Whoever told him $300 tt to travel anywhere in Tobago by taxi is a liar and theif. That’s why you ask locals the taxi price cuz it got some greedy ppl out here.
That's the price they will charge for the distance if you hire the entire taxi to take you. It's standard. However if you share the taxi with other passengers then it's wey cheaper.
That's how much if he hire the car.
That's why he waited for the mini bus 🚌 . The taxi is always going to be more expensive and he wanted to go the local way . Way to go Coco boy ......

I'm a Tobagonian. Never heard we have a Rasta Village. Here all of us are one. No Rasta Village here. We all are one people in Tobago. Hmmm. Dont try to divide us. Stop that. Apologize and stop this nonsense. Respect Tobago and Tobagonians.
I'm always amazed when I see videos from t&t how clean and presentable their food vendors look. You see the vendors in their white aprons and some wear gloves and the cooking area doesn't look unhygienic. I'm very picky.

Also, the food vendors have to have an official food badge to sell food on the street or even a restaurant. That said, the food in Trinidad and Tobago is very delicious.
That's a great observation. Food vending is regulated by Public Health Inspectors. All food vendors have to attend a lecture about good & bad food practices before getting a food badge, and they must submit a medical before applying for a food badge. You can be locked up or fined by the Police or Health Inspector for selling food without a food badge. A food vendor is suppose to show their food badge at all times.
Yep they're heavily monitored and regulated by health authorities, that's why people hardy get sick from eating on the streets here..

There are four modern ferries that transport people vehicle and goods between TnT. They take 2 1/2 to 3 hrs between both islands so you can drive on and drive off and the cost is cheap.

People from Guyana/Trinidad that are of Indian decent (I find most of them to be so rude and unwelcoming). My parents are from Guyana (West Indian) and I went to Guyana twice (didn’t enjoy it at all only the food was delicious). My dad’s family’s house we were staying at didn’t even give a warm welcome. Trinidad/Guyana are both similar cultures. I have never been close to any people of the culture because I find them to just not be the type of people I would want to talk to. I was born in the USA and have an American name. I wish my parents were from India instead of Guyana because I don’t like Guyanese or Trinidadian people at all but the food is so good lol. Domestic violence is a common thing in these cultures and domestic violence happened in my family.
There are many good and bad experiences to be had. You seem unlucky. Perhaps Trinidad being more industrial has depended on tourism and so we dont have the very best hospitaliy on average. Most of us live busy lives hustling to and from work. During which we wont be interested in serving your every wishes. You are on vacation and time for recreation we do not. But observe how we are on friday night and on weekends when we are out clubbing or bar hopping. We are more friendly then. Generally we are respectful. But thats it. Anything more you will have to pay for services rendered. But some trinis do go out of their way to assist you if you are in distress. Other than that fend for yourself. You are an adult so have some commomsense about the way of life. Dont expect people to wipe your ass because you are a tourist.
