Rockfishing in Kodiak Alaska!

- Hi, everyone! In this episode, we start our 2023 rockfish season. We're excited to be back out on the water jigging again. Jigging is a system of hook-and-line fishing. Using downriggers similar to bandit reels, we lower 15-hook leaders down into the water. And then using a 12v motor we crank them back up to the surface. After we haul the catch aboard we take care to handle each fish one by one, bleeding and icing our catch for maximum quality.
We offer all of the fish we catch on our channel directly to the consumers. We handle all of our catches with care to maintain the utmost quality of Alaska seafood. You can visit our website here to check out our selection of excellent wild-caught seafood.

Actually, I've been watching you all for over a year once I found you! I have been rewatching them all.
I have no family left so it is enjoyable to watch these fine people work together. Matt is the true epitome of all things fishing. He dreams about washing the boat down I'm sure. Always a pleasure take care all.
Hi Guys... I've been rewatching your videos for the last while (3 weeks actually!) and I wanted to say that I am blown away by your work TOGETHER as a family. I just finished my 5th view of the "Good, Bad, and the Ugly" salmon seining video. My heart is so blessed by watching you all working as a well-balanced and well-structured team. It is so amazing to watch. I live on the far East Coast of Canada in a fishing area. I've never gone out but more than a few trips with my son lobstering... Ya, it is the Lobster Capital of Canada down here! LOL It must be a joy having the whole family on board during such an intensive season. Anita... Bless your heart girl, you can do it all!!!!! It takes a lot of love and understanding and as I watch Dad with a heart of gold (from what is projected in the videos) and Matt echoing his affirmations, you all have much to teach many out there who muscle and coerce their way through the process! So I'm from far northern Minnesota and I need something besides walleye and pike, not to mention ice fishing is going to be over in about 1 week. I have had halibut before and found it great, have never tasted rock fish. I called up sister and said I was thinking of ordering a share box of rock fish and halibut it took her about 2 milliseconds to say "Do it!". I can't find any ocean fish in the grocery store up here that I can trust, most of it when I look at the country of origan says CHINA. Arggg. That sucks, "Wild Caught", whatever I won't even consider that. Now I can watch you guys fishing and think "that one is mine, maybe that one." God bless you for what you do.

Is that a Radon sidetied at 00:25? Ya know, the larger boat dere is a direct descendant of west coast Salmon trawler, which I believe evolved from sardine purse seiner (small scale).

Aw! I get it. you have two stations on the port side and two on the stern, correct? Sector 1 consist of two stations and Sector 2 consists of two stations. We have a fish in southern California called a Sculpin or Scorpion fish that has slime on the spines that will make the spot they stick you swell up and burn really bad.
Rock Fish are they members of the Bass Family ? . Nice Haul.👍👍☘☘
