Orly, I’m so glad you talked about lining up the plaid, I hate when I see pants or frankly any clothing in the stores where the plaid or stripes aren’t lined up.
Love velvet! Yes, buy extra. The fabric has a “direct” that is called the nap. Commercial patterns used the term for directional fabrics like velvet, corduroy, velour, etc.
we can make them fashionable because we like them. I saw this girl with an extra, extra wide bell bottoms and that's before they came back. I was so stoked, impressed and elliated because she was being herself.
Those pants are gorgeous! But I couldn't take my eyes off your bracelet!!!! Amazing!!!! It's just like the macrame bag strap! You're a genius Orly! Love you and your diys!❤😘
Wannabe sewer here but watch a lot of these types of videos (yes I am subscribed). I finally understand how to sew pants! It just clicked for me in this video. Thank you Orly! :)
Orly, those pants are gorgeous on you. I agree about lining up the plaids. It just give the pants that expensive look. My daughter love her hoodie. She said that it is all that and more. #1fan ❤️
Thank you for mentioning matching the plaids. There is nothing more cheap looking than mismatched plaids. When I see things where the right and left sides aren't matched up it makes me eyeballs twitch!
Love this. Wondering about needing to add a seam allowance though? If the pattern is only the size of existing pants and then a seam is sown, wouldn't they end up a smaller size? Bit of a noob question but please help me out?
Those are bringing back some serious ‘70’s vibes. Yours are much cuter. ALSO, what is the silver bracelet you are wearing? I can’t quite make out the ‘material’. Can you diy that?❤️❤️
I own three pairs of purple velvet pants, from the l970's (aaproximately). When I wanted to look dressy, I'd wear them with a satin or metallic or sparkly top, and too much jewelry.
Beautiful. Also, if you don't need elastic in the waist - just cut the pants with extra material at the top of the waist, fold over and zigzag stitch down
Regarding your merch, I purchased the hoodie, T, and cup. It all came so fast, last Friday. I love them all, such high quality. My favorite is the hoodie, so very soft!
SO stinkin cute!! I made something similar a few years ago, but in a shimmery metallic purple for a Mardi Gras trip and LOVED them. I like way the panels look added in on these, will have to remember that trick for more flare!
I am so glad you made this video. This is my style in every single way! I ❤ Flare pants as I have large feet and it helps hide them. I am also a boho girl thru & thru so I love the style and VELVET!! It's so perfect, and they look sooo good! I am for sure gonna make these!
Orly! These are totally in my wheelhouse, growing up in the 70s. Plus, I think Bell Bottoms are flattering on jus abt every body type. Am excited to give these a try once I find some suitable fun fabric! A plaid would be awesome! ❤️ Blessings from Iowa, L
Love these🤗🤗🤗 The plaid pair……..I agree……the lines need to be matched! Love the silver bracelet……it looks like one of the hoodie strings……did you make it…….please share how🥰
I love these, especially the plaid! Just curious why you didn't cut the pattern pieces bigger at the bottom instead of adding in an extra section of fabric later?
Hey, Orly~ Could you do a style hack for Kameleon Rose Travel pants and Travel Dress? They are unfortunately out of business, but would love to be able to make a version of those garments if possible. You're so good at figuring that stuff out!
The pants are soo gorgeous but I really loved the way u gave "I'm the DIY Queen" vibes with the Diy bracelet using those sparkling cords!! Loads of love❤️
😍🤩😍They look sooo Luxurious!! I love them! You did so awesome matching the lines of the patter. Seems like I always get off a little. Love you ❤❤❤💐👑 Ps. love your diy bracelet your wearing😊
These are super cool! Just wondering…Why cut and add the gusset/pizza slice vs just cutting the original shape with a wider bell? Does it make the shape drape differently?
Why not just sew the triangle panel into the side seam? Or adjust your pattern so that the legs ar cut with a bellbottom, and you don't have to add an extra panel?
Those pants look amazing on you! I received both my notebook and hat! I kinda don't want to use my notebook yet! It feels so special and I want to use it for something that feels worthy :)
Pro tip. You can also use elastic sewing thread. It’s a thing!
I’ve always been a fan of bell bottoms. Wish they were still as fashionable as they used to be.
we can make them fashionable because we like them. I saw this girl with an extra, extra wide bell bottoms and that's before they came back. I was so stoked, impressed and elliated because she was being herself.
they're back!
Those pants....yes!!!....but, THAT BRACELET.....double yes!!!
Another project to add to the list to do but will before the colder weather begins.
Those remind me of my jazz dance pants from high school (which I loved).
Yes it is called the nap...a commercial pattern has cutting directions when using a fabric with a nap!
Maybe i have a stupid question, but why not cut the bottom wider and then sew it? Instead of a panel extra in front. But loveeeee this. My fave pants.
Next pair you make put the triangle insert on the side of leg. The seam is already open to sew. No need to cut up the back leg.
Happy Friday!!
Girl, you can rock anything ❤️ love that yellow with the plaid. And of course the rocker vibe with the red❤️
Said the same thing about the yellow and plaid
Those pants are gorgeous! But I couldn't take my eyes off your bracelet!!!! Amazing!!!! It's just like the macrame bag strap! You're a genius Orly! Love you and your diys!❤😘
Thank you so much!!
Can you tell us more about that?
Wannabe sewer here but watch a lot of these types of videos (yes I am subscribed). I finally understand how to sew pants! It just clicked for me in this video. Thank you Orly! :)
The 70's are back! With more stylish 😁😁😁
Stretch flares are my favorite trend right now. I'm literally wearing a pair while I type this. So excited for this.

Orly, those pants are gorgeous on you. I agree about lining up the plaids. It just give the pants that expensive look. My daughter love her hoodie. She said that it is all that and more. #1fan ❤️

Love this. Wondering about needing to add a seam allowance though? If the pattern is only the size of existing pants and then a seam is sown, wouldn't they end up a smaller size? Bit of a noob question but please help me out?
I’ve been waiting for FRIDAY!! YAY!!!
I love the brick red pair! So cute and fun.
i love the crystal bag strap / bracelet !
These are the most perfect pair of pants on you.
I saw you wearing blue pants with a red cropped hoodie on your instagram story, just wondering if you made more bell bottom pants😁😁
Those are bringing back some serious ‘70’s vibes. Yours are much cuter. ALSO, what is the silver bracelet you are wearing? I can’t quite make out the ‘material’. Can you diy that?❤️❤️
Gorgeous!!!
The pants look good too! 😜
Too stinking cute!! I want to make these so bad!!
I own three pairs of purple velvet pants, from the l970's (aaproximately). When I wanted to look dressy, I'd wear them with a satin or metallic or sparkly top, and too much jewelry.
I love your sewing and styling DIY videos. The home stuff is cute too but these are my favorite.
These were my jam in the 6th grade.
haha you and me both
Beautiful. Also, if you don't need elastic in the waist - just cut the pants with extra material at the top of the waist, fold over and zigzag stitch down

yessssssss thats what i was literally waiting for!!! 🔥😍
SUPER !
Yes!!!! Best day of the week! ❤️
Back in the old days we called velvet fabric as having a “nap”.
it's still called nap in current days. I think she just didn't know the right word.
@@lestranged she did mention the word 'nap' in one of her older videos, which I watched just yesterday. :)
Not totally sold on the huge bell-bottoms, but I want (NEED) those plaid pants!
Orly! These are totally in my wheelhouse, growing up in the 70s. Plus, I think Bell Bottoms are flattering on jus abt every body type. Am excited to give these a try once I find some suitable fun fabric! A plaid would be awesome! ❤️

The plaid pair……..I agree……the lines need to be matched!
Love the silver bracelet……it looks like one of the hoodie strings……did you make it…….please share how🥰
I alway use one of my pants to make new comfy pants. Just make sure you use stretch pant to make stretch pants and non stretch for non stretch.
These are beautiful!!!!!
Yep 💖💖💖
Super fashion, j'adore. Merci de ta bonne humeur.
I love these, especially the plaid! Just curious why you didn't cut the pattern pieces bigger at the bottom instead of adding in an extra section of fabric later?
Yes I wondered the same thing. I hope she answers this
I believe it is so it can be removed, worn 2 ways potentially
It may flare incorrectly after sewing but I’m not sure
How did you make the bracelet?? (Same as shoulder straps u made) any chance u show us how you made that one as well? Pleaseeeeeee? 🙏
The red ones will be amazing for Christmas!!! You’re so talented

Wow, awesome DIY!!
Going to maked for the weekend bq
Fantastic job on the plaid!
So beautifully explained 💞🤗👍
Why not just sew the triangle panel into the side seam? Or adjust your pattern so that the legs ar cut with a bellbottom, and you don't have to add an extra panel?
I am curious about that too
Thank you Orly! Waiting literally for this tutorial on velvet flares.
Those pants look amazing on you! I received both my notebook and hat! I kinda don't want to use my notebook yet! It feels so special and I want to use it for something that feels worthy :)
