Excellent job! I don’t get why here in the UK we don’t sell more of these corner benches on the retail market. It’s as if manufacturers forgot people may want/need them. My living room has a kitchen door built-in so i am trying to find s suitable L-style dining bench to fit in. Its a struggle finding anything decent to fit in my current space.

Thanks for the very kind comment -- too true!
I did half think of making some to sell but not sure my joinery is good enough...
The options seem so slim -- you've probably seen that some people have hacked IKEA cabinets into benches to also use for storage, but sounds like your space is specific.
Good luck on getting something there and thanks again!

Wow am I really the 1st to comment?
These benches are a great idea, been thinking of doing something similar in my bar window when I get around to doing that room out, obviously would do a vlog similar if I did it lol.
Just a idea here, instead of the Mitre Saw you could have clamped a straight piece of wood on the piece you are cutting are the perfect point for the jigsaw to run across that in theory would give you a straight line (hopefully that makes sense? haha) just a idea if you ever do a project with in in the future, worth a try.

Thanks Tony! That's genius about the jigsaw tip - not tried that, and sounds a lot easier than getting a saw table! Cant wait to try that out - thanks again

No problem, in theory it would work, just got to make use the piece you are using is straight haha

Hi, brilliant vid, thanks. I’m going to be building this for my sister on Saturday. In wickes, they have sawn kiln dried C16 timber, 95mm by 45mm. Will this be ok for it? Many thanks mate

Hi thanks for the v kind comment.
      That sounds like it's perfect - the one I used was Wickes Studwork C16 CLS Timber - 38 x 89 x 2400mm - I like the rounded sides
But yours looks perfect too - good luck!

@@DADDELIVERSthanks for the response. Do you have a video of your wife doing the finished cushion for the top? I’d like a tutorial & the finished look of this project

      Thanks for the kind reply.
I sort of videoed it but she was winging it so haven't made a tutorial - here's the cushions in motion

There are lots of tutorials on how to make box cushions or seat cushions which might be better and help!
      Fingers crossed for your project!

Awesome video! What width did you make the bench?

    • @DADDELIVERS
      @DADDELIVERS  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Thanks for the kind comment and question Alexandra and sorry it's taken so long to reply: the bench is 40cm wide (deep). This is the same width/depth as a standard IKEA wooden chair. Hope this helps and thanks again.
