    Came here from your link at iboats. Great short cut mate. Am looking at a cheap alternative for a little 4m. I really like this! Cutting electrical conduit in half is also an idea but this looks carries more character. Thanks a lot!

    Looking for an good alternative and all the rope vids were not appearing to match the look of my boat. But the black rope you used looks pretty darn clean, I dig it! Thanks for the video, this will save me a small fortune !

    How did this hold up over the years?
    I think i would coat the rope in some titebond3 just to help prevent salt and grit getting in over the years.

    I have the same boat. My old rub rail is pretty torn up and shrunk. Good idea.

    I don't know about using the wire ties. I think the silicone should hold. If you doing wires I would put one at every screw and that would take a very long time.

    Can you please tell me how you got the ridged rub rail insert out of the aluminum piece? Mine is so old it's hard as a rock so there's no way I can pull it out. I'm restoring my Edinboro too.

    what size rope is that i need half inch, and home depot only has 5/8 is this what size you are using
