My first NFS games I've ever played in PS1. This brings so much nostalgia
Chisato Nishikigi's main favourite car in NFS PORSCHE UNLEASHED is 911 GT1.
Este fue el primero que jugué,ese mismo día fui y me compré el Gran turismo 1 y 2 y volé
Regardless of which version is the best, this game for the PS1 is excellent, with plenty of content, great graphics for the console, and great gameplay! One of the best racing games for the platform!
Its strange to see how different the pc and the ps1 versions are. Two complete different games...
same with need for speed high stakes, its two completely different games
Maybe because the entire PC game couldnt fit in the PS1 hardware, and it really impacted the gameplay and content for the worse.
@@sebastianaliandkulche Yeah except they REMOVED things from the PC version. I played the hell out of the PC version back in the day, and running the PS1 version emulated, it's rather shocking to see that there was a free drive mode in the PS1 version and not PC, and the menus were more detailed - they changed visual theme based on what era you're racing in.
And that's leaving aside the fact that somehow on the PC version they got the vertical scaling wrong on car models - all the cars look weirdly round compared to the PS1, where the signature flat-wide-curvy look of the Porsche is maintained.
@@NicholasBrakespear Ok, you probably are one of those who things that the PC version of both NFS3 and NFS4 are overrated, but let me tell you, i respond many of comments like this... The PS1 version is also missing a lot of features both NFS3 and 4, especially 3. While 4 is more understandable since it includes exclusive content, not all of the exclusive content is good, but let me explain...
The test drive mode was basically a 1 lap single race without opponents and traffic is included, basically a waste. It doesnt even save your best lap time. Nothing to get too excited and is the only way to play a single race with stock cars, while for some reason the single race mode you use the cars of the tournament. I dont know why you cannot choose both cars in both modes, thats bad design.
Agree with the menus, one of the few things i prefer in the PS1 version. Is not like PC version menu was very bad, you know, is adapted to be a PC game, but yeah, PS1 is much more beautiful to navigate.
While the models are very different between versions, i think they do different models because the damage system in both games is very different, being much more complex in the PC version. The Porsche for me still looks like a Porsche lol.
@@sebastianaliandkulche "Ok, you probably are one of those who things that the PC version of both NFS3 and NFS4 are overrated, but let me tell you, i respond many of comments like this..."
Unnecessarily, I think. NFS4 and NFS Porsche on PC remain my favourite racing games of all time.
It just perplexes me that they'd take the time to design content for the console release that easily could have made it onto the PC release... and actively made the decision not to port it, despite the games sharing the name and many of their assets.
Speaking as someone who poured many hours into NFS: Porsche and loved every minute however...
...the models and texturing used in the PS1 version are superior, even if the rendering was inferior. The PC release might have had more advanced physics, but all that served to do was make already rather ugly models look uglier as they took damage.
NFS Porsche may have had some new graphical features... but in terms of art direction and colour palette, it was a bit washed out and bland on PC - comparing the two games now, with modern eyes, NFS4 actually aged better due to its more colourful visuals.
This game looks like an HD remaster of a PS2 game emulated like this. Good Job!
ePSXe, there are many settings
of course not. It's less aliased than a PS2 game but it's inferior in all other possible areas. Polycount, textures, lighting.
Those weird but cool main menus were like a mini game on their own, at least if you didn't understand the languages available or couldn't read in the first place
The music, the pictures, and the cutscenes in between menus were the coolest stuff to me as a three year old, and I thank Rom Di Prisco together with Saki Kaskis for making absolute magic with the soundtrack on this, as well as other NFS titles of this era
R.I.P. Saki Kaskis/Captain Ginger, and thanks for introducing my undeveloped brain to instrumental, down tempo goodness
And thanks as well XTG, for always bringing quality emulation footage and satisfying driving, in games I mainly used to crash in lol
The PC version probably is even cooler - the main menu circles the car you want to display or choose... and you can interact with stuff like door or convertible.
@@meyers0781 i played the PC version when i was about 13, downloaded a CD-rip on my grandmas (R.I.P.) laptop and the PC version was objectively a way better game
The menus were cool and way more intuitive, overall game design was more polished, and the physics were so good that they still hold up well to this day - I would have been blown away by the graphics as well if I had it back when it was released
The PS1 version will always have my heart though, and I still think it is more aesthetically coherent than the PC version, albeit with some wonky physics and overall lack of polish
TL;DR Nostalgia and design passion makes me prefer the PS1 version, but gameplay wise the PC version is no doubt the better game
@@meyers0781 agree. Crashing is cool actually, Meyers07.
@@timm.e.n. 850T5, shame that 93 percent of those cars in NFS PORSCHE UNLEASHED not appeared in Gran Turismo 7.
@@purwantiallan5089 Gran Turismo is just ewwwwww since 7
They focused more on modern cars instead of historical cars
At least Forza series still has lots like 700+ cars and only few of them are duplicate variants.
NFS car list are still fewer in comparison, like since Underground onwards, but they focus more on customization than car collection.
This game has an amazing intro that you don't want to skip😊 And with the game itself has a lot of warm memories...
"You've beaten the lap record for this track!"
"It's the final lap!"
"Congratulations, you won the race!"
All this nostalgia, oof.
I've played this countless hours, great game...
me and my dad trying to unlock the GT2 & GT1 were some damn good memories man
I've been playing it for a whole summer ... fantastic
bro you made me cry, remembered the times that i play this game on my ps1
Me hiciste recordar una parte muy olvidada de mi infancia con este juego!!👍👍👏👏👏
As a huge fan of NSF Porsche, I do see quite a bit things we haven't had on PC version, literally completely different set of maps on PS1(I never played PS1 version). But I also notice the gameplay is more arcade-ish on PS1 compared to PC version. Miss the good old times we used to race 911 GT1 and 935 "Moby Dick“ on Autobhan over 2 decades ago.
this the reason why i was fascinated with porsche and race cars. This brings back memories.
12:25: This error in the lack of synchronization of the sound at RPM's limit is also present in one of Sébastien Loeb's Rally Evo cars: The Audi Sport Quattro Pike's Peak, since its normal rally counterpart is synchronized at RPM's limit. On the other hand, in the counterpart Pike's Peak, from 7000RPM's it does not increase in RPM's as it would happen in Gran Turismo Sport and 7 because, although I reach the limit RPM's, it does increase in RPM's in those two games mentioned above.
My advice would be to play with the gearbox in manual mode and when you see that acoustically it does not rise in RPM's, you change gear instantly. Unless you can't change gear because it's an arcade game and not having a cabin camera you couldn't do anything. But my advice, honestly, is that: change gear at the moment that the RPM's do not rise acoustically speaking.
I recently switched to duckstation and noticed way less input lag and better performance for the most part overall.
Yeah me too. Duckstation is not so accuracy focused but is better with performance than Beetle PSX. I prefer it. I'm pumping my games full of enhancements anyway so I don't care too much about accuracy.
Love Duckstation
@@Katana2097 It's not accuracy focused only in name - in practice it's *really* accurate, to the extent where it can boot some obscure games Mednafen/Beetle fails at.
NFS Porsche is actually also a good example - the game is a poor NTSC conversion and it runs too fast in Beetle, but runs "correctly slow" (at around 25FPS) in Duckstation. It's easy to spot when you see how fast the timer ticks even on this video.
In Duck's case "not accuracy focused" = "not sacrificing performance to emulate something no commercial game uses", for example memory exceptions.
@@CookiePLMonster Ah awesome! I didn't know that. That's pretty cool.
@@WrestlingFace DuckstationKIN for the WIN!.
Just for the quality of content, best than most AAA titles today.
I was about to say "damn the sense of speed in this game is crazy" but then looked at the timers and realized the game is in fast forward for some reason
I love the music in this game so much!!! This is summer 2000 for me, I had a multitap for 4 players
This makes my soul warm
Man.......This game and GT3 got me addicted into racing games and Playstation that lasts until this day
This game has the best music, especially in the evolution mode. I'm among the minority who prefer this to the PC version.
The bad part is the repetitive songs order in all races and the PC version have more funky and better trancd songs compared to PS1.
2:50 - That hit me right in the feels, nostalgia kicked in right there!
I haved this one and it's incredible! Greetings
I used to play the PC version! Loved this game.
Thanks to this game, and the fact at that time EA had made exclusive license with Porsche
Now I know an underrated company called RUF
Моя любимая игра юности. Играл в неё ночи напролёт. Эх! Настольгия.
Race 4. 911 car model is amazing on ps1!
Eu joguei esse jogo no play 2 gostei muito do estilo perseguição fiquei fascinado e viciado no jogo que gostaria de jogar mais e mais toda vez
The last and best NFS game i've played on PS1, it has decent graphics even without emulator improvements, gameplay is good too.
Because its the last PS1 NFS released to PS2.
Damnd you aare gooooodddd racer
Melhores gameplays são os bem jogados, quando é muito bem jogado como os seus, fica muito bom!
Esos si son juegos que tiempos
This game was insane. I liked the career mode
PS1 version is the best. No stiff driving, no confusing menus, pursuit and split screen return, and no annoying oversteering. Is just straight fun.
PS1 version is the worst. In terms of driving- handling like a boat or airplane, invisible walls. I've played many hours at PS as a kid, it was fun back then. But when I discovered that PC version shares High Stakes driving model everything changed. It's just V-rally with NFS skin. Sorry.
Sadly because except that, everything is nicely done. Menus, music, cutscenes and even police in "freeride" mode during career. Carrer with all this "era" thing, different music for eras, some cars available to buy only as used, even GAINIG value for older cars when you advance to next era, just like real life. So much effort was put intho this game. And (for me, sorry) it was ruined by non suitable driving mode :(
After all this years I think the best word to describe it is "cartoonish"
@@SuperMatiz I prefer the driving in the PS1 version, since in the PC version is much more stiff and it has a lot of oversteer. I agree with the invisible walls though, they are really annoying.
Being "cartoony" racing isnt a bad thing, and even less when the peak of the series was made with games dont being realistic at all. Realism in videogames should be only take into account if the gameplay isnt artificialy end being worse, with AI that doesnt reflect this realistic behavior that you have to suffer. In other words, make things like accelerate without braking or dont oversteer in any time. You have that kind of disavantages because the game wanted to be realistic, but since is for the sake of realism, the AI doesnt adapt to the realistic disavantages. Thats why i hate realistic games, along with the fact that they would never be 100% realistic.
@@sebastianaliandkulche well you are mostly driving old porsches on old tires. There is a lot of oversteer and it is easily managable and well distinct from 944 to 911 etc... car list on ps1 and some tracks are better, but overall it feels like a reskin
@@blackjacket_ I can somewhat agree with that, since is something that is noticed more in the old Porsches, and even more if you dont upgrade it, but even NFSPU at best, the handling just i didnt feel it so comfortable compared to NFS3 and 4, imo. Not saying than the handling is good at all in the PS1 version, since it tends to be very slippery, not helped by the collision detection or the fact than a slighty hit, makes the car unable to accelerate for a while, but i find it more playable overall.
It could also said the same for the PC version, since they count the different kind of Porsche (coupe and convertible) as different cars when in NFS4 it was an option on the main menu that you can change.
@@SuperMatiz I agree to you, the PS version its the most painful and horrible experience that a had of the all PS1 NFS games.
21:54 🎵 I believe I can fly, I believe I can touch the sky... 🎵
13:35 you actually honked at the AI 😂
first game I have ever played ever !!!!
This really looks like a gamechanger for playing PSX games on huge TVs.
Yep. Not even PS4 NFS games can match this somehow.
I remember playing the shit out of this game when I was 9 years old and playin' it till I was around 12.
This is one of the best games that this franchise has ever done and one of my first introductions to it. My very first NFS game was Hot Pursuit 1 and it was a pretty great and entertaining game for me. I absolutely loved every detail of them.
Along with Gran Turismo 2, Porsche Unleashed was the game that made me grow a love for old cars and good music - since the soundtrack is absolutely a throwback to each era.
The career mode was stunning and I loved to do every race many many times. Some of those were pretty hard but damn, that is one of the things that made PU a classic. It wasn't so easy.
Great memories right there, ladies and gentlemen. Great memories.
The soundtrack is amazing
Feels so surreal watching the intro, man where did the time go?
Decent game but pretty different vs the PC version, where the PC version menu is an interactive garage...
This had the best music in the entire series.
something really good here: You can't tune your car but you need to repair damaged things to have the full power
Cara eu amava mt jogar esse Nfs no ps1
Ese juego mis recuerdos de niño
i used to love this game!
I remember me and my brother were playing 2 player. We were testing to see the if we can ram the 917k against a fast car and the 917 literally flew (the same thing happened when a giant hit you in Skyrim).
I love this game , even on PC version
Hard race & good driving
Pure nostalgia!
Agree. Even NFS PORSCHE UNLEASHED is miles above even F1 22.
I played this game when I was around 10 - I didn´t realize that a car has brakes, and wondered how to play this ... 😃
nice gameplay
Poderiam fazer esse jogo novamente com novos gráficos para windows 10
Very good driver
This is also starting Porsche and EA exclusive cars era. Where's other developer (not Xbox Game Studios) uses Rufs and Gemballas as Porsche substitute
Porsches doesn't appear in Underground 1 and 2. They could've just cut the EA exclusive deal immediately after underground 1 and 2 didn't include Porsche cars.
@@anthonylu1237 Underground 1 and 2 don't have Porsches because don't fit with JDM street racing theme, most of the cars in the game are from japanese manufactures like Nissan, Mazda, Mitsubishi and others.
I don't remember the 917, at least not in the PC version?!?!
But I liked racing a mod introducing a 800hp "Moby Dick" ... handling and drivability was cruel, but what a rush!!
935 - PC
917 - PS1
Love nostalgia games
Far better than even F1 22.
Next: Hot pursuit 2 (PS2 golden era starts) 😏
Love your vids from indonesia 🇮🇩
I'm pretty sure he already did that one

21:55 - what a gentleman :D
So this guy isn’t playing on epsxe? Or is beetle an addon to epsxe (new to this) I’m running epsxe and there are a few slight graphical issues w draw distance…
This is one of the best parts of nfs. I want to remastered)
Que pesar me doy 😢la pobreza de antes no permitió comprarme un ps1 en ese tiempo hoy en día tengo plata mucha plata gracias padre amado😢😢😢
#Excelente!
It's quite smooth for the PS1 game standart
He its using emulator.
These car models look absolutely incredible for a PS1 game. I actually prefer the PS1 version of Porsche Unleashed and NFSII, III and High Stakes, surprised everyone seem to think the opposite.
With Porsche i agree, but the rest on PS1 sucs compared to PC imo.
it reminds me of like, If Animal Crossing had cars
They must remastered it with its original soundtracks
21:54 loool
I like this game.
El sonido de VW gordo logradisimo jejeje, otra cosa la velocidad
This is also first nfs to feature, free roam.
Small freeroam.
❤❤❤
this game actually NAILED the MPH-moving ratio. its spot on
I want to request a burnout dominator video for the road race mission
The car design looks like an early PS2 game
The game that turned me into a classic Porsche nerd.
Es bellisimo :3
What a game
que nostalgia
NOSTALGIA
I would never trust myself driving a 917. I would be killed instantly.
Wait! Why no music here? The best part of the game, the music's from the old eras are very good.
Rendering very nicely. No music though. Guess it's not emulating the XA/CD audio correctly.
im crying...
Neither the 917 nor that race track were in the PC version. It actually looks like the game is running too fast..
Yeah, it's racing like that Red Bull concept car
0-100 in 1 sec :D
I agree too, those cars handled like boats, yet he's driving it like a 911
The racing cars are actually too fast even in actual ps1
i think all ps1 nfs games were at this pace
21:53 - *POWWW*
It would be great to see this on ps4 or ps5.
Nfs Pu PSX is made by Eden Studios, same developer as TDU 1 and 2. That's why TDUP mod had psx nfs pu musics as menu song
This explains why it also has VRally's driving physics
Made by Eden Studios...?
Interesting, I didn't know that and yes it explains why I recognized this menumusic from TDU.
ok,this explains a lot. The car sounds and physics from nfs high stakes were
far superior
Wrong, Test Drive Platinum its a fan mod, the game don't have any relation with Porsche Unleashed, the mod creator liked the garage song and added in the mod. This song don't appear in the original copy of Test Drive Unlimited.
Wow. I never knew that the PC and PS version were so different. While the PC version was more like a Sim ( I think it has the most believable physics of any NFS game) with a deep career mode this PS version is 100% an arcade racer. Would be cool if the PC version had a 917K
917 on PC version only with mods.
👍
The best need for speed game of all time, later the series was down hill
Wrong, the downhill doesn't started after that.
The NFS game made for Porsche hardcore fans. Trivia : NFS Porsche Unleashed for PS1 uses the same game engine as V-Rally 2.
aahh shitt.. time machinee
this is really a good NFS game....the sounds of the cars are really awesome...that sometimes you choose manual rather than automatic transmission...
PC version have better sounds.
I guess it's decontented but at least the brake calipers don't MOVE WITH THE WHEEL like on the PC
If you have a PSX Game with many BIN Files (Track1, Track2, Track3 etc) you must use the cue File to start the Game or you can't hear the completely Ingame Music.
so i grew up playing this on PC.. completely different game than ps1. wow lol the driving feels arcade-ey
I gave up trying to get the PC version working on my computer. Almost every work around leads to the same issues (Crashing or freezing on the first loading screen). So I guess the PS1 version is all I have for the time being.
