    The sad thing is that you basically can‘t get it to europe without paying 40$ shipping and another 50import tax which makes this a 280$ backpack… 😢 would love this but that‘s not a price i am willing to pay

    Nice bag - thanks for the review. So close to perfect.
    Needs 2 changes:
    1) dual zippers on side compartments as you say
    2) the drone storage on the back should be a panel that's hinged at one edge, so you can flip it out when you set it on the ground - therefore backpack is flat, drones are dry/clean, and you have access to everything. Then when time to go, you fold it back together, containing any mess between the 2 halves - best of all worlds

    Man, someone has to come up with a backpack for us the urban dwellers. If my drone is visible from outside i'm asking to be mugged. And guards are going to spot me before i can fly.

    • @sorcererspicnic7052
      @sorcererspicnic7052 ปีที่แล้ว

      This looks rad, but for real, but it's the same issue for us backcountry dwellers.
      We hike and fly a reasonable amount, sometimes you're moving through bush and forest and having quads on the outside is just not ideal.
      They get hung up on shit and banged against stuff.
      Also, again, there are some strong attitudes against quads among folks you might find out in the mountains, so keeping things low profile is my preference.
      I actually have the AuLine bag, and it's super good. It has heaps of space to fit all your stuff inside.
      I can pack a 5 inch, and an explorer inside, and strap a 7 to the outside if I want to go all out.
      Plus, it has heaps of room for carrying water and food and even some light layers, like a rain jacket. In top of tools, lipos, gopros etc.
      And the most important part is that it has a waist strap, for when you're walking for a couple of hours.

    Some things I would've liked to see included in the review:
    Can you buy additional or replacement straps to strap the quad down? -- Not currently (I checked)
    Does it come with a battery bag? Is that an option for additional cost? -- Available for an additional 15$
    Thank you for the review though. You continue to be my most trusted source for this type of information.

  • @ChrisBairKeto

    doesn't the outermost panel (I'm guessing for the laptop) with the quads attached zip open so the backpack could lay flat?

    I started my FPV adventure in March and just grabbed the cheapest FPV bag on Amazon. Surprise, surprise...I destroyed that quickly. One night, the right strap just...gave up and tore entirely off. Anyway, the following morning when I started shopping...was this bags launch. It was destiny. 😂 I bring this along every time I leave the house because it feels so durable, is quick, easy to grab, and I don't have think about what to grab because it has room for literature everything I've aquired for FPV. I absolutely love this bag.
    I will admit...the price tag had me a little 'ehhhh', similar to the Torvol I was eyeing. I was honestly getting online to buy a Torvol and my browser was still open to RotorRiot from the night before. I somewhat impulse bought it over the Torvol, but only because it checked all the boxes I was looking for, plus other boxes I wasn't aware I needed checked...and the branding is fantastic - the RR logo pressed into the top, RR logo embroidered on the shoulder strap, and even down to the 'Rotor Riot designed by Let's Fly RC' tag.
    Awesome bag, and I'm extremely happy with the purchase (so far). Durability permitting, but I have no worries there because it feels so well made. Great job Let's Fly RC and Rotor Riot!

    What a good seller. Just a remark: The radio master case comes with no extra money when you buy the tx. The compartment section could be savaged from camera bag. There are always budget solutions. But if you don't want to DIY and have the money sure this bag is a no-brainer.

    One thing that is missing. . . A LiPo charging/storage compartment, either built-in or velcro removable. Otherwise the backpack is a backpack called an 'FPV backpack' to sell as a 'FPV backpack' enough to raise the price of a $49.99 backpack to a ridiculous $200 price point FPV bBackpack.

    Why is everyone always trying to lay down backpacks that very clearly were designed to stand…I have the smaller Pyrodrone bag, and use it vertical to load and unload. Nothing gets dirty, don’t have to lay anything on top of aircraft, nothing falls out…? Everyone has their way, rock on and happy flying. I really dig the quick side access and the hard shell at the top.

    • @nullfield1126
      @nullfield1126 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Torvol backpack, for one, is designed in a way that makes you have to lay it down, unless you want to hold the flap up the entire time.
      Other bags? Sure. I'm with you on this.
      They bother to put hard bottom plates for exactly this reason.

    You should point people to the RDQ bag when talking about budget bags, which is $80. I have been using it for nearly 3 years now. It works well, has plenty of room, and has a great warranty(RDQ replaced mine after the shoulder strap got pulled out after a year). It has its flaws, mainly weak Velcro, but it's better than a tacticool backpack for FPV.

    And every time you lay the bag down (front or back) you bang your transmitter gimbals into the rigid top. Might be nice to have a retainer strap in that top compartment for the transmitter. There's always another point of view. The whole backpack thing is so subjective. I happen to like my RDQ backpack, but like the old shoes, I've gotten comfortable with it. :)

    Ordered this bag last night from your link on the flight home from my vacation. My Torvol Mini Explorer pack left shoulder strap started to come off and so did the grab handle after a few days of travel and by the time I got home late last night the right shoulder strap has almost completely separated from the pack. It’s been a good ride with the pack but it’s being replaced with this new Rotor Riot bag! I also have the iFlight pack which I liked in concept but I was constantly trying to figure out ways to get the dividers to stick. The velcro is actually fine because the dividers stick perfectly in the Torvol bag but no velcro would stick to the inner material of the iFlight bag. I should have sent it back immediately but I thought over time it would get better. I’m hoping the iFlight dividers fit well in the Rotor Riot bag because I like the little mesh pockets on them and could put them to use there. Thanks for the great review.

    The LowePro Pro Tactic 2 is around $200 if you shop around. It is a MOLLE stylecamera bag and it is absolutely PERFECT for FPV! Or camera drones, or photography, or anything else that you have expensive shit that you need to protect. I can fit 3 drones (Avata, Mini 3 Pro, Air 2S) inside and 2 Quadcopters strapped to the outside. (5 inch freestyle) Also holds my GoPro and GoPro Accessories, Shotgun Mic, Wireless Mic, Goggles V2 DJI RC (The one with the screen) , DJI FPV Controller, Radiomaster Boxer, Batteries for all DJI Drones and a bunch of props, tools, and other stuff that I'm sure I'm forgetting. If I wanted to carry my laptop, It would be tight, but it will fit. The only thing I can't fit is lipos, but if I take out the camera drones, then Lipos fit! I added a couple pouches on the outside for various things, which is the beauty of the MOLLE system. And I almost forgot, A full size tripod can be strapped to the bag too! If you want literally the best bag to protect and carry your expensive stuff, ProTactic 2. No I don't have an affiliate link, I just really love my Backpack!

    Surely if you’re bringing a new backpack to market, you’d look at what your competitors do well and build that in. The Torvol rain cover packs away nicely into the base, I don’t understand why they’ve not done this, unless it would bump the price of manufacture up too much.
    I’m happy with the Torvol pro bag, only thing I’d change is raising the bottom strap to give you more clearance, I think you’ve covered this before. I’ve been using it for well over a year and it’s holding up well.

    I love your content. FPV backpacks suck imo though. What's stopping everyone from getting a thrift shop back pack for 5 bucks and sewing on drone straps on the back for drone to velcro them on? What if you did a home made FPV diy solution us poor people can afford? Honestly, I'm just jealous, because I can't afford one. ;) This one is actually badass. Probably it would be hard to DIY. The rubber bottom is sweet as well. Noticed the Fly High FPV shirt. That dude makes killer FPV Gopro prints. Good content as well. Good morning, and have a good rest of your day. Mr. Bardwell. The side pocket would be much nicer if the zipper was on top when closed. Is there a reason it was designed to open from the bottom instead of the top? You can put loose change in there so if a pickpocket opens it you get a jingle instead of them reaching their hand in to grab something? :D

      The side pocket does open from the top. Maybe I'm misunderstanding you.

    Why do so many of these designers put straps over side doors?? Yeah it’s optimal for a tripod but we probably use the door more. Why block the door?

      Comparison shop to other bags of this style, including photography bags, and you'll see the price is pretty normal. This style of bag is expensive to make.

    Looks like a great backpack over all. I sorta worry it doesn't have enough individual storage spots. Currently I use the iFlight and the storage allows me to have a place for everything so I always know where to look. The inside of the bag looks better than the iFlight though. Don't know if its cause it has stiffer walls or what, but it looks like it may be better for fitting more stuff. Was considering buying it and giving my iFlight to a friend who will never spend that much on a back pack even though he's broke the sma plug off a set of goggles cause he uses a soft bag. Good thing he likes fixing stuff LOL. If I do I'll make sure to use the affiliate link. Thank you Bardwell

    • @JoshuaBardwell
      @JoshuaBardwell  ปีที่แล้ว

      The only similarity I see is that they both have bungee and straps across the front, and both are back-opening. The Pyro backpack does not have a separate top-opening controller compartment. Its side pocket layout is totally different. Its interior pocket layout is totally different. Pyro has Molle webbing on the sides and a waist strap; RR does not. Etc.

    $190 is absurd for a backpack. Just go to your local outdoors shop and pick up a regular backpack for 1/4 the price. It will carry all your stuff exactly the same, all while being lighter and much better to actually hike with
