I’ve had a Delonghi 10 ltr dehumidifier for years and although it performs very well for its size, it’s very noisy and doesn’t work for the whole house. I have a Victorian 2 bed semi with solid nine inch walls and double glazing so damp is a problem here. I took your advice and decided to go large with a new Meaco Arête 2. I bout a 25Ltr model which was only £30 more than the 20 Ltr model and has the same external dimensions. So far it incredibly quiet and seems to be extracting the water well. I’ll let you know how it goes after a few weeks of use. Meanwhile thank you for posting your review, it answered a few questions for me.

When you watch a review where the person doesn't understand what their looking at. And like something because it looks jollier. I'll say one thing the Samsung uses crystal plastic all through their fridges. You know the plastic shelves that break easy. Fisher and Paykel uses those white shelves the plastic is more durable and less likely to break. I like the look but maybe it makes the fridge jollier. Ge are the masters of humidity control and their fridges as standard are around 70% humidity. You could put a lettece in the main fridge and it will look fresh 2 weeks later. Samsung use a similar tech at least they used to. Essentially cooling the fridge and freezer separately so Icy dry air from the freezer doesn't cool the fridge raising the humidity level. Ge were at 70% which was optimal for food preservation and Samsung used to be 40% that's if they still do that. Maybe they don't haven't heard anything about it in some time.

I live in the Caribbean and believe it or not we have very similar issues especially during our rainy season! Mould is quite a problem in my home and you’ve convinced me to get a dehumidifier and the gauge! Thank you sir!

Blimey how that year has passed. I made a comment on your vid ( dehumidifier full control panel tour and instructions! ARETE ONE) I felt your pain as you descended the stairs, yep they are heavy and I am not 100% confident on the structural strength of that handle. Anyway I digress, in my opinion, if budget allows, go for the 20ltr which is the one I purchased and so pleased that I did. Money well spent for all the reasons that you say. My only shock was the cost of replacing the HEPA filter, £40 for three, bought back in September. But then again thats £13.33 each and they last at least 9 months. The dehumidifier warms the room, slowly, as the day goes on, as it consumes electricity and converts part of it into heat energy. Hence the room feels warmer. If you buy an A-frame clothes drying rack, and place the dehumidifier underneath it, it dries washing within 2 hours. A wet bathtowel within about 1 hour. If practical, add a drainage hose to the bottom of the water container, so you don’t need to empty it. Great video btw!

Completely agree, just bought a maeco Arete one 25L and it’s doing a great job

Weve had the arete one for about 2 years, was great at 1st, still going strong, but it is noisier than when it was new, we use it to dry clothes in the spare room, we cant have it on during the night anymore

Superb machine, however the connection to WiFi is at 2.4 and not possible in newer 5g WiFi. Stupid

The app map shows colour coded cycle paths and stand locations and info clearly but google maps ,(cycle mode) is a better turn by turn and guidance map. Its isnt as good with stand locations of course.

We’ve had a 12L one for about 4 years now. Very old Cornish terrace cottage. We still get mould, but a lot less. Your vid has made me consider getting a 20l one as well.

The Meaco 18L is only available from Costco. It is not in the official Meaco web site. What are the difference? Cannot compare features of the 18L and the 20L. Can anyone help?

As an FYI for those in more modern houses, my house (4 bed) is just 9 years old but the main bathroom has no window just an extractor fan so mould became a problem especially in winter. I got a 12L Arete and placed in on the landing, treated and repainted the bathroom ceiling with anti-mould paint and one year later no mould! No condensation on any interior windows either.

We bought a new stainless steel LG side by side with ice despenser and water in the left door with slight dings in the bottom door for a reduced price of $450 with free delivery (from Lowe’s here in NC) and old fridge haul away. Was last year’s model and the minor dings made it a bargain for our second fridge we store in the garage. We were told new refrigerators are designed to handle the hot environments that garages endure.

How about a fix for when the display panel fails!! I have 4 of these and 2 have failed. Totally unreliable

I completely reset my phone, disabled Google assistant, talk back and every option I could find. Google still reads searches back even if i lock the screen. I don't get what changed. I used to be able to hit volume down and it would stop play back.
