As an Aussie I love watching your videos and the amazing country America has to offer. Its a good change from the Australia shows.Keep up the good work.
Sometimes I’m cranky and just need a nap too. Or ice cream. Lol. We did a trip to the redwoods a few years ago and loved it. Great video. I really appreciate the family footage you put into these videos.
To be fair, I'm also cranky a lot of the time! Yeah the redwoods are a great place to take the kids. I'm sure I'll be taking him back when he's a little older.
You might not realize this but your videos help me so much to just relax when I need to ease my mind and I’m sure you help others to . Thanks bro keep up the good work
So beautiful. When I watch your videos the world falls away. They’re always too short and leaving me wanting more. I teach preschool and love your son joining you, he’s such an easy going toddler, learning so much about the world already ❤
All these years following nomads and I never heard about hip camp. Amazing and some within 10 miles of me here in nomad wasteland South Carolina. Nice to see a wife. That sealed my subscribing.
Another great video, Rob! Just love how you are taking your son everywhere... I did the same with mine. So much to see out there, and you and your awesome ability to capture the beauty of outdoors is just awe inspiring. Youre hitting a lit if the area my wife and i nust hit a few weeks ago. If you're still in the area for a while drop me a line, would love to meet up for a trail or something!!!
When you mentioned having trouble camping, my first thought was “try Hipcamp” cause there are a *ton* in California, esp Northern. I’m happy it worked out for you! If you have any recommended ones near Redwood NP, please share - heading up there!
Yeah I’m glad someone told me about it! I liked the spots we stayed at near the Redwoods area, but felt they were very expensive for what was essentially a field.
I'm glad you took the back road into Jedediah Smith. Definitely a "can't miss". I went to college in Arcata. Nice to see some of the old stomping grounds. Thanks for the video.
At some point, I’d love a long term update on the tundra. Overall ownership impressions and reliability. We all want to know about that 3.4L v6 after so many miles!
I grew up in Humboldt county, and remember camping in the redwoods as a kid in the 90s. We would just show up to the state park ranger station, and there would be plenty of campsites available. I visited earlier this year and tried to camp. It’s disheartening how impossible it feels to get a site now
Driving over mountains can hurt sensitive ears. Doesn't have to be an infection. Different people react differently to changing conditions. If your lad has just got over an infection maybe he's extra sensitive to altitude air pressure changes for a while?
That’s very possible! The hills were only a couple of thousand feet, but he’s young enough that he doesn’t know how to clear his ears when they need to pop!
@@RevereOverland My missus never learned to pop her ears (weird, huh?) and now can't do it. Even driving over relatively small hills can make her feel ill. Flying is a real pain. She uses special earplugs to help reduce the changes in pressure, and they help a little.
It is! I've used both a 5.5' and 6.5' AluCab, and while the extra space inside is nice, I didn't feel it was worth the extra challenge of the significantly worse turning circle! That's just personal preference though.

I’m happy to hear it helps!
@@treboy it sure does. I love Revere Overland videos. It’s very relaxing watching and way better than discovery channel.
My wife and I were watching your video and we're so excited to see Elizabeth. We missed seeing her in your videos. Beautiful family.
Yeah I'd like to get her out more!
What a great relaxing ride! Fantastic video.
Thank you!

I was there 2 weeks ago absolutely beautiful….. never get tired of the views
It's a beautiful area. We loved the redwood walks too!

Welcome! Someone introduced me to Hipcamp about 2 weeks before this trip, and I’m glad they did!
A few minutes into the video, I honestly asked myself what your wife was up to. And lo and behold. Beautiful family ❤
Thanks! She has been nearby the whole trip, but work stops her from joining me most the time.

That's awesome! We did this in July - I'm really behind on editing!
I love how 0:17 there's what looks like an eagle landing in the tree.
Yeah I didn't notice it at all when I was there! It wasn't until I edited this video that I spotted it.
Hipcamp is a great service. I use them all the time here in TN where everything is private too.
I need to look into it around here in KY too. We've always struggled on the KAT with camping.
Hi Rob, thank you so much for sharing this video. I enjoyed it. Have a great day.
Thanks! It was a lot of fun to film and edit.

I was thinking about doing an update at 100k miles, but that’s probably a way off yet! It’s currently at 71k, and isn’t perfect.

Yeah it’s very busy along the coast. I’m sure there are better times of year to visit though!
Loved this episode
Thanks!
Epic video like always!! Need to do a video when you hit 100k miles on Tundra!
I will!
Camping in California always requires some advance planning it seems.
It certainly seems that way along the coast. I haven’t had any issues east of the Sierras.
We are in the same position here in NY. 90% of the state is private land.
Yeah the whole east side of the US is definitely more challenging
When you do your drone shots do you have a mount for your drone controller? Haven’t found the best way for me yet was wondering if you had advice
I don’t, sorry. If anyone asks, I have a driver or something.
Amazing! How long on the road with the little guy overall on this trip?
I spent about 10 weeks camping with him this summer

@@broadsword6650 that just blew my mind. It's like when I learned that some people don't have that inner voice that narrates everything 😂
dumb question but is your truck short-bed? if so, why did you pick short-bed over the long-bed?

What’s a hip camp?
It’s like an Airbnb for land/campsites
