the weird thing about the amazons is that they are a big bunch of contradictions, they were invented by the greeks in order to mock women (as amazons always lost against the greeks), and yet they today simbolyze women independence. Secondly, the amazons were women who rallied behind Othrera to free themselves from the oppression of their husbands, but in the end they became oppressors of men themselves. I think the lesson we can get from this is that hatred only breeds more hatred, and we end up missing the good things in life, like Achilles and Penthesilea, who could have been lovers but ended up fighting.

I think you forgot to mention Penthesilea cursed Achilles to eventually kill someone he loved, which eventually came true when he killed Atalanta in Apocrypha. Granted, that only happened in the novel.

Though I am a man, she appeared before me with glorious gold to announce her arrival at my first attempt. My loyalty to her in JP was cemented ever since I took her as the free Servant off that ticket. I was drawn to her strength and her beauty accentuated it. But if I were to say it to her face, then I say that her feats of strength define her beauty -if that was enough to circumvent her short temper. Nonetheless, it seems she hasn't forgotten me, and decided to aid me again.

Can you imagine a scenario where she and Achilles are on a team and she just starts attacking him instead of the enemy (or randomly in Chaldea)? You'd need probably need two command seals to calm her down.
The Amazon's were known women, it's their thing. Gender bending her wouldn't really be possible.

Rolling for my Princess Jasmine but got NP2 Penth. I’m glad I didn’t have to wait long to learn about her, but I’ll wait till I finish Agartha to watch it to avoid spoilers.
I got 2 Penth as well with 130 quartz along with nightless caster and a blonde oni. At np2 She is a BEAST!!! With some of the best animations, using morningstars, swords and claws it's a wonder to watch her. Total worth the quartz for such a beauty alone.

I don’t know any women aside from her to hate being called beautiful or complimented in any way. But I learned that if I or any master or servant don’t want to be ripped a new one THAT WORD is a taboo to be said anywhere in her hearing radius.
A sad tale of a strong warrior, caught in a cycle of rage for false interpretation. I can understand that she felt herself disgraced after having lived as a warrior, yet Achilles never meant that as a disgrace as much as adoration. That line he said in FGO, that he thought about offering his death to her as apology, shows at least to me, that he still hasn't forgotten her and still has a soft spot for her. I think if he had a chance, he'd try again to be with her if he had the chance.
Too bad she is still so pissed off at him, that Atalanta has to try and keep her from not ripping his head off. He is blessed that he has a comrade like Atalanta keeping an eye out for her XD Well, maybe one day, bro. Wishing him luck for an event.

@@ankitaojha8133 It is an interaction when you have Achilles and Penthesilea in Chaldea. Achilles, in his interaction when Penthesilea is there, regrets her death, telling you his thoughts about offering his head to Penthesilea as an apology, but refuses to do so, because he couldn't protect us like that.
In in heritance of glory, there is also an option for dialogue where we ask him about Penthesilea and he immediately gets uncomfortable due to bad memories.
His grief for killing Penthesilea is legendary, even spawning the story of Heinrich von Kleist, a Drama revolving around Penthesilea and her and Achilles actually falling love and marrying. I am thankful that Type-moon kept his love for Penthesilea strong even in the game, as it was outright legendary. He went so far as to kill the asshole that gouged her eyes out, jump into a river to get her corpse out and give her a proper burial.
I can see Atalanta trying from the sidelines to sensibilize Penthesilea so these two could at least talk.

You know for a woman who does not like to be seen as one, Pent looks good in that black dress. Though all of that anger Jesus I shutter to think what would happen if someone were to offer her a snickers bar if she sees Achilles. It probably won't work but Pent is an interesting berserker.

Not really that excited for the Agartha servants so I don't plan on doing that much in the way of rolling for them outside of a couple multi's maybe. Although last night, I did 1 multi and 4 singles for the lols before I ended up getting Penthesilea, didn't get any of the others though.

Fun fact, a child of Hippolyta (though in some cases he's the child of Antiope ) with Theseus is Hippolytus. His most common legend is that his stepmother (Phaedra, Theseus' 2nd wife, while being under influence of Aphrodite) wanted to bang him and he (being blessed with the rarest power for Greek heroes, coming sense while also being a MALE hunter devoted to Artemis) refused her. Sources vary but it is believed that because of the rejection, Pheadra committed suicide and lied on her suicide note that Hippolytus had raped her. Theseus, angered at his son asks Poseidon to send in a sea monster to scare the horses of his chariot and kill him. (Later, Artemis tells Theseus about Phaedras lie). In the roman times, he was revived by Artemis as the forest god Virbius.
All and all, kinda the best outcome for one of Hypontla's children.
Would be great if would be a servant (rider class since his name translates as unleasher of horses) and he were to meet Penthesilea, and how he was killed by a great Greek hero (though in his case it was his dad).
Penth is one of those Servants that didn't interest me at first glance, but the more I learned about her story in the Nasuverse and after getting her myself, she's one of my top less-appreciated waifus. I'm very curious to see what she was like in her prime, both in beauty and in martial ability.

1:14 So is it actually canon that Herc killed Hippolyta in one of his labors in the Nasuverse? Because in mythology, that isn't always true. In some versions, she survives (and in fact GAVE him her girdle because she was impressed), and later goes on to marry Theseus.

In all honesty, they were enemies. It was war, both opposing sides. In the end, he let her die with honor and called her beautiful so what was wrong with that? To her it was dishonorable for being recognized as a woman. So how was that so awful. It could have been a lot worse. He even gave her a proper burial which showed respect. How does she repay him? She hates him with every fiber of her being and the very mention of his name turns her into a crazy lunatic. Who can feel sorry for that? She's got serious issues which explains why she is a Berserker, but the reason she became one was just absurd. I can understand if he went over the line like some enemies would do like mutilation and other dishonorable means, but being called beautiful doesn't cut it. She needs to get over her stupid hatred for that reason alone. She'll never defeat him and will be chasing a dream she'll never achieve. Might as well be a hamster running around on a wheel getting no where. That's her hell and she brought it on herself.

My theory isnt that she hates achilles but hates herself for being to heavily influenced by a compliment she probably knows it disgraceful to act in such away over something so small and instead of face the reality she'd rather direct her hatred at achilles than confront her own problems
Am I the only one who got spooked by her on Achilles and Chiron's banner?? I didnt know who she was until I reached agartha, and it was weird getting her on Achilles' banner :/
Shame they put the emphasis on her irrationality and the cultural misunderstanding with Achilles rather than the more serious aspect of her anger - the frequent abuse of Amazons by Greek heroes. Achilles called her beautiful, but Heracles (kinda by mistake) beat her sister to death.
Funny enough there is a version of the myth where Penthesilea kills Achilles. No seriously, she wins that fight and kills him but then Thetis sulks to Zeus about it leading to Zeus bringing him back to life giving Achilles a do over to kill her.
So in that light her anger at Achilles in Fate becomes even funnier.

I see Type Moon yet again went with the PG version of events to create the usual anime tropes. My understanding is that, after Achilles had killed her, he removes her helmet and became so in love with her, that he raped her corpse on the battlefield.
Obviously Fate would avoid that, but not all versions of the story had him do that.
@@otakudaikun Of course not every version has that, because despite dragging poor Hector's corpse behind his chariot, Achilles still has a charismatic persona in the public consciousness. God forbid we add "rapist" to his many faults.

If you read the Iliad, you will know that while Achilles was a jerk, he was not that bad at least when he meet her because by the time the Amazons joined, Hector was died and Priam had meet with Achilles to beg for his son's body. If this was Post-Patroclus death - Pre-Hector death Achilles, then maybe but it is still unlikely because that Achilles was a true Berseker and killed everything in his path without remorse so he won't stop to rape a corpse.
@@Kelvinator- The way they described it wasn't defiling, but a true show of love and respect, and he killed his own men because they too had fallen for her. This is ancient Greece, where even pedophilia and bestiality is romantic. This wasn't Rome's attempt to bash the character, in fact, despite their dubious origins to Troy, the Romans valued Greek culture enough to copy it.

If you read the Iliad, you will know that while Achilles was a jerk, he was not that bad at least when he meet her because by the time the Amazons joined, Hector was died and Priam had meet with Achilles to beg for his son's body. If this was Post-Patroclus death - Pre-Hector death Achilles, then maybe but it is still unlikely because that Achilles was a true Berseker and killed everything in his path without remorse so he won't stop to rape a corpse.
