Loved this game but still prefer the original Road & TRack need for Speed that I played on DOS, PS1 & Sega Saturn. Still prefer Porsche unleashed to those?

Kern since I still play both games on my pc a little, I can tell you NFS5 is better for sure.
The most classical NFS in the entire franchise. its so calm and relaxing yet fun and enjoyable. driving Porsche in this grand touring roads was just spectacular. God I miss NFS so much.

Makes me miss my childhood. early '00s was the golden era of EA with NFS 5, The Sims 1 and SimCity 3000.
I love this track the most . It does a Christmas feeling . Go to the frozen lake and touch the rocks on the other side slowly . There is a point in the center where you can jump into the sky !
This game and track oozes with soul. Despite all the technological advances, new games don't come even close to that feeling.
I always loved this game for its spectacular tracks, especially the unlocked ones. Not sure if I can say this was my fave, but I loved racing in the Alps because of the gradual change in weather.
This game still looks beautiful in 2018!

I used to like to drive without music in the nfs 5. The environment sounds are outstanding in this game. But i liked to listen to the superb soundtracks in menu too. This game had a soul like old cars. Im afraid nothing will ever compare. Maybe i’m just getting old.

the best nfs ever, with modes like cross era campaign, advanced driving school and market place for used porsches.. so much memories and this is the game that makes me determined to own a Porsche in the near future :)

great game, i played all the career again recently on my notebook displayed on a 50" plasma (mandatory patches and stuff or else it looked like shit) 1080p, maxing out card and game setting. The most immersive racing game i ever played, best NFS ever imo. i miss it so much, i want a sequel!

modern PC have corrupted scene in NFS:PE, happy this video shows real picture without bug. As far as i remember your CPU needs to be below 2000 Mhz or you will get shit textures. Also there is a hole in the lake where you can get out from map :)

Yes, it was never released. The card I have is a prototype. Model 3700 Rev.A. Bought it about 10 years ago from someone on a German forum. It was a lucky coincidence :-)

PU has a damage model, you even have to pay to fix the car in Evoultion mode after each race
I hope the next NFS isn't another bullshit story line about someone wanting revenge over something that isn't a big deal (a HEM… NFS Payback…). The next one should be a Porsche Unleashed 2 or at least a remastered version of this one (all with the same exact songs, no remixes).
i think only the V5 6000 can handle 4xFSAA without lagging the games. I have a V5 5500 AGP here and Quake 2 is lagging even with 2xFSAA (quick specs: P4 2.8Ghz 512kb S478, 512mb DDR, Win98SE, AGP 4x/2x slot, Diamond Monster Sound MX300...) Or maybe it depend how each game handle the card and FSAA?

There are games that V5 5500 AGP can play with 4xFSAA fine. For example FIFA 98, NHL 98, Autobahn Raser.

For a V5 6000 you will pay as far as I know something between 2000€ and 3000€. But first you have to find a seller.

Adriano Raffoul If it doesn't work in compatibility mode under XP, you could try to install Virtual Box, run Windows 98 in it and install the game inside the virtual machine.

+CineRaphael Not enough bandwith to record a 1600x1200 lossless video.
***** so 3dfx does support 1600x1200 but not a capture card that support.
My capture card does support resolutions up to 1920x1200@60fps. But when I record lossless with this resolution, I get a videobitrate which is to high for recording on a regular harddisk without framedrops.
Have you tried using a SSD instead of a slow HDD? I think it could be possible, but I have to give it to that unreleased V5 6000, for its age, it has graphics muscle. You'd best hold onto that gem because it's going to be worth potentially hundreds of thousand to millions if you hold it for another half century.

Auf meinem alten PC was das Game wunderschön. Es sah aus wie in diesem Video. Jetzt habe ich einen gaming PC für Spiele wie GTA V maxxed zu spielen, und die Grafik in NFS Porsche sieht schreklich aus. Der Tank, die Lufteinlässe, Spoiler der Wagen etc sind total verpixelt.
Schade eigentlich, ironisch ebenfalls. Die Hard- und Software sind warscheinlich nicht mehr kompatibel.
Downloade das Programm Nglide und einen NFS Porsche Patch auf Version 3.5 ist die neueste. dann könnte es besser aussehen und Widescreen fix kann nie schaden.

@@LuisRamos-hk2in Yeah, but the guy was refering to the "traction control" feature on modern Porsches. Cars like the Boxster had options like ABS and traction control ; that's why you don't see him sliding on the snow. :)
