the one she's sitting down on a chair. It's a must see performance. 😊
The best 'yung WHAT KIND OF FOOL I AM.
Regine is one of the best. But for me, she's the best.
@@dongfullochannel4796 same here sir, same here. 😊😊😊
i can throw morissette songs at you all day....
She's sang this a million times already and she's just singing for the sake of it like it's nothing that's why ishe may sound a bit hesitant.
Hahahah amen to that.
Finally! Regine Velasquez reaction😍
Ken Tamplin explained that too
You didn't know that Filipino languages especially Tagalog and Bisaya are the best languages for singing.
@@Rosannasfriendat what particular video?
To think that this is not even Ms. Regine's prime. Such a legend💟💟💟💟💟
Omg. You should definitely react to Regine's Sometime Somewhere (wearing yellow dress)
Please please
This! This!
AGREE!!! one of my favorites
Yes
She is a diva of all divas in the philippines.
Literally love these reactions from your channel. Honest, technical, and informative ❤
As someone who has listened to her since she started back in the day, this is actually kind of her "party trick" what she does with her voice. She'll make the audience think she's struggling in the beginning and then pull some crazy stunts in the end. Kind of like vocal dynamics but using different placement as a way to progress in a song. Not very common in the west but surely worked for her from where I'm from :)
react to Regine Velasquez singing "What Kind of Fool Am I?"
I think everything in her voice is actually intended 😊 bec she tries to include emotion in her voice so that she can convey the song pretty well ..it’s awesome how she have full control in her voice whether to make it soft or to give it full voice..thanks for the reaction I enjoyed it 😊
Expressions!!!

@@N2RAreacts hindi po yung birit tinutukoy ko hehe, yung parang sinasabi nilang wala daw resonance pero hindi out of tune
It was a good reaction! Very... educational. You guys should check out her piece of sky performance. She was younger when she sang that song... was at her peak, I guess. I wonder what difference you could notice. Have a good day!
This was the period where she was learning to adjust with changes in her voice.
The original key was for a male.
Nope. the original is Nonoy Zuniga
It’s an old song and it’s live.I’ve heard her sing this a lot of times and the arrangement changes all the time.
Since you mention Lea Salonga, she is a Tony award winning Broadway actress popularly known for her role in Miss Saigon. A true Philippine pride ❤️
Since you have mentioned vocal health and vocal longevity, do a reaction on Regine's performance when she was younger and compare it to here most recent performance.
Shine 2020
but Regine played a major role and inspiration to morrisette as well as many other talented singers who fallowed regine even a lot of times morissette can hit much higher notes but when she sings with Regine she holds back a bit knowing that her voice can sour to the roof she does this out of RESPECT to Regine and never try to take the light she is so humble
She is out of this world. Vocal power, and a story teller.
Regine Velasquez is HUGE in the Philippines😘
She has a lot of jaw dropping performances. Try "in love with u", what kind of fool i am, sometime somewhere, on the wings of love etc.
Love your truthful reactions.

I've just watched it and they both sounded amazing! Both singers were awesome 👏🏻
Big UP to this!
She was singing since 1984. We are so fortunate that we heard, listened & watched her performed her songs during her prime years 90's and early 2000's. She's the Queen.
Enjoy listening to you both ☺️
Looking forward for more reactions ☺️

Wow you guys are making sense, love to hear your comments, i just subscribed!!!
Please WATCH Morissette and Regine's Mariah Carey medley performance. It's one if not the most epic performance in the Philippine Television
yassss!!!!
Ang pangit nito ka bonding, GUYS PAKITAAN NYO NG PRIME YEARS TOH NI ATE REG! HAHAHA Maloloka talaga kayo!!

I love her Araw Gabi version in myx channel when she was younger...actually ALL of her myx channel live performances
React to her younger performances and see why she's the queen.
Thank u for such reaction... looking forward for more reactions to the queen!!
Thanks for the critical technical comments which is helpful for hopeful singers. Can you also please comment on Gary Valenciano’s rendition of Spain.

wow you dissected this performance real good. You made some amazing points that hopefully other singers can learn from. Kudos!
SHE WAS NOT STUCK AS YOU ASSUME IN 10:42. THAT WAS INTENTIONAL TO EMPHASIZE THE FERVENT DESIRE OF HOPING/DYING OF BEING TOGETHER AS THE LYRICS EMPLIES.
That’s the only thing negative with this kind of videos where they don’t understand the language because I don’t think they’re reading the lyrics. I felt the right emotions with the part that they think that she was hesitating
I like how regine smiles before the peak of the song. Great!
Good honest, observations. I like it. Yes, the years of singing do make its presence at times. I think this was the first or one of the first she did live after a long hiatus. One thing thats inevitable and undeniable about her is that she knows her voice well, her technic and she is a professional. Keep it up!
Please to morissette's "panaginip"
You two are like meticulous surgeons operating and dissecting with precision. PURE HONESTY!
but they forgot to do differential diagnosis.😅
When she was younger her father made her sing while swimming making her have such a strong air support! And she’s reading because she’s dislexic and she always has lyrics on a teleprompter when she performs. But that doesn’t take away from her reputation she’s gained by being Asia’s songbird and a legendary Filipino singer, she’s one of a kind!
You should also react to Gary Valenciano cover of "Spain" also on wish bus

Please watch Lea Salonga and Regine Velasquez Musical Medley. I bet you'll be impressed.
There is absolutely no flaw in her singing here. It is the way she tells the story in the song.
Why dont you watch her performance of “ what kind of fool am i” and “sometimesomewhere” that’s her best performance, plus all filipinos love those songs of her. Please please react to it... thank you and God bless...
I'm just enjoying these videos that really shows the appreciation of the talent and technique of Filipino artists like Regine Velasquez-Alcasid that we here in the Philippines have just been blessed with. Thank you! 🇵🇭
Its her own song ,❣️❣️
Kindly react to her rendition of Reason of earth wind and fire.."what kind of fool am i""and i Am telling you "highest version and "butterfly"
nope. the original singer is Nonoy Zuniga
Please do a reaction to Regine and Martin Nievera's duet in a concert. Martin is Philippines Concert King.

Please do react to REGINE VELASQUEZ Legendary Performance of WHAT KIND OF FOOL I AM...
She's setting down on the floor
I think the one that you're saying that's kinda offkey is her style, it's to give color to the song, for me it's one of her signature sound♥️
Interesting reaction. Please do another one of Regine's live performance of "Piece of Sky" when she was younger. Such a classic hit. Kinda old but gold. 🎶🎤💛
