- I'm kind of embarrassed that I've been a big Alice in Chains and Pearl Jam fan for so long without really listening or knowing much about Mad Season. Working on changing that.
Mad Season was a grunge supergroup formed in the mid 90s by Pearl Jam's Mike McCready, Barret Martin from the Screaming Trees, Layne Staley from Alice in Chains and John Baker Saunders.
Wake Up is the opening track of Mad Season's only album 'Above', which was released in 1995. It was not released as a single.

@mattstephens6137 the term "takes balls" intends to mean the male testes, if you wanted to be more gender inclusive then maybe "takes gonads" would have been better?

There ain't really much higher praise than that man, thank you! There isn't anything else in this world like a Staley scream, but I can only hope to do it justice in my own way.

Brother I scream sing this song to myself once a week at least, if not every couple days. Fantastic job. One of the few songs that hits me like this is 13 Angels by Corrosion of Conformity. If you havent done it id like to see a cover of that from you.

Hmm... That one wasn't really on my list tbh. I did do a cover of 'River of Deceit' from Above from Above but wasn't particularly inspired to keep going through the album. I'll throw it on the pile of song suggestions though!

I like this even better than the U2 cover. I hope there is more grunge to come, although I wouldn't mind more 80's U2 as well.
