Good Work!!!!, something to consider: you may run the cables under the mat in order to no degrade the electric cables, regards from venezuela!!!!!

4:20 - when the car is off both batteries voltage reading should display when the display button is pressed. Suspect incorrect connection for the blue wire. The aim is for both readings to show when car is off so you can monitor the level of charge left in aux battery separate from main battery as you draw on that battery. At least mine works that way. My blue wire is connected to aux battery + (effectively on connector 4 on the relay).

Did you get a solar panel yet? It would be great to be able to charge the aux battery charged by solar panel when camping for days.

great work! can you show some details on the battery tray in the engine compartment? is there a way to charge both batteries from an external power source? (other than a solar panel)

I'll do a quick video of the layout of the tray without the battery soon. With regards to charging both battery's I usally stick a battery trickle charger on the battery. Solar is usally the main external power source really. You only need to start the engine for 10 mins or so and your battery will start charging again,as its linked once the main battery is charged, the second one will then start charging as well. I hope that helps. Please keep an eye out as I'll be posting another video of the tray soon.

Hello and thanks for putting a detailed video up.
I'm going to fit one of these kits to my 2007 ford ranger to run a 2000w inverter and second battery.
My question is do I connect the positive connection from my inverter to number 4 on the AUX battery or number 4 on the solinoid.

Nice and neat setup. What about portable power stations? Can they run the fridge couple of days? I know there are very expensive ones with lithium batteries but something with normal car battery?

Hi, I've got a question about the Tmax dual charge system. I've got 2 different charging systems in my vehicle, one is the Tmax (via alternator) and the other one is a solar system, all connected together. Now, sometimes the whole system seems to go crazy, causing the Tmax relay to NON-stop clicking. Now, I was thinking of putting a break switch on the main cable that's connecting the 2 batteries. Do you think that is a good idea? Or maybe I could just put a little swich inline in the blue wire of the Tmax wiring? What would you recommend? Thanks in advance! Samuel

I have a smart alternator so it can drop below 13v and so the relay will trip off. This will stop the AUX battery from charging. If you find that its tripping all the time maybe look into a DC to DC charging system. Depending what size your solar is it could be that its getting confused on how much power is going to each battery.

You may have to look in a different size battery maybe. I know you can fit one as jimny bits do the brackets. Maybe fit the battery in the rear instead?

This would be a good application for a Braille battery. They're small and light but, unfortunately very expensive

Solenoid battery controllers are NOT recommended for ECU controlled cars. Consider a REAL battery controller as voltage spike from sticky solenoids will kill the computer and your Warranty, Please pull that off and put in in the bin where it belongs (they only suit non fuel injected cars), Cheers

I'm not qualified electrician and all the instructions on how to fit it are with the kit. if your willing to give it a shot then it can be quite fun
