Paddy considine is truly a great actor, the scene where viserys goes to the throne room despite his condition, and daemon helps him to reach the throne and puts the crown on his brother's head. is the most emotional scene for me so far, and it's only gonna get better when the dance starts.
Martin has claimed that the kings in game of thrones are based on English kings. Joffrey was based on Richard II and I believe Viserys was based on Edward II. Edward II was stated to be a good man, but he is known as one of the worst kings in England due to his inability to act, to take stances when necessary. Viserys was so concerned with preventing conflict that he let the many grievances in his court grow into unhealable wounds.

All of them were far worse than him. And Viserys physical condition was definitely based on King Baldwin.

Same. We all knew it was happening eventually and no matter what nothing could’ve prevented his death. He was ill, he was going to die because of it and it’s been a slow burn for multiple episodes. It’s not like Ned’s death or the Red Wedding which happened due to poor decisions and were rather “shocking”. Viserys may not have been the best King but he was a good man who tried his best.
