This game introduction gave you a team, made you feel safe around them, but slowly reality kicks in and you're force to witness their deaths. Then you have to walk alone and experience the nightmare. A remastered for this game should be a priority.

I LOVED that in the multiplayer of this game you had some different/cool soldier character models to pick from, but in today's gaming industry, all multiplayer character appearance options are locked behind microtransactions. area51 was from the golden age of gaming before the cancer of microtransactions/etc ruined the industry.
Not necessarily all of them. There are quite a few games where you can just earn new character models through gameplay. But then again, you have to keep in mind that back then, development costs were most likely at least 10 times as small as what they are nowadays, and inflation hadn't shrunk developers' earnings so much. In 2005, it was still possible to cover a game's costs just through direct game sales, which would mean bankruptcy for most multiplayer games nowadays.
I feel some older games are just better than a game we have now I wish they'd kept making this game same with the Xbox original they discontinue those two a while ago
This game was so stimulating to my imagination when I was a kid. To this day I have recurring dreams about discovering a new level or secret location deep inside area 51 lol. I legitimately have a dream about this game once every 2-3 months.
My favorite part was when I finally got that special Alien gun that shot three-round bursts of adhesive exploding energy balls. The best thing was that the ammo automatically regenerated over time.
It's so much different now a member of it when I was a kid and play this game this was high quality for me but now it's just a bit old but I still love the game and gameplay nothing will take that away from me

I liked how they introduced aliens. They seemed curious to a fault. Just staring at you. Then others were performing an autopsy on a living specimen. Looking at you and then back at their work. When you went through their ship, it wasn''t clear if you were their enemy. They seemed uncaring about your presence and only their automated defenses fought against you.

Oh the memories... This game helped me a great deal to overcome my fear of extraterrestrials. I was so terrified of them to a point where I couldn't stare the night sky out of fear to find a UFO. Nevertheless, and as I was scared shitless I played the whole game... and I loved it.

Just finished the game on PC after last playing it on PS2 15-16 years ago. The version I downloaded had fixed FOV with patches but had some lag in some places and the game would crash if tried setting it on high performance, it was still a blast though. Great game with awesome old school atmosphere.

I remember when i played the demo on some mortal kombat game for ps2 when i was like 13. Fast forward to being 23 and i found the actual game at a swapmeet for 10$. Amazing game. Still have it for the original xbox.

Just finished the game on PC after last playing it on PS2 15-16 years ago. The version I downloaded had fixed FOV with patches but had some lag in some places and the game would crash if tried setting it on high performance, it was still a blast though. Great game with awesome old school atmosphere.
