What an amazing video! My girlfriend just send me this and guess what? She is a Brazilian currently living in Brazil. And I am a Dutch.
In the end of September I am going for the first time to Brazil in my life. I really can not wait ;)
And we also stumbled on a lot hard moments.
But until now we survived it all and are 10 months together which she was a total of 4 months with me. And 6 months apart.
And you are so right!
It's the hardest and most relationship I've ever had.

Morando junto ha mais de dois anos e comprovando que realmente tem um relacionamento serio e verdadeiro, mostrando contas, mensagens, ferias,contas bancaria juntos etc etc. A Irlanda pode fornecer o visto para ele como De Facto Partnership, sem precisar casar o processo dura em torno de 6 meses.. e agora a lei mudou nao mais 2 anos e sim 1 ano morando junto, pode aplcar para o De Facto Partenership. e nao precisa casar.

After 2 years with my Irish bf I've been through the same thing, the same tension. Every year is a drama and now the student visa gets more and more expensive but if we really trust things get easier when there's mutual support. People all the time talk about marriage but maybe for us it's not the time yet or just not the dream. Im pretty sure the best thing is going to happen for both of us jess (my name is Jessica as well 😄). Arua will be back in Dublin soon and me too :) I really believe that at the eend happiness is what we are going to find. All the best for you guys! Fingers crossed!

Hi, Jess !! Por acaso estou ouvindo você, após uma navegação e outra pela InterNet. O fato é que se estou seguindo seu "desabafo" como referistes haha... (enquanto que ao-meu-ver) estou mesmo é ouvindo uma história a-mais de amor, para além de ter me simpatizado com a sua pessoa. Tão jovem e LINDINHA você!!!! Também me encaixo em relacionamento internacional (e isso já se passaram 33 anos desde que nus casamos). A prole chegou, cresceu, e tem sido tudo SEMPRE SEMPRE um GRANDE DESAFIO nossas vidas juntas. Somamos em quatro os membros da familia. Em todo caso: acredito que se eu e meu marido nus conhecemos outrora, gostamos e decidimos nus casar, construir familia, e partilhar nossa jornada de vida juntos, é porque teve haver uma RAZÃO por traz de tudo isso.

Meu bisavô nasceu no norte Portugal numa cidade chamada Moledo, veio pro Brasil se casou com uma brasileira. Eles tiveram três filhos, dois homens e uma mulher. Hoje meu avô 84 anos vai fazer 85 em 2020 ele nasceu em 1935.

Tá na hora do senhor Aruã pedir a sua mão em casamento, oficializar a união e vocês conseguirem a dupla cidadania! Manda o moço parar de enrolar e comprar logo os anéis de noivado! Acho que no Brasil depois do casamento civil o processo não deve ser tão enrolado, mas certamente com alguma burocracia! Não sei o caso como é na Irlanda! Vocês terão que provar para as autoridades dos dois países que o casamento é real e não um acordo para greencards e isto certamente não será um problema!

I completely understand you because I know myself how difficult it is to have an international relationship.
I am Brazilian and my wife is Russian. We met in Dublin in June 2013 but she stayed in Ireland only for 3 months and in September she needed to return to Russia and I was still in Ireland and we cried rivers when we said goodbye but we did not break up. My visa expired in October of the same year and I went backpacking in Europe and I decided to visit her in November. We were together for only 11 days then I took a flight to Dublin to pack my things and to say goodbye to the Emerald Island and after 3 days I was in Brazil. Afterwards, I came here in the end of December 2013 and on New Years’ eve I made her a proposal, even though we did not know how or when we were going to stay together permanently. I stayed here in Russia till March 2014, then I went back to Brazil and it was our 3rd farewell. I stayed in Brazil from March till June 2013, I finished my university course and we had an idea to make business in Russia in order I could come to live here for some time, make some money and after we would go back to Ireland, but we needed to get married. The problem was that I was planning to get married in 4 or 5 years at least, but it was the only way to stay here. I came here, we got married, our plans did not work and we were in a long visa process. They said at the Immigration centre that I needed to leave the country while the visa was in process and after 6 months I would be allowed to return to Russia. However, her father knows some people from the immigration centre and two days before my return ticket to Brazil, my visa was ready. I have been here in Russia for 2 years and 1 month now and life has been really really hard here. I am away from my family and friends, I do not have any friends here because Russians are not very easy going/outgoing people, furthermore I cannot get myself to learn Russian. Summarizing, it is extremely difficult to have a foreigner as a partner/spouse, you must be very brave and trusting and so on as you said.
The only way to stay in Russia for me was getting married but I know that in Ireland it is possible for a foreigner to get a Stamp 4 visa if you prove that you are in a serious relationship with an Irish citizen. Can’t you and Aruã try this process?
I am sorry for the long text, most likely you will not read it at all but I identified myself with your story and I felt a great desire to share and to get this off my chest.

I just celebrated 4 years of relationship too with Andre, and thought for a moment how painful would be if he wasn't here to celebrate this great moment with me. Can't even imagine how hard this if for you!
And even though me and Andre are both Brazilians, the 'renewing visa' moment is always tense and not pleasant at all. Is always tricky trying to figure out what the other person wants, and after starting the process, waiting to know if is gonna be approved etc etc (and I have a work visa so I'm aware how bureaucratic and long the process can be, a pain in the arse! haha)
But anyway, I really hope his visa process go fast and smooth and that soon you guys can be together again and laugh about all this. If you ever need to vent about these things, you can always count on me! I heard caipirinhas can always help to make you feel better! haha

I know exactly how hard it's to be in love with someone of a different nacionality, it's even harder be in a ldr (long date relationship)... I felt in love with an English man when I was studying in London and even before I leave, we decided that we wanted to be together. I'm going through that right now Jess... My boyfriend's visa is almost expiring, but next week we're going to the Federal Police to try an extension. We're together only for a few months now, but I'm having the best life with him and I know he's the one I wanna be with. :D
