The Gap Year Guru That was so much fun, I didn't know that Dairy Milk was Irish, I always buy those here in Canada. They're not really my favorite but they are cheap so I like it :D The bonbons from "Garoto" are not the best, in my opinion only 'Crocante' and 'Serenata de Amor' worth it to buy. You guys should definitely try some trufas from "Cacau Show" or some candies from "Fini", it would be very funny to see you trying the sour ones. And yes, I want to see you guys trying "Brigadeiro", "Beijinho" and "Cajuzinho". haha Sorry if I'm being so demand. Good luck =D

You should try paçoca, guaraná mineiro, sonho de valsa (maybe all the Nestle box of chocolates), the white Lacta chocolate, guaraná Jesus (wich I dont really like but its a classic), Pitchula, and (a salty one but actually pretty good) coxinha! I heard they have those ones in the Taste Of Brazil :D lots of love from brazillll
Brazilian chocolate is not so milky because of the weather... Those chocolates are never hard here... actually sometimes they are melting. That's why you feel them "too strong" and heavy, we can not put too much milk so we put more cocoa and sugar. Garoto do not have the same quality like some years ago. I think they are trying to mantain the price reduce the quality. I sugest you other brands like Lacta, Nestlé or more exensive ones like Cacau Show, Chocolates Brasil Cacau or Kopenhagen (more expensive).
É talvez mas tem alguns chocolates de barra da lacta tipo SHOT, que valem a pena. Algo bom pra eles provarem aqui do Brasil é rapadura das boas, rocambole, quindim, pudim, nega maluca (das boas), bem casado e churros .+Gabriel Abucarub e +Aiacos Sukyo.

Hello Jess! From Garoto (Boy), my favorite is Baton, but Nestlè chocolates are much better. If you like white chocolate, Lacta is a good choice. Brazilian chocolate is usually harder because of our hot weather, otherwise it would melt.

Na realidade, os chocolates brasileiros são de baixa de qualidade. Nós exportamos nosso Cacau para a Europa e lá são produzidos chocolates finos, enquanto os Brasileiros consomem o chocolate produzido com o subproduto do cacau, a manteiga. Então, com certeza o chocolate Irlandês é melhor.

Comecei a ver os vídeos do E-Dublin TV hoje e já estou adorando! O bombom Ouro branco é mais gostoso. Experimentem mousse de maracujá, suflair, goiabada, doce de leite e tapioca. São muito bons.
I prefer "GAROTO" to any other chocolate, Lacta and Nestle are very sweet, but the BIS (Lacta) is my favorite of any other Brazilian chocolate, although not really a chocolate but a wafer.

Experimentem, acho que irão gostar, e também o Diamante Negro e o ao leite da Nestle, o preto! Como a Jess disse que prefere chocolates com gostos mais clássicos e mais cremoso, o da Nestle ao leite, é uma ótima opção pra você Jess! There are also another types of chocolates made with cocoa butter (called fractcionated chocolate). Used to decorate pies, they're not so tasty, but mantein the structure even at higher temperatures. The fact is that our best chocolates comes from Belgium, and they're very expensive.
Super nice video Jess Baton is the portuguese word for lipstick, it used to be very famous when I was a child As many people already said, Garoto is note the best brand of brazilian chocolates. All the brands have one of theses boxes with there most famous and best seller chocolates so you can have one or two miniature of your favorites. I really think you should try Nestlé and Lacta, we can help you with the ones that are sold just in Brazil.

Hello, Jess! The bonbon box you picked is a classic in the whole of Brazil and even in some South American countries. It is not exactly a fancy chocolate, so not the kind you would specially like, since you have acess to many incredible European brands. People here are suggesting Nestlé or Lacta boxes, but I don't think you will find them much better (or worse) than the Garoto ones. Personally, from them three (Garoto, Nestlé, Lacta), I prefer Garoto chocolate when it comes to the bar (not the bonbon), but I don't know if you can find Brazilian chocolate bars in Ireland. Anyway, the best Brazilian chocolate, in my opinion, is Kopenhagen, which, just like Buttler's in Ireland, you can only find them at Kopenhagen stores. You should ask someone to bring some to you from Brazil. They are expensive, but they taste really good, believe me. About the bonbons you guys tried in the video, "Serenata de Amor" ("Serenate of Love") is the main one, the kind that everyone looks for once the box is opened. "Crocante" is also very good and the same goes for "Baton". I don't like "Mel" (which means "honey") and neither did you loool. In Brazil they are not hard like what you experienced. I guess it is due to the temperature in Dublin the day you tried it. Besides that, Garoto has a series of chocolates called "Tradição" - you should definitely try them. Last but not least, you should ask one of your Brazilian friends to prepare a "pavê de bombom" (also called "pavê de Sonho de Valsa" ou "pavê de Serenata de Amor), which is made with Sonho de Valsa or Serenata de Amor bonbons. They are just the same, they only change names according to the company that produces them. It is the best dessert ever! Ask Mah, for instance.
Hello Jess! Your brother should try CAIPIRINHA. The cachaça is too strong, But caipirinha is good! The traditional one is made with lemon, but there are others that are good too, made with strawberry or grapes or kiwi (in some places they call it "caipirosca"). Happy Easter!!!

Of these chocolates you tasted, even though I also prefer the Baton(lipstick) one, I think it's too milky and sweet, I like better the bittersweet ones that weren't in your box. Ohhhh... you should try some "salgadinhos" too. When I was in Dublin I´ve missed some of these. Like Fandangos, Baconzitos, Cheetos, Cebolitos, Stiksy, Pingo de Ouro. There´s a lot of "salgadinhos" in Dublin, but I didn´t see these ones outside Brasil. It´s just an idea!

Nice video Jess! As a chocaholic, you should definitely try our Lacta Ao leite chocolate bar (it has blue packaging)... it's very milky, soft and delicious... I have tried Cadbury when I was in England, and I believe the one I mentioned is pretty much similar. (p.s: if you happen to eat our chocolate when it's very cold in Dublin, try to microwave it for about 10 seconds- do not melt it- it will keep it soft just like it is here) Beijos

Try the box of lacta chocolates, nestle too. Cachaça is good with lemon (the green one) we called it caipirinha, sometimes with a little bit of maracujá (fruit yellow). The best candies of Brazil are pudim, pavê, doce de leite, and teta de moça (like marshmallow with chocolate and biscuit). The chocolate in here are strong and so hard to eat but some of them are good.
There is many kinds of chocolates in brazil dear Jess. Some cities are specialists to produce chocolates in easter times. So probably you will find differents tastes of brazilian chocolates, we have a lot of brands and there is a lot of small cities that produce handmade chocolate. You just have to find the one that tastes good for you sweet Jess... hahahahahaa happy easter and let`s give cachaca for your brother....

Esses chocolates mais escuros, são os amargos, são eles que geralmente vem nas caixas tipo Garoto, que são mais populares. Mas tem barras tipo Ao Leite, que são mais leves, e minhas preferidas. Beijos, adorei o video.

Hi Jess, and hi Darragh, I though that you and your brother test a Lacta, Nestlé, Bis chocolats. Both is so delicious. "Diamante negro" (in translate Black diamond) is of Lacta Chocolats, and are tasty! You have to prove it, for my is wonderfull chcolat. I agree that a guy say a "Tuchaua guaraná", is good as the other guaraná! Exist must soft drinks in Brazil. "Guaraná Jesus" in the nort of the country, it is pink and very people like this. As to "cachaça" it is worth noting the use of sugar and lemon in the preparation. Have a nice day, and remember: not exist only chocolats in Brazil, others candies of here is so delicious. :))

Here in Brazil is very common to find chocolates with peanuts, unfortunately you are allergic, take care hehe! Anyway, I also prefer the chocolates of Ireland, the brazilian ones are too sweet!

A ultima caixa de bombons da garoto boa que eu comi foi em 2004 quando tinha variados tipos de mundy, tinha o nougat que era até um pouco amargo, tinha o opereta e o alo doçura que era chocolate puro na época.

Experimentem, acho que irão gostar, e também o Diamante Negro e o ao leite da Nestle, o preto! Como a Jess disse que prefere chocolates com gostos mais clássicos e mais cremoso, o da Nestle ao leite, é uma ótima opção pra você Jess! A gente não liga muito pra comer ele sozinho, pois ele é muito bom sozinho também! O da Nestle É MARAVILHOSO, e você distingue logo , pois tem um nome bem grande na embalagem, MOÇA , com uma moça também na embalagem, existem os de latinhas e os de caixa, a preferência vai com cada um, o da Nestle é um pouco mais caro, não existe muita diferença, mas existe ao mesmo tempo haha, (dos outros) pra mim, tem mais cremosidade e mais sabor. ♥

There are also another types of chocolates made with cocoa butter (called fractcionated chocolate). Used to decorate pies, they're not so tasty, but mantein the structure even at higher temperatures. The fact is that our best chocolates comes from Belgium, and they're very expensive.

As many people already said, Garoto is note the best brand of brazilian chocolates. All the brands have one of theses boxes with there most famous and best seller chocolates so you can have one or two miniature of your favorites. I really think you should try Nestlé and Lacta, we can help you with the ones that are sold just in Brazil.

Hello, Jess! The bonbon box you picked is a classic in the whole of Brazil and even in some South American countries. It is not exactly a fancy chocolate, so not the kind you would specially like, since you have acess to many incredible European brands. People here are suggesting Nestlé or Lacta boxes, but I don't think you will find them much better (or worse) than the Garoto ones. Personally, from them three (Garoto, Nestlé, Lacta), I prefer Garoto chocolate when it comes to the bar (not the bonbon), but I don't know if you can find Brazilian chocolate bars in Ireland. Anyway, the best Brazilian chocolate, in my opinion, is Kopenhagen, which, just like Buttler's in Ireland, you can only find them at Kopenhagen stores. You should ask someone to bring some to you from Brazil. They are expensive, but they taste really good, believe me. About the bonbons you guys tried in the video, "Serenata de Amor" ("Serenate of Love") is the main one, the kind that everyone looks for once the box is opened. "Crocante" is also very good and the same goes for "Baton". I don't like "Mel" (which means "honey") and neither did you loool. In Brazil they are not hard like what you experienced. I guess it is due to the temperature in Dublin the day you tried it. Besides that, Garoto has a series of chocolates called "Tradição" - you should definitely try them. Last but not least, you should ask one of your Brazilian friends to prepare a "pavê de bombom" (also called "pavê de Sonho de Valsa" ou "pavê de Serenata de Amor), which is made with Sonho de Valsa or Serenata de Amor bonbons. They are just the same, they only change names according to the company that produces them. It is the best dessert ever! Ask Mah, for instance.

Hello Jess! Your brother should try CAIPIRINHA. The cachaça is too strong, But caipirinha is good! The traditional one is made with lemon, but there are others that are good too, made with strawberry or grapes or kiwi (in some places they call it "caipirosca"). Happy Easter!!!

Of these chocolates you tasted, even though I also prefer the Baton(lipstick) one, I think it's too milky and sweet, I like better the bittersweet ones that weren't in your box. Ohhhh... you should try some "salgadinhos" too. When I was in Dublin I´ve missed some of these. Like Fandangos, Baconzitos, Cheetos, Cebolitos, Stiksy, Pingo de Ouro. There´s a lot of "salgadinhos" in Dublin, but I didn´t see these ones outside Brasil. It´s just an idea!

Nice video Jess! As a chocaholic, you should definitely try our Lacta Ao leite chocolate bar (it has blue packaging)... it's very milky, soft and delicious... I have tried Cadbury when I was in England, and I believe the one I mentioned is pretty much similar. (p.s: if you happen to eat our chocolate when it's very cold in Dublin, try to microwave it for about 10 seconds- do not melt it- it will keep it soft just like it is here) Beijos

Try the box of lacta chocolates, nestle too. Cachaça is good with lemon (the green one) we called it caipirinha, sometimes with a little bit of maracujá (fruit yellow). The best candies of Brazil are pudim, pavê, doce de leite, and teta de moça (like marshmallow with chocolate and biscuit). The chocolate in here are strong and so hard to eat but some of them are good.
There is many kinds of chocolates in brazil dear Jess. Some cities are specialists to produce chocolates in easter times. So probably you will find differents tastes of brazilian chocolates, we have a lot of brands and there is a lot of small cities that produce handmade chocolate. You just have to find the one that tastes good for you sweet Jess... hahahahahaa happy easter and let`s give cachaca for your brother....

Hi Jess, and hi Darragh, I though that you and your brother test a Lacta, Nestlé, Bis chocolats. Both is so delicious. "Diamante negro" (in translate Black diamond) is of Lacta Chocolats, and are tasty! You have to prove it, for my is wonderfull chcolat. I agree that a guy say a "Tuchaua guaraná", is good as the other guaraná! Exist must soft drinks in Brazil. "Guaraná Jesus" in the nort of the country, it is pink and very people like this. As to "cachaça" it is worth noting the use of sugar and lemon in the preparation. Have a nice day, and remember: not exist only chocolats in Brazil, others candies of here is so delicious. :))

So, this is not the best box of chocolates, but my favorite in this box is Serenata de Amor. Here in Brazil is very common to find chocolates with peanuts, unfortunately you are allergic, take care hehe! Anyway, I also prefer the chocolates of Ireland, the brazilian ones are too sweet!

A ultima caixa de bombons da garoto boa que eu comi foi em 2004 quando tinha variados tipos de mundy, tinha o nougat que era até um pouco amargo, tinha o opereta e o alo doçura que era chocolate puro na época.
