Hey James, yes it’s true… they made a fool of him 😢 I’m so glad he fought back and stuck to what he was good at and what the majority of people wanted ❤️ His legacy is all of us watching and studying him almost 45 years after he was taken from us.

I went through a break up last week and we have a daughter together. I listened to the song 'separate ways' , that song made me so emotional. It's definitely how I'm feeling

The show where Elvis sings Hound Dog is from The Steve Allen Show in 56 or so. He sings to a Bassett Hound

Elvis holds back his voice very much. We can see this from takes he did of songs. His voice was so strong that he didn't know himself that was it too strong on master so he took it easyer for master. You can find this tune takes where he really opens his voice and you know what I mean. Same with others. ❤🇫🇮

James, search You Tube, Elvis Steve Allen Show 1956, Elvis said so many times that singing to a dog with a top hat with Hound Dog was one of his most embarrassing moments in his career. along with being made to to sing "Old McDonald had a Farm" in one of his films that made him decide that enough was enough and go back to live performances which kicked off with the 69 Comeback Special and the rest is history....James keep well and safe.

First time for me hearing this song.
He was an incredible artist. He was mocked and exploited. So sad but even so, he was brilliant

I’ve seen the movie 5 times, and am going again this weekend. :)
Every time I see it, i notice more cool details that I didn’t see before. I have at least 4 more in me I think.

Love this song not sure if I asked you to play this before but I'm glad you are playing it now it's a sad story about people who have very little and can still be really really happy and rich people are not always very happy which is strange 💚💕

That's true he wore a tukedo for hound dog and he hated it and he was not happy with the his manager after that as he lost his temper as he knew he was playing a character that wasn't him. Elvis always wanted to be himself

Elvis publicly was a very good sport about his appearance on the Steve Allen Show in 1956 but in private he was very, very angry at the way he had been humiliated. I understand in the new movie they used some poetic licence for this part, implying that the hound dog segment was not how he rehearsed. In reality though, Elvis was well aware how this segment would go because he DID rehearse it like that. Elvis was brought up to always respect your elders and to do as you are told. I wish on this occasion he had been a little less polite! Here is a link to like Hound Dog …. in a tux. th-cam.com/video/w3r5AiBJr2M/w-d-xo.html

It may have been the most embarrassing thing possible for Elvis but I think Hollywood realized that he had a great sense of humor and Elvis definitely capitalized on it in the mid to late 60s. Elvis already proved he could act in his first five movies on a grand scale… But his sense of humor kept people coming back to the theater and that’s why his movies made good money and he was the highest paid actor in Hollywood. If Elvis had fired Parker in 1962 I believe he would’ve accomplish his dream in Hollywood and won Oscars but in Reality he just made fun movies that made a ton of money And many of his movies had a soundtrack of songs so he made money on that too

Look for Elvis on the Steve Allen show, it was true, they made him dress like a hillbilly and made fun of him too.
