Thanks for another great video! I'm looking forward to a video that does the short bed conversion on a 67-72 LWB. I've already found one link, but I'd like to see you cutting one down in a video, just because of your expertise and knowledge, and also love and dedication to our older trucks.
Thanks Robert
I would love to see that to. I'm gonna tackle it on my 72
Some here!!!
Excellent information, David ! Your information about warping the metal , using clamps and tape was very interesting.
Great video, thanks to the production crew also!
Our pleasure!
Great video. I have no intention of ever cutting a long bed down, but you do make a great video. thnx
For many years now I didn't either, but lately I've been seriously considering it.
Our pleasure!

Awesome David. I'm sub 😊
Awesome man
Do you have a video on cutting the bed floor? Thanks, I love the knowledge you pass on
Not yet, but we're working on one.
Great video. If someone wanted to just buy new short bed sides and weld them onto the existing floor and "headboard" would that work as well?
Luckily I just bought a 73 shortbed for $100 the rustiest truck I have ever seen and I have a clean long bead ready to be chopped up
Great video! How do I shorten the bed floor?
Great video 🤙🏼 I’m assuming the floor gets shortened in a similar manner, with 14” in the front and 6” in the back?
You could, but that's a big project. We use a reproduction floor in most cases.
Great job, but why not flange the panels before you butt them instead of welded the gap shut? A flange would help in rigidity and not require excessive welding which reduces the possibility of warp age. Flanges also give you that little bit of wiggle room in case you need it.
Flanged welds tend to promote rust between the layers of the flange itself. We have found over the years that rust can be kept from returning by using a butt weld. As long as proper practices are used, the butt weld works just fine and warping isn't an issue.
Great video! Questions, I have a long box, but I would like to make it a short box. Do they sell the panels to just build a short box and do no welding or cutting.
Do you have any videos on installing the clips to hold the headlights on the 73-87 chevy trucks?
We have a video where we swapped out the grill on an '87, that has all the extra details in it too. Check out our channel under our How-To video section.
Question. What about the floor of the bed? Do you have a video showing Dave cutting 14" / 6" out of it?
Sorry we do not have a video of this yet we had to replace the bed for this vehicle.
If u cut down the frame with y'all's kit, could u just find a short bed, that was in decent shape and bolt it on,or would their be a difference?
Yep, any short bed will bolt on
@@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV thank your very much, for the answer, and very informative videos
@@jasondean7288 Our pleasure!
If you were going to delete the stake pockets anyway would that change the way you cut the bedsides?
If you want to delete the pockets you could do it the same way and just remove the pockets after the fact and fill the hole. OR, you can just make a straight cut up the panel and then make your measurements without doing the step over cut.
Will the same measurements work making a swb out of an dually?
Am wanting to make an swb crew cab out of my dually
Nope sorry, different frame.
I'm gonna do this on a Ford. Do you guys only work on GMs?
Do you have video on shorting the bed floor?
I'm sorry we don't have a video of this yet. For this trucks we ended up using a new bed floor.
Good evening Brothers.ihave GMC custom b10 Brazilian made pickup model 1987 looks like US C10 pickup of early 80s some body took it for a ride later found out a twist on its Chasse frame at left side under neath engine mounting. can it has any effect how can I repair it.
Yes, you cam use a wench and pull the frame back into shape, but you will need to take the truck mostly apart first.
As informative as all this is, you could have had the luck I had when I purchased a new 1978 GMC short bed 4X4 w/ 357ci and Turbo 400-5 speed w/ 4-11 gears back in 1977
That was lucky!
Wth! Where's the 67-72 bedside video?!
Coming soon!
@@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV Awesome!!! Can't wait. I just shortened my frame with your kit. Super detailed and it went smoothly. I've been waiting to do the bedsides. I'll wait for your video!!!
@@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV 3 months.....
@@LT4Nova Already shot, just in line for editing. Probably will drop sometime in June.
@@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV You guys are killing me!. How do you release the most popular c10 model bedside video last?
Has he done this to a 60-66? Does anyone know the measurements? Is it the same? 6” rear and 14” front?
100% not the same on a 60-66. We'll be making a video for that soon.
@@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV thanks for the response! Looking forward to the next video!
why would I do that? There are plenty of short beds out there
16th of an inch?
PLEASE....stop that shit for good....centimeters and millimeters...thats all that is necessery
Este bato como habla, y habla y habla!!!
If he didn't talk so much like a parrot,
The video wouldn't be so boring!
