It does look a lot cleaner with the one piece glass. However, the cool factor with the vent windows makes conversions a tough choice. The cost of replacing the vent window assembly leads me back to considering the conversion...
I like your videos Great job 👏 👍 I have a 1991 square body Not a lot out there for the 1991 search I was wondering if the parts from a 87 would fit the 1991 square body? Thanks
Almost all the parts interchange. A very few body parts are different in 91, and some mechanical stuff changed...but generally the 4drs and SUV's were still 87's
Any issue with the mirrors getting wonky? The factory mirrors on mine have a support that goes between the inside of the door and outer skin to boot the mirror on which would have to be deleted.
That 100% depends on the mirror style on the truck. The small "sport type" mirrors have no issues at all, the larger mirrors, like the one on this truck, are pretty stable. At times they'll show a minor amount of shake, but our experience is that it's only on extremely rough roads or when slamming the door. Large trailer mirrors are also not a problem due to their large mounts.
After waiting 18 months for this kit, it showed up today... Both pieces of glass are scratched due to zero protection inside the box and missing several pieces of hardware. I'm beyond pissed! I'll have to wait until tomorrow to contact Holley as they're now closed.
Crazy, LS swapping, rear disc conversion, suspension lowering...now doing away with the iconic vent window..why??? Its just destroying the squarebodys ....leave them ALL origial...they are knocking off the price value of them....stupid idea.👍🇺🇲😀
Another informative video. I like the vent window delete on the square body but I would never do it on my 53 Chevy 3100. My 53 has these super cool little visors over the vent window. Factory A/C doomed the vent window. I have all electric A/C in my 53 but I still think the vent windows are cool. Thank you for your time.
For best results, I would recommend watching the whole video before starting the procedure as there are some things that can be done out of sequence. The Setting Tape can be removed and folded the day before the installation or even set in the sun to get the fold to set. It seems the removal of the Sash from the window should be moved up in the procedure. If acetone soaking is required or yields the best results, it may be beneficial to start the soaking as soon as the old window is removed from the door while you are working on the other steps. A second dose of acetone can be applied while you are between other steps.
Can you guys make a video showing how to put the cab of a c10 on a frame from a different year? I have a '61 cab but I'll be putting it on a '72 frame. I don't know where to weld the cab mounts because I don't know if the cab will be to far forward or to far back so that it won't line up with the fenders. Any help is appreciated
Sorry Zach, we don't do niche projects like that in the studio here. We suggest you go to one of the Truck forums and post the questions you have and see if anyone else has any experience with the modification you are trying to make.
I am so torn about going to a one piece window. The one piece windows look very out of place on a square body, but just replaced all the seals in one of my doors, and vent window is still whistle.
Always enjoy the tech videos, but I just got an email that said Brothers Truck is moving to Kentucky, does that mean you won’t be doing anymore videos or are they going to keep a satellite store in California
Great and very detailed video. However, i am curious how structurely more flimsy/flexible will a factory door be when the vent window support brace is removed. Are there any sealing issues with the new large glass? Additionally, when driving down the road with the window half down, is there alot more glass flex? Thank you.
I have a truck with the big window kit and another with the original wing window set up. The big window is way way way better looking. But I wouldn’t do it again unless it’s a show truck. The wing window is so nice when you want just some fresh air. With that said the brothers kit it was a great kit and install was easy. And everything worked great. Took me 2 hours to do both side super simple if you own a square body truck you probably can do this on your own
No more “ no draft” windows, very cool! Nice project, that really cleans up the doors on these trucks. I suggest you do one one weekend and the other the next weekend. Thanks to David , your in the know, to get those No draft windows 2 piece windows replaced with these very cool one piece windows! Thanks David! You rock!
I don’t own a square body nor am I a Chevy fan and not sure why I watched the video but this is quite possibly one of the best how to videos I have ever seen. Great job and those windows look super clean.
Hmmm…. This is the reason I drive these old trucks. Lol Now, make a kit to add a vent window to a cateye. 😂
Those vent windows are about 66 percent of the reason I bought my 85 Suburban. They were the very first thing I restored.
I just don't understand people. I would happily buy a wing window kit to put on the newer trucks I have the misfortune of driving.
I like me wings in my 72s
Nope! I love your vids but I will never give up my wing window.
28:41 4 years of squared used that tiny door panel. ought to show this for the 14 year run of large door panels from 77-91.
Great option, but I wanted to stay a bit old school and stuck with the vents. Maybe the next project 👍
Why would you ever want to destroy your truck by eliminating the wing window😮
What kind of monster would get rid of the vent windows
It does look a lot cleaner with the one piece glass. However, the cool factor with the vent windows makes conversions a tough choice. The cost of replacing the vent window assembly leads me back to considering the conversion...
The seal around a vent compared to a one piece glass isn't even in the same league. Thats another reason to consider.
Doesn’t it make door easy to bend without support in door
I like your videos
Great job 👏 👍

No sir, we just do the full sized classic C10 era trucks and videos.

Them vent windows are the next best thing when your ac takes a dump
Shit good a/c in a Squarebody isn’t good ac

Love this look would much rather do this than fix my vent windows. That being said i will happily pay someone to do this job LOL.

I appreciate the video plz where I find the kit rubber Bec I got glass without rubber thanks ❤️
I wish I had my 80 Scottsdale now
Why clear glass only? Most of these trucks came with green tinted glass.... I mean I'm gonna tint them anyway but it won;t match.
Great video! I would definitely wear gloves I've had cut off wheel break....
I have a 87 Chevy truck with power windows how can I do this installment?
Honestly when the ac is on the only time I ever used my vent window was to smoke. They always whistle and leak. I could take ‘em or leave ‘em
Does this kit work with power locks? And if so is there any modification necessary to accommodate for the 1 piece window kit?
For best results, I would recommend watching the whole video before starting the procedure as there are some things that can be done out of sequence.

You guys think you could do the 60-66 Chevy c10 Hidden tailgate hinges?
We'll look into it!
Do you have this type of kit a 1963 C10?
Not yet, but it's in the works!
Once again, you make this look easy. Has anyone done this to a '73-75 K5? I'm curious how the cut-down door would respond to losing the vent window.
This kit does not work on the full-top K5's. We've done it to an '87, and it worked flawlessly.
The video work is terrible! Zoom in and give us some detail!

anyway to have this upgrade yet have some kind of support for the below-eye-line mirrors?
remember if your door mirrors are large and vibrate in the wind a lot eventually your outer door skin will crack...
where can i buy vent windows for newer pickups
Why would anyone want to remove the vent window???
Is this kit still available? The link says message 404. Posted 8/8/2022
Yes, 100% still available. We will get the link fixed ASAP. In the meantime you can find them on our website www.brotherstrucks.com
How you doin just wondering if that full window kit will be the same to install if I have power windows on a 85 silverado
Clicking on the link will give you this;
"This kit was designed to work with manual and power regulators"
Yessir, both standard and power windows will work.
How much r the kits

I like your videos do you have the opposite kit to install a vent window
you can always install a vent if someone has removed yours. They should just bolt back in like original.
Is this just for trucks or for trucks and the 1985 gmc sierra classic c15 suburban 2wd?
Irreversible. sad face

My apologies you answered my question at the end of the video great video and product
Best tech chanel ever🏆
Thanks for the feedback!
Hey does this conversion work on electric windows?
I wish with all my heart that it was this easy. I guarantee I pop my 73 apart. It’s not gonna be like this.
Any chance for a 66 C10 vent delete kit?
No plans at the moment.
Do you have a wing window conversion kit for a 2003 chevy?
This was awesome
Man i wish id gone this route. Vent window seals are a biatch
Ummm....NO!
Is it safe?
Oh crap. Now I have TWO C10s to have to do this conversion, my '68 and my daughter's '76. 😆😆😆
That's the spirit!

Our pleasure!
Honestly I'm not a fan of those old vent windows at all, they're a pain once the pivot or frame breaks, much better with a 1 piece window.
Well said!
Need to find a shop here in Texas that can do this on my 82 GMC Sierra. Awesome informative video.
You can do it at home, really!
