RabbidLuigi, you’ve got excellent taste in video games. Bioshock, Super Mario World, Resident Evil 4, Call of Duty 4, Team Fortress 2, Pokémon 2nd gen, Legend of Zelda Wind Waker, Metal Gear Solid 3 - I’ve played and loved these games to death. Never played Xenoblade Chronicles or Binding of Isaac, though. I’ll have to fix that eventually.
I've beaten MGS3 two days ago, and my god, it is one of the best video games ever, and best experiences I've had in a long time. While I can't help but be a bit annoyed by the amount of unrealistic stuff (all the supernatural stuff in the game, or how the chase near the end pauses when you talk over radio etc), I really love this game, my love for much more realistic stealth games (like Thief 2) aside.
well i liked the supernatural stuff either way mgs 3 is my favourite pure stealth game. On a close second is splinter cell chaos theory or pandora tommorow. And if we count hybrid games like rpg/stealth/fps deus ex is fantastic.
Tord L No offense to you, but I can't get how you can prefer MGS3 as a pure stealth game more than Chaos Theory. MGS3's stealth elements are wonky, that is, it isn't that much of a stealth game. Sure, there's crawling around etc, but Chaos Theory is a much better stealth game. Also it's one of my favorite video games for sure, every mission was amazing, it was a blast from beginning to the end.
Happytreefriendsfan3 all right mate i said it wrong, or phrased it wrong, lets just say i agree with you when i think about it, yes from a pure gameplay point of view chaos theory is better. And while mgs 3 might have atad bit wonky gameplay and that is regarding takedown imo , the other works pretty damn well. Is still damn satisfying to do a full non lethal, not seen playtrough , but so is chaos theory with 100 percent on every map on expert, still what i felt is more satisfyng might be mgs 3 due to that is harder to take takedown and is a little bit easier to be seen. Now yes i agre that as and outright stealth game splinter cell chaos theory might be better and might even due to it better regarding pure replay value. And yeah i finished it four times and every mission is good, however the second part of soul is a bit irrating when the announce the tanks, but yeah both are very good. But as a game i prefer mgs 3 due to it story, plot , characters / bosses perhaps even music. Anyway yes if we talk about gameplay yes splinter chaos theory is better ,but i dont think mgs 3 on a full non lethal walktrough and not being seen is bad either even tough is a little bit wonky not much a bit.
Tord L Yeah, when it comes to the plot, music and other stuff that make up for the atmosphere of the game, MGS3 has that something that makes me love it more, but when it comes to the gameplay, while it is great and I had fun, plus it was fun to sneak around (I was especially surprised how much gameplay there actually was, MGS1 and MGS2 have nothing on MGS3 when it comes to the gameplay and the amount of areas in the game), Chaos Theory still has the superior gameplay, plus I think it's harder to complete it non-lethal, but that's just preferences now. MGS3 is hands down the best MGS game, no contest.

Upon watching all your videos and how much you praise the Metal Gear franchise and MGS3 especially, I couldn't help but be curious as to why it gets it. Metal Gear never interested me but curiosity and a more open mind have convinced me to give it a try. After playing MGS3 and at the time of this comment, recently completing it I now understand and agree with the praise it receives. A game that nearly brought me to tears at the end, that's a sign of a good game. It may not be my all time favorite game, but it's sitting comfortably in my top 3. I certainly won't be forgetting it anytime soon. And I have a little bunny man TH-camr to thank for that.

It was a real curveball to me when you started talking about Zelda, then suddenly swung around to make it about Binding of Isaac, then you did it AGAIN to make it about its sequel. Keep it up, man. MaskOfIce Zero is more open world even though the clever level design doesn't lose you anytime unless you really try to. It's a little bit short (only 2 big bosses before Mother Brain) but there is quite a lot to explore at any point in the game... Just to get you hyped, I avoided some spoilers here and there ;)

Happytreefriendsfan3 all right mate i said it wrong, or phrased it wrong, lets just say i agree with you when i think about it, yes from a pure gameplay point of view chaos theory is better.
And while mgs 3 might have atad bit wonky gameplay and that is regarding takedown imo , the other works pretty damn well. Is still damn satisfying to do a full non lethal, not seen playtrough , but so is chaos theory with 100 percent on every map on expert, still what i felt is more satisfyng might be mgs 3 due to that is harder to take takedown and is a little bit easier to be seen. Now yes i agre that as and outright stealth game splinter cell chaos theory might be better and might even due to it better regarding pure replay value.
And yeah i finished it four times and every mission is good, however the second part of soul is a bit irrating when the announce the tanks, but yeah both are very good.
But as a game i prefer mgs 3 due to it story, plot , characters / bosses perhaps even music.
Anyway yes if we talk about gameplay yes splinter chaos theory is better ,but i dont think mgs 3 on a full non lethal walktrough and not being seen is bad either even tough is a little bit wonky not much a bit.

Yeah, when it comes to the plot, music and other stuff that make up for the atmosphere of the game, MGS3 has that something that makes me love it more, but when it comes to the gameplay, while it is great and I had fun, plus it was fun to sneak around (I was especially surprised how much gameplay there actually was, MGS1 and MGS2 have nothing on MGS3 when it comes to the gameplay and the amount of areas in the game), Chaos Theory still has the superior gameplay, plus I think it's harder to complete it non-lethal, but that's just preferences now.
MGS3 is hands down the best MGS game, no contest.

Upon watching all your videos and how much you praise the Metal Gear franchise and MGS3 especially, I couldn't help but be curious as to why it gets it. Metal Gear never interested me but curiosity and a more open mind have convinced me to give it a try. After playing MGS3 and at the time of this comment, recently completing it I now understand and agree with the praise it receives. A game that nearly brought me to tears at the end, that's a sign of a good game. It may not be my all time favorite game, but it's sitting comfortably in my top 3. I certainly won't be forgetting it anytime soon. And I have a little bunny man TH-camr to thank for that.

MaskOfIce Zero is more open world even though the clever level design doesn't lose you anytime unless you really try to.
It's a little bit short (only 2 big bosses before Mother Brain) but there is quite a lot to explore at any point in the game... Just to get you hyped, I avoided some spoilers here and there ;)
