@@tinatang1 The whole point of this report is to try to convince anyone listening that the entrenched foreign policy of the USA is literally insane no matter how you look at it.
@@xueueux the usa needs wars or theire militairy industrial complex goes bankrupt and they are the biggest sponsors of American politics on both sides ( democrats and republicans). America has no real industry, car industry collapsed and was moved abroad for one example. The war factory's, big tech and wallstreet is the only real industry they have.
The Reason why America is Collapsing and China is Rising is due to Globalislzation , When America Made a Deal with .China Thru Nixon, They The "CEOs" thought they Can do Away with Production Cost, and Factories, by Exporting American Manufacturing and Technology Including their "Blueprints" to China But Here is How America Failed and China Immensely Succeeding. The Chinese Were Willing to use and Grow their Billion plus Work and Labor 😁 Force, while America was "Cutting" their Work Force because Profit Motivated CEOs wanted to Make more Money Using less Labor. Since the Wealthy Class, CEOs, Corporate Stock holders, in American Big Industries, such as Military, Aviation, Pharmecutival millionaire and Billionaires have a "Cozy" Relationship with the Politicans "Ruling Elites" Through Political Organization, Financial systems like the Stock Market . And the Corporate Class are Themselves 😂 Part of the "Elite Class" This Created what I call a "Capitalistic Conflict of Interest" Because these Social, Economic , And Political Organization Are Pyramid Horizontally Intergrated and Complex, this Complexity Shows in Several ways, Corporate Welfare, Higher Taxes for the "Working Class" Voodoo" Economic Manipulation Creating "Artificial Supply and Demand", Foreign Policy Based Entirely on Economic Gains for the Ruling, and Corporate Elites in Finance, Banking, Fiat Money Printing, Military Industries Expenditure, Lobbyist ECT. Since these Institutions have Controlling FACTOR in Globalislzation .Example Trade deficit Due to Politicans Foreign policy ,Nations GDP are Directly tied to Interest Rates in International Banking , Dollar Reserves, Currency Manipulation, PetroDollar, Treasury and the Stock Market ECT. So When a Complexe Socio-Poliical, and Economic System like this Begins to Fail, Due to Home grown Problems like Joblessness, Undertrained Workforce Inflation, and Trade Deficits, ECT Some being the Results of the very " Globalized Economy created by America. Foreign policy Measures like Sanctions Are Put into place by the More Dominant Country in this case the United States to Compensate for The Failing Institution. And in Extreme case War is Used to Gain a Advantage, Example, Iraq Syria Wars And Military Actions for Oil And During 911 Terrorist Attack, When Most of America Financial, and Telecommunication Infastructure was Destroyed So Everything Connects Bottom up in a Horizontal based Pyramid System Now This is How China is Succeeding Because China has a Vertically Intergrated Social Economic , and Political Structure They can Deliberately Devaluated their Currency because they Don't have to Worry about Employee Lawsuits, Calling your Congressman, Suing the Government, Benifit Package, Retirement ECT Polical Motivated Labor laws, They don't have a large Wealth Divide because Basically Everyone is in the "Same 😂 Socio-Economic Class" This Stable Wage and Under Valued Currency Enables China to Make and Manufacture Products Very Cheaply Now This is How China will Surpass the United States. They Know America has a Much more Complex Pyramid Horizontal Capitalistic Social, Political and Economic System, So if the Economic Base Fail , Their System is Devalued and Will Suffer a Catastrophic Crash, Almost Where we Are Headed Today.. The Economic Base of the American System is the Working Class numbering In the tens of Millions. Without this Working Class You can't Tax, Sustain a Thriving Government , Vote Resulting in a One-sided Political Party Dominating System, And American Politics is Highly Geographical, Example Red States, blue State , Electoral college, And these States Welfare is Directly dependant on Manufacturing, and Production, Which was Sold or Given to China in Trade Agreement. The Olny Base that The Chinese have is a Intergrated Vertical polical Base , That Olny the Socio-Poliical Elites in China Control Minus the People, Labor Force , Since it's a One Party System their is no Instability or Political uncertainty. Which in turn lead to Economic Uncertainty. and Since China is Geographically Similar , because Most of the Country is on Mountain Region, Most Cities And Population Centered on Flat Viable terrain. Unlike America Where Many people are Individualistic ,Have Differ Political Religious Affiliations, And Want to Live Away from the Big Cities, Again the Horizontally Intergrated Structure I referenced. So China Can Better Manage and Control their One Party Social and Political System to Manipulate their Economic System, This is how China will Overtake the United States When Any Economic System fails , It's "VALUE" Will Simply be Transferred to the Connecting Adjacent Global System in this case CHINA Because of "LINKED"Currency, Trade, Finance Example. IMF, International Banking, Shared Debt, Bond Among Nations

Wish there are many, many people like you love peace for our world. We can’t afford to go back to the Cold War. The world is changed. Cold War thinking is out of date!
China has openly said so many times that it wants to cooperate. To cooperate, there must be mutual respect. However, US has branded it as evil, aggressive, deceitful etc. How could China respond except to react as the 'enemy'?
He is not wrong with US mentality of if you not with us, you are against us..no matter how loud and many time countries and nations say "No...we just want peace and live with everyone.." It's like peace is a difficult word for US to understand..
The usa looks like don Quichot in the story of ‘Don Quichot de la Mancha’ an old knight dressed in armor trying to fight all kinds of ‘unrighteousness ‘ with his loyal servant. One day he saw a windmill and thought it was an enemy, he charged with his lance against the turning blades of the windmill and got caught on one of the blades, turning along faster and faster as the wind blows harder. He cried and yelled while hanging on the blade, helpless and frustrated until his servant took him down. The usa sees China as an imaginary enemy just like don Quichot sees the windmill as an imaginary enemy while China is just working hard to produce useful things for the people.
Excellent example if heard in the ear of armoured dress war mongers on driving seat on useless US LEd NATO doing same as you present with example In my view armoured dress don in his state deef& blind results definitely cought in windmill now in a case of Ukraine may result a windmill scenario

Thank you for the very insightful point of view from Professor Sach. Still a US centric point of view but a world ahead of our inept leaders and our pathetic "free media".
I cannot remember any American or indeed a westerner who speak the truth like Prop sacks , and i wish the politicians will listen to his honest assessment of our current situation . BUT it is impossible for arrogant bullies to listen to an honest counsel, until someone comes along to bloody their noses.
If you think a system that failed to its own people and failed to what supposedly called allies, will take global responsibility, you are not thinking or blindly you are refusing to live with the facts
The US have always regarded the Taiwan issue as its trojan horse, similarly at a lesser extent was Hong Kong until China rightfully passed its National Security Law.
If I have the finances , I will want to help him run for President as an independent candidate. He is unlikely to win but his view will be part of the national debate in hope of a peaceful and better world.
To say you don’t know Russia’s motives is just bizarre. Putin has spelt it out plainly. He is concerned about Russian security and needs guarantees. NATO and Europe are moving onto their borders despite previous pacts. It’s not hard to understand.
Great talk! Prof Sachs mentioned the climate crisis at least once, but it's worth highlighting that any solution can only come through global cooperation. Current trends guarantee termination.
The NATO military threat is a red (or at best pink) herring. The elephant in the room few talk about is trade. EU/US do not want the China-Russia One Belt One Road plan to be successful, and yet all it will do is make trade less costly for everyone, and USA firms (who are invited to policy seats where they do not belong) can always afford to pay fair prices for imports, and sell exports at lower prices still making profits, they just do not want to. The Crimea is a key place for NATO friendly allies to put road blocks up against fair trade. It is pure oligarch greed that is driving militaristic policy here, not really sovereignty issues. International trade is a major reason wars do not happen. When powerful nations distort fair trade then the war hawks have their excuse to beat the drums. Here it's slightly perverse: China is expanding trade, lowering global economic costs, and the USA does not like it, they (US exporters) want unfair trade and high prices. The lessen to avoid war is do not let exporters anywhere near your policy table. Their interest is their customer, the foreigner, not your own people.
U.N. voted 130-against 2 (US and Ukraine) to outlaw Nazism. On 16 December, 2021, the United Nations tabled a resolution that called for “combating glorification of Nazism, neo-Nazism and other practices that contribute to fueling contemporary forms of racism.” The only nations to vote against it were the United States and Ukraine. Every Russian knows that it was across the plains of Ukraine’s “borderland” that Hitler’s divisions swept from the west in 1941, bolstered by Ukraine’s Nazi cultists and collaborators. The result was more than 20 million Russian dead. This is the driving force behind Russia’s respect-seeking, self-protective security proposals, which were published in Moscow in the week the U.N. voted 130-2 to outlaw Nazism. They are: - NATO guarantees that it will not deploy missiles in nations bordering Russia. (They are already in place from Slovenia to Romania, with Poland to follow.) - NATO to stop military and naval exercises in nations and seas bordering Russia. - Ukraine will not become a member of NATO. - The West and Russia to sign a binding East-West security pact. - The landmark treaty between the US and Russia covering intermediate-range nuclear weapons to be restored. (The U.S. abandoned it in 2019.) These amount to a comprehensive draft of a peace plan for all of postwar Europe and ought to be welcomed in the West. But who understands their significance? We are told that Putin is a pariah, “killer” and a threat to Christendom. Russian-speaking Ukrainians, under economic blockade by Kyiv for seven years, are fighting for their survival. The “massing” army we seldom hear about is the 13 Ukrainian brigades laying siege to Donbas: an estimated 150,000 troops. I have spent 40 yrs doing business with China, I saw the immense Poverty that existed back then and watched China grow into a Superpower. They have the most incredible High Speed Rail system in the World. I worked in Russia in a very Senior Capacity, I had an Office in Kiev, I worked with Ukrainian Oligarchs and was shocked by the level of Corruption in Ukraine. I had many Ukrainians working for me in Russia and Ukraine. I can’t see Russia attacking Ukraine, it’s like attacking your family, from a viewpoint of bloodlines Russia & Ukraine have family members on both sides. That’s why Russia doesn’t want to attack Ukraine. It’s like England attacking Wales, I don’t believe that would happen.
Great analysis from Professor Sachs as usual but there one particular point, at 37:50, in which he claims that China was being mischievous by dividing Europe, which i wholly disagree with. What was China supposed to do if the west side of europe did not want to take part in the BRI? Don´t do business at all with the east side? Its entirely the fault of the European Union and not the Chinese at all.
I grew up being resentful to Sachs for his role in Russia's shock therapy...I thought no man could be more despicable than someone who could commit this kind of horrendous crime. I am glad to find out that he has outgrown his...bad ideas and is not inherently an evil man.
He recommended a solution for Poland and Russia and the US government did approve it. he was very pleased with himself only to find out that the US will never ever apply it. There is a video somewhere where he told what happened.
Jeffery forgets that if we achieved cooperative equilibrium, then the military industrial complex will go out of business. The Nash Equalibrium is desirable for the US because it thrives on conflict.

An honest American speaks for good of the world that'll benefit the USA too n strengthen her leadership eventually unless USA should stop rule n divide inheritaged from UK. 6-7 billion people will change this galaxy...
Postscript (2): Of course someone will lose something. The question is whether this loss, in this case economic, is not preferable if it avoids a human catastrophe due to a potential military conflict.
The general public in the US will probably agree with Professor Sach, but not people at the top echelon of the US society, especially those who benefit from unrest in the world.
Postscript: Professor Jeffrey Sachs asserts that it was possible to transition from 0.0 to 5.5. If we only talk about the military dimension and the potential for conflict, perhaps this is possible. But then we disregard the economic dimension. Because we must not forget what gives importance to the military dimension which is, ultimately, a way to reap more wealth for oneself. And since we live in a global capitalism the states not only behave more or less like large corporations, they are closely linked to them. Of course the United States knows that with the new competitors, as it happened with the development of Japan and South Korea for example, they will lose or will not succeed in obtaining in wealth what they had planned there a few decades promoting a certain type of global capitalism. The question that remains is the following: to what extent is the United States ready to use its military power to try to secure a greater share of the world's wealth in the future. (Portugal, Porto)

It is very difficult to realize, Gentlemen, that it seems necessary to make a great effort to argue something accessible to the common sense of most people. Is it really a difficulty of understanding? No, it is simply inherent in the fact that a state entity assumed as a given forever that it would be absolutely hegemonic. It is renouncing this thesis which is difficult and not the understanding of common sense arguments. Said in other words, giving up a certain reality and not a difficulty of understanding.

Respect to Professor Sachs!

This is a very constructive discussion. You nailed it Jeffrey. We all need to build bridges rather than trying to "kill" each other. At the end of the day, we all share this world together. I, as 3rd generation Malaysian Chinese residing in Australia, I want to live in peace and harmony. I'm sure people agree with me. 😍
The problem is:
1. the professor is knowledgeable while most of the politicians are ignorant and under-educated.
2. the professor is objective while the politicians have personal agenda and causing conflict w Russia and China, even superficially, can benefit themselves personally.
3. the military-industrial complex has profound interests in conflict.
4. when Americans soldiers lose their life in foreign wars, they are most likely to be the kids of lower social class people (watch Mike More documentary)
Solution: mutual destruction when the conflict becomes uncontrolable. Everybody dies together. That's fair! Kudos to games of American politicians!
They aren't ignorant. They just works for the highest paying lobbyist.
Your conclusion of mutual destruction is the best solution is based on your Western perspective, which should not imposed on the rest of the world which do not share your selfishness, greed and arrogance.
@@tinatang1 The whole point of this report is to try to convince anyone listening that the entrenched foreign policy of the USA is literally insane no matter how you look at it.
I agree with your list except that number 3 should be at number 1.
It's so nice to hear the Professor making rational sense.
At the end of all the US/China SUMMIT, China has expressed its desire to the Mutual Respect, Mutual Co Existence and A Harmonious Societies
And US keep ignoring it and say China is hostile..oh lord!..
The Reason why America is Collapsing and China is Rising is due to Globalislzation , When America Made a Deal with .China Thru Nixon, They The "CEOs" thought they Can do Away with Production Cost, and Factories, by Exporting American Manufacturing and Technology Including their "Blueprints" to China
But Here is How America Failed and China Immensely Succeeding.
And the Corporate Class are Themselves 😂 Part of the "Elite Class"
This
Created what I call a "Capitalistic Conflict of Interest" Because these Social, Economic , And Political Organization Are Pyramid Horizontally
Intergrated and Complex, this Complexity Shows in Several ways, Corporate Welfare, Higher Taxes for the "Working Class" Voodoo" Economic Manipulation Creating "Artificial Supply and Demand", Foreign Policy Based Entirely on Economic Gains for the Ruling, and Corporate Elites in Finance, Banking, Fiat Money Printing, Military Industries Expenditure, Lobbyist ECT.
Foreign policy Measures like Sanctions Are Put into place by the More Dominant Country in this case the United States to Compensate for
The Failing Institution. And in Extreme case War is Used to Gain a Advantage, Example, Iraq Syria Wars And Military Actions for Oil And During 911 Terrorist Attack, When Most of America Financial, and Telecommunication Infastructure was Destroyed So Everything Connects Bottom up in a Horizontal based Pyramid System
Now
This is How China is Succeeding Because China has a Vertically Intergrated Social Economic , and Political Structure They can Deliberately Devaluated their Currency because they Don't have to Worry about Employee Lawsuits, Calling your Congressman, Suing the Government, Benifit Package, Retirement ECT
Polical Motivated Labor laws, They don't have a large Wealth Divide because Basically Everyone is in the "Same 😂 Socio-Economic Class"
This Stable Wage and Under Valued Currency Enables China to Make and Manufacture Products Very Cheaply
Now
This is How China will Surpass the United States. They Know America has a Much more Complex Pyramid Horizontal Capitalistic Social, Political and Economic System,
So if the Economic Base Fail , Their System is Devalued and Will Suffer a Catastrophic Crash, Almost Where we Are Headed Today..
So China Can Better Manage and Control their One Party Social and Political System to Manipulate their Economic System,
This is how China will Overtake the United States When Any Economic System fails , It's "VALUE" Will Simply be Transferred to the Connecting Adjacent Global System in this case CHINA Because of "LINKED"Currency, Trade, Finance Example. IMF, International Banking, Shared Debt, Bond Among Nations
America Don't Believe in Mutual friends, They believe in Total Domination
The USA regards compromise as a sign of weakness.
Double standard for United States. Enough said

Prof. Sachs, please candidate for Presidency. We need person like you for the country.
But MIC don't want, then how ?
its useless when candidate won. The Capitalists and MIC will give order to the candidate.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍
No rich American corporations will ever donate money for his campaign. The U.S. presidency is EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE. It is for the corrupt and the rich and not for people like Jeffrey Sachs!
The American permanent state wont allow anyone who talks sense to rise, especially someone like Prof Sachs. The Senate and congress are too corrupted by $$$$$$
Too bad Sachs’ voice is minuscule in the US, not even resonating with the intellectual and the sanes. My respect for his bravery and tirelessness advocating cooperations instead of confrontations with China.
@Beast Mode Are you a modern day prophet?
@Beast Mode I am not a prophet, but you probably right
We need more people like Jeffrey Sachs everywhere.
Professor Sachs has an incredibly balanced perspective of geopolitics. Pity he is not in charge of the US! Thank you for this interview.
@Beast Mode ...and that makes you a war monger
@Beast Mode I'm aware that you don't care; Your history shows it. In due course you will go down in flames, that's what over confidence does. Enjoy while you can.
Europe Union is an economic and political union. But each country is a sovereign national so have every right to have bilateral ties with China outside the European Union.
Bravo 👏 Prof Sachs!
As an American, you can see from a third world country point of view. You are genuine, wise and a peace maker comparing the war hawks in Washington DC.
Wish there are many, many people like you love peace for our world. We can’t afford to go back to the Cold War. The world is changed. Cold War thinking is out of date!
A very comprehensive unbiased comments from Mr Jeffrey D. Sachs ..TQ.

Well said and to the point
Professor Sachs' in-depth views are filled with wisdom and is a bright beacon for world peace.
do as I say not as I do.....American exceptionalism.
Professor Sachs is the most rational and balanced voice in the USA! Bravo for your courage to speak for the truth!
Great job. Every country should be part of the UN, with no one getting veto power. 💖
That is a recipe for the US to bribe small nations and then go on to crush Russia and China.
Not only his thinking, but also his voice are remarkable and great.
China has openly said so many times that it wants to cooperate. To cooperate, there must be mutual respect. However, US has branded it as evil, aggressive, deceitful etc. How could China respond except to react as the 'enemy'?
He is not wrong with US mentality of if you not with us, you are against us..no matter how loud and many time countries and nations say "No...we just want peace and live with everyone.."
It's like peace is a difficult word for US to understand..
"evil, aggressive, deceitful" - the USA must be looking in the mirror.
China must never forget about the burning n looting of the summer palace ..Buckingham and Versailles still stand today
Well said Jeffrey, as always.
Well said Mr. Jeffrey Sachs.
Amazing man with common sense and a wealth of knowledge.
Excellent example if heard in the ear of armoured dress war mongers on driving seat on useless US LEd NATO doing same as you present with example
In my view armoured dress don in his state deef& blind results definitely cought in windmill now in a case of Ukraine may result a windmill scenario

Professor Sach, your current comments and analysis on multilateral relationships are very encouraging, pragmatic and true.

You have a big big heart!
Realistic and down to earth analysis.
@@thisiskevin1000 I fully agree with your comments!
All truths. Well done Prof Jeff. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for the very insightful point of view from Professor Sach. Still a US centric point of view but a world ahead of our inept leaders and our pathetic "free media".
A very rational person who believes in peace. I think most Chinese, including overseas one, would agree with your game theory. Thanks for sharing
Very fair minded. Thank you for speaking the truth.
Fantastic discussion. Hope the leaders of the Western nations are listening.
Now that Russia has taken military action, why is everyone acting surprised? Prof Sachs articulated so prophetically and clearly 3 weeks ago!
Well, at least this guy has a good clear sense of analysis of the world
Great discussion by Geffery D. Sachs..
Very productive learning lessons. Thanks a million.
Cooperation, mutual respect. Well said Sir.
Great talk! Prof Sachs mentioned the climate crisis at least once, but it's worth highlighting that any solution can only come through global cooperation. Current trends guarantee termination.
Wow, that game theory chart brought me back to college. This is a very clear and precise analysis.
"When goods stop crossing borders, armies frequently do"
I always hold Prof. Sachs in high regard for his impartial, global views and treatment.
Jeffrey Sachs is right spot-on! 👍👍👍
Actually, US Motto is "You are my Puppet or my Enemy"
U.N. voted 130-against 2 (US and Ukraine) to outlaw Nazism.
They are:
- NATO guarantees that it will not deploy missiles in nations bordering Russia. (They are already in place from Slovenia to Romania, with Poland to follow.)
- NATO to stop military and naval exercises in nations and seas bordering Russia.
- Ukraine will not become a member of NATO.
- The West and Russia to sign a binding East-West security pact.
- The landmark treaty between the US and Russia covering intermediate-range nuclear weapons to be restored. (The U.S. abandoned it in 2019.)
These amount to a comprehensive draft of a peace plan for all of postwar Europe and ought to be welcomed in the West.

Great conversation!
When did you write this comment? Was it before 24th February 2022?
Thank you for this video. I hope more people can view this.

Thank you very much, Prof Sach, that you try to calm down the Americans. The mentality of the Chinese is indeed not the same as the west.
Great interview
I grew up being resentful to Sachs for his role in Russia's shock therapy...I thought no man could be more despicable than someone who could commit this kind of horrendous crime.
I am glad to find out that he has outgrown his...bad ideas and is not inherently an evil man.
It was his former employer, the IMF, who did that.
Nice to follow up with Prof Sach's lectures & reasoning . Tq.

With all respect to Prof. Jefferey Sachs, I don't quite agree with some of your points of view's:

2. Agreed with you on BRI projects of 🇨🇳, it is the same concept as in 🇺🇸 offering various types of loans for business acquisition/start-up, mortgages, students loans, car loans and etc..So, Y on Earth that 🇺🇸 & its allies insisted that 🇨🇳 is setting debts trapped when their intentions are ways better than others?🤔?..If 🇺🇸 is "smart" as it claimed to be, it should invest the wasted 💸💸 in military industry into BUILD FUTURE BETTER along times ago; then by now, don't U think 🇺🇸 is ways off the graphs of the wealthiest & healthiest nation's on Earth?🤔?
3. As we all know the common saying: Cannot teach the old dog new tricks, perhaps 🇺🇸.gov should reflecting on this phrase's and see whether or not should new tricks be adopted and learned to improve 🇺🇸 since the existed ones are no longer effective and are not that better for the future of your own country next-gen..
3. Let talks about RESPONSIBILITY and BEING RESPECTFUL, at your age's in present moment, wouldn't you agree that in any business associations, these 2 "R" letter's words are Crucially Important 4 maintaining good long terms relationships including in romantic relationship's..Having stated this, would you please tell me at what % on scales from 1-100, where 🇺🇸 is located??..Midways at 50% or below the "cracked 🔕"?🤔?..Love to hear more of your thoughts and points of view's on how 🇺🇸 can reconcile and would like to reconnect with 🇨🇳 for long term's peaceful relationships that wouldn't devastated 🇺🇸 furthermore than it is already happening..Thank you Prof. Sachs..🤝🕊💐..

Good discussion by prof.sachs.
Critical thinkers have an excellent spokes person in the professor.
An honest American speaks for good of the world that'll benefit the USA too n strengthen her leadership eventually unless USA should stop rule n divide inheritaged from UK. 6-7 billion people will change this galaxy...
The US (primarily) considers independent thinking by foreign nations to be "uppity."
American arrogance is amazing
Why can’t us leadership think rationally like Sachs? The current Russia aggression is an reaction. Ukraine is best left as a buffer.
Thank you, sir!

A leader is only a leader when there are those that are willing to follow it. If no one follows it then it is simply wandering off in to the wilderness.
