  • In this episode we will fix one of the typical faults of big suzuki V-twin engines.
    This occurs most often with SV1000 DL-1000 V-strom and TL1000 engines.
    According to the manufacturer's instructions, the part must be replaced in case of such failure, but this is a proven method of repair.
    Used materials:
    J-B Weld Steel Cold Weld 8265S

    J-B Weld High Heat 8297

    Flywheel puller:

    (or use an m20x1.5 screw like I did in the video)

    После холодной сварки, нужно ротор балансировать на динамическом стенде от биения, такой ротор будет как кирпич в стиральной машине при оборотах свыше 5 тыс

    You don't need to remove flywheel to do the job. I used JB Weld Steel Stick (easy work) and Loctite. :)

      You're right, but I like to work at a table, and that way I'm sure nothing gets inside the engine.

    Thanks for your video. Why do you use two different JW-weld instead use only the cold weld?

    Great video. What is the spray that you used to remove the old glue from the magnets? I watched a couple of other videos showing them baking it but your method seems far easier.

      Simple brake cleaner that I used to remove grease and other dirt. Unfortunately, the glue disappears on its own.

    Hello, thanks for your instructions. You used an impact wrench to loosen the screw without the special rotor tool from Suzuki. Did you insert 2nd gear or did you lock the rotor in another way?

    • @garageb.4222
      @garageb.4222  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      With a strong impact wrench you dont need to lock the crankshaft .

      I did a little research and this is what most people use. It's been working for me for 1.5 years, so I think it's durable. :)

    Hello I'm waiting for the glue and I'm going to do like you, does plugging the holes in the bell not interfere with the evacuation of the oil? Or does not interfere with the magnetism? Thx

      Hello! I also had this question, but I spoke to several people who repaired it in the same way, and everyone has been using the engine repaired in this way for several years, including me.(Me for almost two years and 10,000 Km)

      I’m going to use JB weld, the old type that takes 24 plus hours and will wait at least 48 hours

    I noticed the clutch is hydraulic... I'm not a big fan of hydraulic clutches... they're a LOT harder to feather. If you ride like a cop (and I have police motor training) you end up burning out clutches a lot faster. So while I could convert my old Kawi police bike to hydraulic, I don't.

      The magnets didn't fall off, they just moved, no new magnets were needed!

    Where can we find a replacement for magnet?

    • @garageb.4222
      @garageb.4222  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can only buy a complete flywheel, if the magnet is damaged you can get it from a bad flywheel.

      @@garageb.4222 yeah I ended up doing that tried to replace it now bike won't even start. thinking its something to do with the timing marks on all the gears and bike being too dead center do I need a service manual for that or should I just put her in the shop?
