- I'm running out of witty one liners for these earlier qotsa songs... This one is about the desert. And drugs. Which I assume most qotsa songs are about, but this one is about them too!
Mexicola is the 7th track from of their 1998 self titled debut album.

Depends on my mood to be honest. If I feel like drinking tequila and being angry about it, it's this song. If I feel like drinking tequila and being sad about it, it's You Can't Quit Me Baby.

Haha, aw thanks! Honestly my only real goal with this is to try and have fun and inspire people to make music themselves, so that really means a lot to me!
I'm pretty much down to give advice anytime really... I'm honestly a little nervous putting that much into a patreon as I don't want to start giving myself a list of tasks/stresses I have to do to provide 'value,' other than putting videos up when I feel like it.
I've been toying around with the idea of doing some acoustic originals that I've had rolling around forever that never really got used/are still being recorded with my band and putting them on bandcamp, so that might be something to look for in the future!

Aw, thanks man! Don't sell yourself short... I have the advantage of many, many years of making an ass of myself singing much, much worse than this in front of people, plus singing lessons 🤣. The trick is to keep doing it anyway lol. You're always your own worst critic.
@@TrisonBoyesMusic what tuning did you play it in, C F Bb Eb G C? Also liked what you did by leaving the bar chords open, or so it looks to me.
@@regularstef yup, for this one I needed that open C so it's in C-Standard. Sometimes I cheat a little and throw a capo on the first fret for QotSA stuff if it only needs the open F.
I'm definitely a fan of using open strings on bar chords as long as everything jives. It's always a quest to get as much sonic energy out of the guitar as possible 😂

We're always way more aware of our mistakes because we see the difference between the intention of what we wanted and the execution of what we did.

@@tomiekk6255 Hmm... usually my routine is to try and figure out as much as I can by ear, and then if there's something I can't quite figure out I'll check some tabs to see what I'm missing.
I think for this one there was a couple of riffs that I wanted to transpose from the bassline that I wasn't quite getting and checked, and everything else was by ear. Going from electric to acoustic generally entails a bit of artistic liberty anyway haha.
