    Orly, I’m so glad you talked about lining up the plaid, I hate when I see pants or frankly any clothing in the stores where the plaid or stripes aren’t lined up.

    Love velvet! Yes, buy extra. The fabric has a “direct” that is called the nap. Commercial patterns used the term for directional fabrics like velvet, corduroy, velour, etc.

    Pro tip. You can also use elastic sewing thread. It’s a thing!

    I’ve always been a fan of bell bottoms. Wish they were still as fashionable as they used to be.

      we can make them fashionable because we like them. I saw this girl with an extra, extra wide bell bottoms and that's before they came back. I was so stoked, impressed and elliated because she was being herself.

    Yes it is called the nap...a commercial pattern has cutting directions when using a fabric with a nap!

    Maybe i have a stupid question, but why not cut the bottom wider and then sew it? Instead of a panel extra in front. But loveeeee this. My fave pants.

  • @pardetasturdivant3662
    @pardetasturdivant3662 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Next pair you make put the triangle insert on the side of leg. The seam is already open to sew. No need to cut up the back leg.
