You can say that again I'm new to rat ownership and have to be honest with you and everyone else out there that is wondering if there right for them I would never have any other pet now that I have had my first pet rat . We have 2 fantastic little boy's just now and will be getting 2 more next month and I love them so much they're so cute and funny and I get something new from them every day I would recommend anyone get one well two at least Also if you have people over that you have had enough of and want to get rid of them without saying anything you only need to let your boys or girls out to free roam around and I promise you that they'll be gone faster than you can say bye to them lol
The second I saw the toilet paper rolls with banana chips on a stick I grabbed some rolls and banana chips to copy it! now my 8 little chaos queens are busy during night
@@finepim right! Ive given them in rolls too but it never really..worked or they didnt like it so im glad something like this worked well. I also tried the box with shredded paper and they went riiight on it and now theyre making a nest lol
My two boys used to go bonkers for sheets of kitchen roll. I used to put around 7 or so sheets on the floor in the middle of the living room. It was funny seeing them grab and try to run with them. I'd end up finding them ripped to shreds in their hiding places. did this once a week.
I had 2 white & cream rats, but not at the same time. D'Artangnon had an abcess and died. A pice of me did too. Then l got Ceasar, who is gone now. Both were several years ago. As much as l miss them & know l could love maybe 1 more time, l cannot go through the loss 1 more time. They sleep with you, hang out while you watch tv, sit and watch you do artwork...just like an itty bitty teeny dog!! And their loss feels exactly the same as losing a dog or cat, that l've done as well. They are THE MOST amazing little Animals to have, but absolutely horrible when they go. They are much maligned little creatures, yet they are gentle, sweet, very clean- constantly grooming, & super intelligent. These 3 tiny muskateers are some good proof. And what a good rat mummy this young lady is too!!👍🐀 🐾🌈🇨🇦☘️⚜️
Honestly I could watch your rats do anything and find it interesting. In fact I could watch them sleep, after fluffing their hammock with toilet paper, and be completely entertained! They are that cute. 🐀💜
My son had rats about 8yrs ago 4, I enjoyed watching them and handling them. They are such intelligent animals and so easy to keep they get a bad rep when you mention the word Rat peopmes reaction is Ewww nooo ! But honestly they are great and interesting!

My dad used to have a rat when he was a teenager and the rat was a basically 24/7 free roam rat he only slept in his cage! But he was sooo intelligent bc my dad would bring him to work and when they would be walking in the hall and the rat would see my dad's boss he would go under my dad's coat! 🤣🤣

Great ideas. I had been thinking of ways to keep my girls busy. Most of their free roam time is them running around the office while I work and lately they have been making hard for me to work! 😅
If you get a small boxcutter knife, you can use the top edge to poke a guiding hole in cardboard and paper stuffs to tie them up or put them on kabobs!
Sadly, my pet rat Onion passed away last week. She died because she had a breathing problem ( I think it's Resperacy) and we didn't give her medicine at the right time. But best luck for your rats, you seem like such a sweet and caring owner!
Im so sorry. My rat has pneumonia right now even after an antibiotic treatment and im really scared. I hate how easily sick they get. Im sure your little rattie had a really good life for as long as it lived ❤

So cute!!! I've always wanted rats and I've always understood their necessities and what not, but you're videos have helped me understand more in depth of what proper rat care looks like. I am a hugeee extra space enthusiast, so i always knew that when I was to get rats I was going to need a LOT of space. I am currently getting 2 double critter nation's so I can put them together and my future girls can have 2x the space. I'm getting them in mid August. Wish me luck!🤞

My rats have actually dug in their dog box exactly once, and I only know because when I went to visit them about an hour after giving it to them, they had dirt all over their hands and noses 💀
this was really helpful! the (I forgot what the thing was called) but the metal bar with the bell on the end where you got toilet paper roles and hid treats in them? I have on EXACTLY like that! and I didn't know what it was for! now I know. I hope my soon-to-get Ratties will like it. 🙂
New Rat owner here. Only had my two little guys for a day. Was just wondering if it's normal for them to be spending their time on the floor of the cage and not climbing too much?
I recently got 3 rats and I think that my quickly made toilet roll toys need to be replaced. One of my rats shreds any thing that she sees so most of the fabric and cardboard thay have are half still in one piece and half on my floor🙂

I do that with my hanster scatter feeding is great for rodents and lagimorph especially ♡

I live in Vietnam so I can't order any good cages online. We have one bird shop that sells high quality bird cages but they are almost 400 dollars!

I tried the foraging wheel with my rats. They just ripped the whole cover off! LOL. Not sure how they got it to unscrew. They are way too smart haha
