Arc V should have lasted 200 episodes 50 episodes per dimension. For Season 3, split it between Yuya and Yuzu having their own adventure. Yuya contends with Edo Phonix while Yuzu leads a rebellion in the Fusion arc. Yuzu Hiiragi must contend with an nemesis named Hell Kaiser Ryo. Yuzu must overcome this adversary to grow as a fighter and warrior and savior and proving that she has learned something sine losing to Sergey. That is how season 3 should've been. I would have no idea how to write a tv series with a 150 episode limit so I cannot say much about how to divy up stuff. All I can say is have a clear beginning, middle and end and stick to that formula. Otherwise you have Synchro lasting too long and not enough time to flesh out the Fusion and Xyz settings. Growing after losing to Sergey. Lets do some roleplay. You are Yuzu Hiiragi. You know what happened in episode 77. So you go against a foe like Yuri or Hell Kaiser Ryo, fighting for what is right, trying to save people, the four dimensions from Leo Akaba's tyrannical rule. What goes through your mind? What is your mentality to winning the day against these SS tier duelists?
thetiger39 Skyler Phoenix yeah, I don't see Yuzu dueling Kasier or Yuri for smiles, it's too unrealistical. I honestly would've liked it if Kaiser was commander of chief, and Edo was second in command. I would've had Yuya vs Edo round two be like the one from the fanfic Bonds Beyond Pendulum, where Yuya speaks to Edo and the Academia soldiers about how they never learned what was truely right and wrong due to growing up in Academia and showing the Xyz residents that they are not the only victims of the dimensional war.

This show definitely needed at least 1 extra season to give all the characters a bit more. They had such an awesome storyline that actually brought me back to YuGiOh
I forgot they put Yuya on the left side at the beginning. Never noticed that at all. And it's sad to hear all the VAs for Yugo, Yuto, Rin and Ruri all retired. Even more weird they were the counterparts' respective dimensions. And a lot of the foreshadowing they did at the beginning was left unnoticed.

Minor fun facts: The backgrounds of the Yuya silhouettes is the same colour as each bracelet girls gem, if you bend it slightly with Yuzu. In I believe the first ending Yuya's holding four popsicles that has the same colours as the gems as well(and lead to alot of theorising that Ruri could be blonde). Also i always liked how each Yuboy was almost opposite in personality to the protagonist of the dimension/world they're from
Things I miss about Arc-V are people being positve about it. Yes, the ending was awful, worst ending to a Yugioh series...but that doesn't mean the entire show is bad,. I've said it before in Arc-V videos and I don't mind saying it again, Arc-V is still easily my favorite of the spin-offs, because of all the good things it had going for it.
Yeah I'm very aware that me saying Arc-V is my favorite is a controversial opinion, but it's one I will defend to no end. It's just really tiring to see the same jokes 'Last time I was this earyl, Arc-V was still good' and generally the ending complains over and over again with no mention of other stuff. That would be like only focusing on post-Dark Signers filler for 5D's or early episode for Zexal.
As a rather big Arc V fan by myself, I cannot agree more with you. I even saw this shift from loving Arc V to hating it among my very friends- before the show ended we all loved it and appreciated it despite it flaws, and in some regard we loved it thanks to it's flaws. But after ep. 148, many of my friends got really disappointed by Arc V, and started to trash it hard. Not to a point to say that it was awful, but to a point that they all agreed in one voice that it was flawed beyond repair, and those flaws destroyed for them the good stuff that Arc V had (or at least after the end of the Standard arc). It was a very sad shift to witness, especially because we gave Arc V so much love and positive attention. Well, at least this show helped to bring all of us together in the very first place, and this is the most important thing.
Another amazing fact about Allen from Yugioh Arc-V. Both Allen and Anna (ZEXAL) shares the same deck. There is more, my theory is that Allen is related to Anna Kozuki (Anna Kaboom) if you look at their surname. Anna Kozuki from ZEXAL Allen Kozuki from Arc-V. Same surnames, Same decks.
If is by what I heard in Akibaranger, they do that in Super Sentai too where the good guys are always at the right side of the screen whenever they are about to beat the monsters or bad guys. Same happens when the bad guy is about to beat the sentai teams, they put him on the right. Something about kabuki theater. I should probably rewatch that episode entirely to remember exactly what he said.

The only thing I could think is that the yu boys and yu girls were each split into 4 and 4 is an unlucky number in Japan? ARC-V couldn't been maybe the best arc but ironically i think its the worst. It had all the right elements in there and even a really good plot, but it ended up being a rushed ball of throw up all jumbled together.
arc 5 is the biggest missed opportunity series with so much wasted potential. Just seeing the end of the video with all the foreshadowing and what not means they had the series planned to an extent but..... bad writing prevailed. it trully kills me to think what arc v couldve been
There's another thing about the Mieru duel and forshadowing. After Yuya Summons 5 Monsters, Mieru looks at each of them and tells them what each means. 4 of her readings are just referencing the fact that later on in that episode he will fall down and die, but for her last reading, which is Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon, she just says there's an aura of mystery around it. Also, the coin toss in that duel to determine who goes first is not heads or tails, but rather Dragon and Demon. Yuya picks Dragon but Mieru reveals it to be a Demon and says this shows that Yuya is hungry for power.

I know it's pointless to complain about it now, but watching this video reminded me how much I wanted to see Yuya vs Yuzu in Academia when she had the parasite. I still can't believe Yuzu didn't duel and Rin only dueled once. As far as why no original Yugioh characters made it into Arc-V, I can think of a number of reasons. One might be maybe they didn't want legendary duelist like Kaiba or Joey losing to new characters. If any DM characters were in Arc-V they'd eventually lose to Yuri or Zarc. Another reason might be because they already had a movie going on. From that standpoint it does make more sense to use GX, 5Ds, and Xezal characters over them for Arc-V.
Yeah, but with the GX characters, they did not used LEGENDARY duelist too, just Alexis and Aster. Because I really doubt if they would make Zane and Jaden lose to some new characters tho... With 5Ds and Zexal on the other hand, used legendary duelist from their series... Lol
Yea both sides of the wall, not every Legacy Character could make it to the final plot anyways... Darkside of Dimensions being ongoing was just a major problem on top of scheduel problems... On the other hand, in-universe, not everyone made the split clean, someone has to glue the dimensions together... or at least mix with Zarc depending on your interpritation.
I was devastated by ARC-V's ending. The series was so close to becoming my favourite Yu-Gi-Oh! series, but the final episodes were so incredibly lacklustre. I was kind of expecting a battle in the fifth dimension where Zarc's persona splits off or something due to the pendulum pendant or Ray dragging him out with her last bit of strength and then Yuuya gets Ray's cards through bullshit main character powers and the deus ex machina that is anime friendship and begins duelling, where he gradually severs each of his counterparts away by bringing their dragons to his side of the field and then they either all tag-team Zarc together or just give Yuuya emotional support or something. I kinda wish they'd given Yuuri the evil cleansing treatment to make him change his outlook, too.
I think they wanted an unhappy ending...given that Final Fantasy VII and Evangelion neither had truly happy endings...and those two things, along with many other things, got Easter egg'd in this anime. But those two are the most in-your-face influences on the story. Sephiroth's "Reunion" and the projections in Advent Children, man obsessed with only one thing(Gendo). Same man neglects his other son(Declan/Reiji is Shinji Ikari). And well, Ray is Aerith and Rei Ayanami. (Star Wars with Palpatine, alien parasite movies, Jean-Luc Picard, Beethoven, Spaceballs--Lulu gives me Daphne Zuniga vibes, Pokemon-not just Sora's toy card but the concept of "carding" people, Digimon with the googles and Selena possibly having some basis on Rika from Tamers)
y'know, on the topic of foreshadowing: in Japanese, did you notice that Zarc was in control during the first episode? if you listen to (and read if you're using subtitles) Yuya's Pendulum Summon chant, he says something completely different when he was in an Awakened state than he does as himself. the only reason it gets glossed over is specifically the fact that the next episode immediately follows that point, and it hints at him being at a haze afterward. he doesn't quite remember what happened, and specifically doesn't know how to properly use Pendulum Summoning himself despite defeating the champion with it, and had to spend the night with Gongenzaka studying it.
I guess that explains why he just knew the mechanic at that time. I actually always assumed the sudden plotamnesia was supposed to signal it having been a rush of the moment-type of deal.
I went in thinking I wouldn't learn anything new and yet I did! 5Ds had even more cameo characters than I realized! One thing I am really surprised by is that you did not mention Allen Kozuki having the last name as Anna and similar deck. It seems like more of a half cameo than the nobody background characters.

Arc-V Jack was awsome. he played a sort of sub rival/teacher role for Yuya and he did it amazingly. he OTKed Yuya if my memory is not failing me. Together with Gongenzaka he was the only one who even got a second turn against Zarc, even getting some attacks of. He made Yuya shit bricks once or twice...
the idea behind zarc and the story was soooooo good D: all those little hints that something isnt right and everything...its still a real shame they dropped the good writing way too early :/
It was good because previous works made an impact first. Especially Final Fantasy 7. Yuya's journey might have been planned to be a Cloud Strife clone. Where his "successes" and journey ultimately leads to a surprising crash. The whole show is more than a Yu-gi-oh dimension mashup. It's a pop culture mashup. Digimon and Pokemon get a shoutout. And you could even interpret the Fusion dimension as aggressive Pokemon trainers catching humans instead of Pokemon. Roget got some Palpatine vibes, and "brainwashed microchips" is like Jango Fett's clones.
I really enjoyed Arc-V for the most part, it was just near the ending when we got to Academia that I was a bit iffy on it, but I actually really liked this part

There was a cameo of a certain location that while yuya and friends were trapped in the XYZ dimension. It was the resistance base of operation. It was exactly like the home of Yuma's teacher Master Roku. And found it quite humorous how both Yuma and Yuya had pretty much the exact same reaction to the excessive amount of stairs they had to climb to reach the top.
BTW an earlier comments reminded me, full OCG names of Odd-Eyes and -insertname- combination: Odd-Eyes Rebellion - Supreme King Black Dragon (debut in episode 40 something!) There was also an easteregg about the Wii Game Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds Wheelie Breakers. I don't know exactly the episode, but it was during the prison mini arc in the Synchro Dimension. A security guy was playing a very similiar game on a mobil console.
Oh damn, the writers focused more on Easter eggs and foreshadowing than the actual plot. I'm just kidding. I'm just bitter on how Arc-V went given how good the series could've been.

It looked like Bastion and Atticus in the picture. Features of the face and shade of the hair make me think it’s Atticus Rhodes implied at least. Placement of judai vs darkness makes sense when the theory of night shroud knowing what would occur in the future being zero reverse.
Actually, Fudou Style Solitaire Theory might also be a reference to "Solitaire" decks in the Yugioh Card Game. Or a deck/style of play that most of the current competitive yugioh format falls under, you basically play a game of solitaire trying to build your "Board" to be unbreakable and on the next turn your opponent has to try and break it.
Continuing on this train of thought; Stardust Dragon decks can be really effective at this style of play, *especially* when restricted to Synchro summoning as the only means of, well I would say "extra deck summoning", however I'm fairly certain the Synchro event didn't allow neither Pendulum or Ritual summoning. Anyways that archetype belonging to Yusei Fudo and being capable of the solitaire playstyle is either a fascinating coincidental reference, or really clever.

Grayfox gr Jack didnt win the first, it was unfinished, and Yusei would have won. They dueled on Fortune cup where Yusei won. Then they dueled when Yusei wanted to duel without Synchroes and I think they didnt finish but Jack would surely win. They duel for the 4th time at the end when Yusei wins. No coincidences
It wasn't a good draw for him, Yuya had him beat until he played a card that forced a draw and saved him. I think it would have been more impressive had he forced Yuya to force a draw and Edo was about to win
No impressive is Revolver forcing a tie in VRAINS. That was a protagonist getting backed into a corner and pulling a tie as a safety net. Aster or Edo just got his butt kicked. A lot.
I really liked all all the Duel Academy grunts used Ancient Gear cards like GX’s Crowler who was a teacher and all the Sector Security grunts used Goio cards like Trudge in 5D’s who was of course Sector Security. Also, kind of a neat choice having Sergei use Earthbound Immortals against Jack since those were the cards of the Dark Signers.
Well maybe jack dueled yuya the most fully.But I can count three instances in the first season of arc v where gong and yuya.At the very start of the show.When yuya pendulums for the second time.And as yuyas final duel to get to the tournament thingy.They probably dueled again sometime though.And if you count Zarc that’s another duel for gong.And Edos total duels against yuya is also three.

Seeing as how Atem and Hugo were functioning as separate protagonists for almost the entire last season. You seem very triggered lol, it was just a fun question. To me, the main character of DM was Yugi, not Atem. Although, I also consider them to be one spirit so there was no real loser in that final duel. And Yugi technically lost to Rebecca, if a baseball team is winning 60 - 0 and then surrender in the 8th inning, they lost, simple as that. At the end of the day, it's all just for fun, no need to get upset about it lol
Yugioh Everything Okay it is your question but you completely missed the point of both his duel with Rebecca and the entire show. The show was about Yami finding his past and Yugi getting the strength to stand on his own. And as you pointed out Yami did lose that duel so even if you wrongly assume they are the same person he would have both lost and won. And like you said, losing is still losing. Although I wouldn't call letting the angry kid beat you to avoid a tantrum losing, and everyone on the show admonishes Rebecca and pretty much unanimously declares Yugi the de facto winner. I think it stupid how out of all the 5d characters the people who make this show choose to make an cameo appearance it has to be a bunch of unimportant filler characters, like that fat guy in a yellow business suit that duel Jack in an filler episode, that clown guy, and for some stupid reason they even give an cameo appearance to Dexter , not Leo and Luna who were kind of main characters to their series or hell even Akiza , the give to the friend of Leo and Luna , just to reference them , but not to give them anything as good as screen appearance in another series

I believe that odd-eyes wing dragon and odd-eyes venom dragon where meant to be used throughout the synchro and fusion arcs The paladin cards seem out of place given what everyone's expectations where at the time
Indeed... I have the very same idea about those cards and some more... *Performapal Odd-Eyes Synchro* too was probably supposed to have appeared in the Synchro Arc, back when ARC-V was still introducing elements of the previous shows into it's episodes, instead of appearing so late into the show. Additionally, *Odd-Eyes Lancer Dragon* was most probably meant for the Yuya to use from the start in order to gain absolute advantage over his enemies during Action Duels when they were crossing dimensions. Given that it's effects of preventing Spell Card activation when it attacks, it makes less sense to appear so late into the show . I can see Reiji giving him Lancer Dragon specially when you recall that the Lancer's main advantage were Action Duels and Pendulum Cards. Also, *Odd-Eyes Raging Dragon*... consistency-wise it makes no sense for it to be an Xyz-Pendulum since Odd-Eyes Rebellion Dragon already fills that role. Given how the other dragons were Supereme King Odd-Eyes Pendulum variants of the original Dimension Dragons, Raging Dragon I think was supposed just be an Effect Monster instead of an Xyz one. Then Zarc not even having possession of any of the Supreme King Odd-Eyes Dragons while Yuya had all of it. If Zarc created Pendulum, it makes more sense that he would summon the Supreme King Odd-Eyes Dragons. The Supreme King Dragons were nice, but they really look underwhelming compared to the Supreme King Odd-Eyes ones.. And finally as of late, the newly revealed *Odd-Eyes Arc Pendulum Dragon* which is a Normal Monster, pretty much references the effect of the cards Ray used against Zarc by turning his Effect Monsters into Normal Monsters. Personally how I see it though, I think Odd-Eyes Arc Pendulum Dragon would have been Yuya's dragon after being freed from Zarc's influence and after Ray losing to the Revived Zarc. Given how attached Yuya is with his pendant, the dragon fusing with the pendant as a final wish also just seems to make more sense.

Arc-V always reminded me of GX. They both had protagonist that are more fun loving and goofy than thier counterparts. They both have the protagonist be the main villain with Judai being Haou and Yuya being Z-arc. They both have a period of time where the main character falls into a depression because if his actions when he was a villain. They both have a larger focus on past series with GX featuring Pegasis, Seto, Solomon Muto, etc and arc-V featuring well everyone mentioned in the video, compared to the original which couldn't and 5ds which makes no real reference to GX or the original series. They both also are divisive amongst fans. Gx got a lot of flak for Judai/ Jaden being too goofy and feeling more like a slice of life anime than the more drama/ mystery feeling in Yugioh!. Arc-V got a lot of flak for its ending and the plot being mishandled. Personally I felt both were good examples of good ideas with poor execution. Having main characters that end up being the villain is an interesting twist that works well with the contrast in character between Judai/ Haou and Yuya/Zarc. I also wish they focused more on Jaden's PTSD following the Dark Dimension arc. I also think Jaden x Alexis should've been more of a focus consider the tag competition arc in season 4. It would've given more weight to that conflict if they both had feelings for each other. Jaden being goofy made sense considering the Haou revelation but I think it could've been foreshadowed more. Same with Yubel. Something like Jaden being more aggressive in his duel with Titan and against the Dark Seekers could've been a good way to hint at there being more to his character and would've made sense given his backstory of having no friends thus being more protective of them than normal. Arc-V should've used characters from the original Yugioh and gave it it's own dimension. Versions of Seto and Joey would've been felt at home in Arc-V with Seto being somewhat like Jack and Joey acting like Alexis. I also think there should've been a mention of the original protagonists. Something like Z-arc killing them off when the multiverse was created to lessen the amount of people trying to beat him. I also would've had it end with the protagonists all bending together to defeat Z-arc because if you're gonna put that much focus onto the past series you might as well follow through with it. Although I will admit this does run the risk of the past season overshadowing the current seasons but I think by having them be defeated by Zarc and brought back at the last duel by something like Yuya splitting from Zarc because of him becoming his own person and gaining sentience outside of Zarc and having Yuri take over as Zarc's main personality giving he seems to already be the only version of Yuya with any of Zarc's character traits would've made more sense and given the series a less anticlimactic finish.
Jaden...I think they needed a change because his cards were fun but not competitive...So they pulled out all the stops to make him Anakin Skywalker turning into Darth Vader. Arc-V though...Yuya, despite the constant "smile" emphasis, comes off as someone much more lonely and insecure from the start. Arc-V's story...is rather overt in where its part of its source story is, and one source story is Final Fantasy VII. Cloud starts off like a bigshot SOLDIER only to find out he himself is a broken guy who has a screwed up identity, and that initial personality is literally him copying his more successful best friend. The game is basically that, as your "progress", Cloud deteriorates more and more and the whole journey is a "trap" and the real savior is Aerith and her spell Holy. The other anime is Evangelion. Ray's name doesn't look like an accident....Rei Ayanami being a pretty significant character.....and Leo Akaba being basically a Gendo. There's also Pokemon and Digimon. Fusion dimension could be an "unbrainwashed" perspective on what people actually do in Pokemon games. And the googles...Digimon lead....Serena might have had some Rika influence in her hair.
Also the duel judai vs darkness is a representation of how there was no right or wrong. Darkness saw the evil in humanity while Jaden was a being who lost all hope.

Arc V should have lasted 200 episodes 50 episodes per dimension. For Season 3, split it between Yuya and Yuzu having their own adventure. Yuya contends with Edo Phonix while Yuzu leads a rebellion in the Fusion arc. Yuzu Hiiragi must contend with an nemesis named Hell Kaiser Ryo. Yuzu must overcome this adversary to grow as a fighter and warrior and savior and proving that she has learned something sine losing to Sergey. That is how season 3 should've been. Reply to this and I can expand on this further

I would have no idea how to write a tv series with a 150 episode limit so I cannot say much about how to divy up stuff. All I can say is have a clear beginning, middle and end and stick to that formula. Otherwise you have Synchro lasting too long and not enough time to flesh out the Fusion and Xyz settings.

I honestly would've liked it if Kaiser was commander of chief, and Edo was second in command. I would've had Yuya vs Edo round two be like the one from the fanfic Bonds Beyond Pendulum, where Yuya speaks to Edo and the Academia soldiers about how they never learned what was truely right and wrong due to growing up in Academia and showing the Xyz residents that they are not the only victims of the dimensional war.

Minor fun facts: The backgrounds of the Yuya silhouettes is the same colour as each bracelet girls gem, if you bend it slightly with Yuzu. In I believe the first ending Yuya's holding four popsicles that has the same colours as the gems as well(and lead to alot of theorising that Ruri could be blonde). Also i always liked how each Yuboy was almost opposite in personality to the protagonist of the dimension/world they're from
Things I miss about Arc-V are people being positve about it. Yes, the ending was awful, worst ending to a Yugioh series...but that doesn't mean the entire show is bad,. I've said it before in Arc-V videos and I don't mind saying it again, Arc-V is still easily my favorite of the spin-offs, because of all the good things it had going for it.

It's just really tiring to see the same jokes 'Last time I was this earyl, Arc-V was still good' and generally the ending complains over and over again with no mention of other stuff. That would be like only focusing on post-Dark Signers filler for 5D's or early episode for Zexal.

As a rather big Arc V fan by myself, I cannot agree more with you. I even saw this shift from loving Arc V to hating it among my very friends- before the show ended we all loved it and appreciated it despite it flaws, and in some regard we loved it thanks to it's flaws. But after ep. 148, many of my friends got really disappointed by Arc V, and started to trash it hard. Not to a point to say that it was awful, but to a point that they all agreed in one voice that it was flawed beyond repair, and those flaws destroyed for them the good stuff that Arc V had (or at least after the end of the Standard arc). It was a very sad shift to witness, especially because we gave Arc V so much love and positive attention. Well, at least this show helped to bring all of us together in the very first place, and this is the most important thing.

If is by what I heard in Akibaranger, they do that in Super Sentai too where the good guys are always at the right side of the screen whenever they are about to beat the monsters or bad guys. Same happens when the bad guy is about to beat the sentai teams, they put him on the right. Something about kabuki theater. I should probably rewatch that episode entirely to remember exactly what he said.
Have you heard anything about Arc V's ending originally being different? Like referencing to a Japanese idiom or phrase or something like that? The only thing I could think is that the yu boys and yu girls were each split into 4 and 4 is an unlucky number in Japan? ARC-V couldn't been maybe the best arc but ironically i think its the worst. It had all the right elements in there and even a really good plot, but it ended up being a rushed ball of throw up all jumbled together.

There's another thing about the Mieru duel and forshadowing.
After Yuya Summons 5 Monsters, Mieru looks at each of them and tells them what each means. 4 of her readings are just referencing the fact that later on in that episode he will fall down and die, but for her last reading, which is Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon, she just says there's an aura of mystery around it.
Also, the coin toss in that duel to determine who goes first is not heads or tails, but rather Dragon and Demon. Yuya picks Dragon but Mieru reveals it to be a Demon and says this shows that Yuya is hungry for power.

As far as why no original Yugioh characters made it into Arc-V, I can think of a number of reasons. One might be maybe they didn't want legendary duelist like Kaiba or Joey losing to new characters. If any DM characters were in Arc-V they'd eventually lose to Yuri or Zarc. Another reason might be because they already had a movie going on. From that standpoint it does make more sense to use GX, 5Ds, and Xezal characters over them for Arc-V.
Yeah, but with the GX characters, they did not used LEGENDARY duelist too, just Alexis and Aster. Because I really doubt if they would make Zane and Jaden lose to some new characters tho... With 5Ds and Zexal on the other hand, used legendary duelist from their series... Lol
Yea both sides of the wall, not every Legacy Character could make it to the final plot anyways... Darkside of Dimensions being ongoing was just a major problem on top of scheduel problems...
On the other hand, in-universe, not everyone made the split clean, someone has to glue the dimensions together... or at least mix with Zarc depending on your interpritation.

I was devastated by ARC-V's ending. The series was so close to becoming my favourite Yu-Gi-Oh! series, but the final episodes were so incredibly lacklustre. I was kind of expecting a battle in the fifth dimension where Zarc's persona splits off or something due to the pendulum pendant or Ray dragging him out with her last bit of strength and then Yuuya gets Ray's cards through bullshit main character powers and the deus ex machina that is anime friendship and begins duelling, where he gradually severs each of his counterparts away by bringing their dragons to his side of the field and then they either all tag-team Zarc together or just give Yuuya emotional support or something.
I kinda wish they'd given Yuuri the evil cleansing treatment to make him change his outlook, too.
I think they wanted an unhappy ending...given that Final Fantasy VII and Evangelion neither had truly happy endings...and those two things, along with many other things, got Easter egg'd in this anime. But those two are the most in-your-face influences on the story. Sephiroth's "Reunion" and the projections in Advent Children, man obsessed with only one thing(Gendo). Same man neglects his other son(Declan/Reiji is Shinji Ikari). And well, Ray is Aerith and Rei Ayanami. (Star Wars with Palpatine, alien parasite movies, Jean-Luc Picard, Beethoven, Spaceballs--Lulu gives me Daphne Zuniga vibes, Pokemon-not just Sora's toy card but the concept of "carding" people, Digimon with the googles and Selena possibly having some basis on Rika from Tamers)
y'know, on the topic of foreshadowing: in Japanese, did you notice that Zarc was in control during the first episode?
if you listen to (and read if you're using subtitles) Yuya's Pendulum Summon chant, he says something completely different when he was in an Awakened state than he does as himself. the only reason it gets glossed over is specifically the fact that the next episode immediately follows that point, and it hints at him being at a haze afterward.
he doesn't quite remember what happened, and specifically doesn't know how to properly use Pendulum Summoning himself despite defeating the champion with it, and had to spend the night with Gongenzaka studying it.

Arc-V Jack was awsome. he played a sort of sub rival/teacher role for Yuya and he did it amazingly. he OTKed Yuya if my memory is not failing me. Together with Gongenzaka he was the only one who even got a second turn against Zarc, even getting some attacks of. He made Yuya shit bricks once or twice...
the idea behind zarc and the story was soooooo good D: all those little hints that something isnt right and everything...its still a real shame they dropped the good writing way too early :/
It was good because previous works made an impact first. Especially Final Fantasy 7. Yuya's journey might have been planned to be a Cloud Strife clone. Where his "successes" and journey ultimately leads to a surprising crash. The whole show is more than a Yu-gi-oh dimension mashup. It's a pop culture mashup. Digimon and Pokemon get a shoutout. And you could even interpret the Fusion dimension as aggressive Pokemon trainers catching humans instead of Pokemon. Roget got some Palpatine vibes, and "brainwashed microchips" is like Jango Fett's clones.

There was a cameo of a certain location that while yuya and friends were trapped in the XYZ dimension. It was the resistance base of operation. It was exactly like the home of Yuma's teacher Master Roku. And found it quite humorous how both Yuma and Yuya had pretty much the exact same reaction to the excessive amount of stairs they had to climb to reach the top.

There was also an easteregg about the Wii Game Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds Wheelie Breakers. I don't know exactly the episode, but it was during the prison mini arc in the Synchro Dimension. A security guy was playing a very similiar game on a mobil console.

It looked like Bastion and Atticus in the picture. Features of the face and shade of the hair make me think it’s Atticus Rhodes implied at least. Placement of judai vs darkness makes sense when the theory of night shroud knowing what would occur in the future being zero reverse.
Actually, Fudou Style Solitaire Theory might also be a reference to "Solitaire" decks in the Yugioh Card Game. Or a deck/style of play that most of the current competitive yugioh format falls under, you basically play a game of solitaire trying to build your "Board" to be unbreakable and on the next turn your opponent has to try and break it.
Continuing on this train of thought; Stardust Dragon decks can be really effective at this style of play, *especially* when restricted to Synchro summoning as the only means of, well I would say "extra deck summoning", however I'm fairly certain the Synchro event didn't allow neither Pendulum or Ritual summoning. Anyways that archetype belonging to Yusei Fudo and being capable of the solitaire playstyle is either a fascinating coincidental reference, or really clever.

Grayfox gr Jack didnt win the first, it was unfinished, and Yusei would have won. They dueled on Fortune cup where Yusei won. Then they dueled when Yusei wanted to duel without Synchroes and I think they didnt finish but Jack would surely win. They duel for the 4th time at the end when Yusei wins. No coincidences

It wasn't a good draw for him, Yuya had him beat until he played a card that forced a draw and saved him. I think it would have been more impressive had he forced Yuya to force a draw and Edo was about to win

I really liked all all the Duel Academy grunts used Ancient Gear cards like GX’s Crowler who was a teacher and all the Sector Security grunts used Goio cards like Trudge in 5D’s who was of course Sector Security. Also, kind of a neat choice having Sergei use Earthbound Immortals against Jack since those were the cards of the Dark Signers.
Well maybe jack dueled yuya the most fully.But I can count three instances in the first season of arc v where gong and yuya.At the very start of the show.When yuya pendulums for the second time.And as yuyas final duel to get to the tournament thingy.They probably dueled again sometime though.And if you count Zarc that’s another duel for gong.And Edos total duels against yuya is also three.

But... The whole point of Duel Monsters was that Yami or Atem lost to Yugi. I call that a protagonist losing. Seeing as how Atem and Hugo were functioning as separate protagonists for almost the entire last season. More legit than Yugis " loss" to Rebecca where he forfeited instead of playing his winning card so as to prove a point about his Gramps. Which was the real victory of that duel. To me, the main character of DM was Yugi, not Atem. Although, I also consider them to be one spirit so there was no real loser in that final duel. And Yugi technically lost to Rebecca, if a baseball team is winning 60 - 0 and then surrender in the 8th inning, they lost, simple as that. At the end of the day, it's all just for fun, no need to get upset about it lol
Yugioh Everything Okay it is your question but you completely missed the point of both his duel with Rebecca and the entire show. The show was about Yami finding his past and Yugi getting the strength to stand on his own. And as you pointed out Yami did lose that duel so even if you wrongly assume they are the same person he would have both lost and won. And like you said, losing is still losing. Although I wouldn't call letting the angry kid beat you to avoid a tantrum losing, and everyone on the show admonishes Rebecca and pretty much unanimously declares Yugi the de facto winner. Also, I'm not triggered so much as sleep deprived, driving folks to the airport at three in the morning sucks, but your video DID help me stay awake, so thanks for that. :)

I think it stupid how out of all the 5d characters the people who make this show choose to make an cameo appearance it has to be a bunch of unimportant filler characters, like that fat guy in a yellow business suit that duel Jack in an filler episode, that clown guy, and for some stupid reason they even give an cameo appearance to Dexter , not Leo and Luna who were kind of main characters to their series or hell even Akiza , the give to the friend of Leo and Luna , just to reference them , but not to give them anything as good as screen appearance in another series

Indeed... I have the very same idea about those cards and some more...
*Performapal Odd-Eyes Synchro* too was probably supposed to have appeared in the Synchro Arc, back when ARC-V was still introducing elements of the previous shows into it's episodes, instead of appearing so late into the show.
Additionally, *Odd-Eyes Lancer Dragon* was most probably meant for the Yuya to use from the start in order to gain absolute advantage over his enemies during Action Duels when they were crossing dimensions. Given that it's effects of preventing Spell Card activation when it attacks, it makes less sense to appear so late into the show . I can see Reiji giving him Lancer Dragon specially when you recall that the Lancer's main advantage were Action Duels and Pendulum Cards.
Also, *Odd-Eyes Raging Dragon*... consistency-wise it makes no sense for it to be an Xyz-Pendulum since Odd-Eyes Rebellion Dragon already fills that role. Given how the other dragons were Supereme King Odd-Eyes Pendulum variants of the original Dimension Dragons, Raging Dragon I think was supposed just be an Effect Monster instead of an Xyz one.
Then Zarc not even having possession of any of the Supreme King Odd-Eyes Dragons while Yuya had all of it. If Zarc created Pendulum, it makes more sense that he would summon the Supreme King Odd-Eyes Dragons. The Supreme King Dragons were nice, but they really look underwhelming compared to the Supreme King Odd-Eyes ones..
And finally as of late, the newly revealed *Odd-Eyes Arc Pendulum Dragon* which is a Normal Monster, pretty much references the effect of the cards Ray used against Zarc by turning his Effect Monsters into Normal Monsters. Personally how I see it though, I think Odd-Eyes Arc Pendulum Dragon would have been Yuya's dragon after being freed from Zarc's influence and after Ray losing to the Revived Zarc. Given how attached Yuya is with his pendant, the dragon fusing with the pendant as a final wish also just seems to make more sense.

SO THAT'S WHY YUTO'S AND YUGO'S VOICE ACTORS WHERE IDENTICAL!! I saw a promotion duel of Yuto and Yugo's voice actors vs Jack's voice actor and when Yugo entered I was like "what the hell! This is Yuto!"
Arc-V always reminded me of GX. They both had protagonist that are more fun loving and goofy than thier counterparts. They both have the protagonist be the main villain with Judai being Haou and Yuya being Z-arc. They both have a period of time where the main character falls into a depression because if his actions when he was a villain. They both have a larger focus on past series with GX featuring Pegasis, Seto, Solomon Muto, etc and arc-V featuring well everyone mentioned in the video, compared to the original which couldn't and 5ds which makes no real reference to GX or the original series. They both also are divisive amongst fans. Gx got a lot of flak for Judai/ Jaden being too goofy and feeling more like a slice of life anime than the more drama/ mystery feeling in Yugioh!. Arc-V got a lot of flak for its ending and the plot being mishandled.
Personally I felt both were good examples of good ideas with poor execution. Having main characters that end up being the villain is an interesting twist that works well with the contrast in character between Judai/ Haou and Yuya/Zarc. I also wish they focused more on Jaden's PTSD following the Dark Dimension arc. I also think Jaden x Alexis should've been more of a focus consider the tag competition arc in season 4. It would've given more weight to that conflict if they both had feelings for each other. Jaden being goofy made sense considering the Haou revelation but I think it could've been foreshadowed more. Same with Yubel. Something like Jaden being more aggressive in his duel with Titan and against the Dark Seekers could've been a good way to hint at there being more to his character and would've made sense given his backstory of having no friends thus being more protective of them than normal. Arc-V should've used characters from the original Yugioh and gave it it's own dimension. Versions of Seto and Joey would've been felt at home in Arc-V with Seto being somewhat like Jack and Joey acting like Alexis. I also think there should've been a mention of the original protagonists. Something like Z-arc killing them off when the multiverse was created to lessen the amount of people trying to beat him. I also would've had it end with the protagonists all bending together to defeat Z-arc because if you're gonna put that much focus onto the past series you might as well follow through with it. Although I will admit this does run the risk of the past season overshadowing the current seasons but I think by having them be defeated by Zarc and brought back at the last duel by something like Yuya splitting from Zarc because of him becoming his own person and gaining sentience outside of Zarc and having Yuri take over as Zarc's main personality giving he seems to already be the only version of Yuya with any of Zarc's character traits would've made more sense and given the series a less anticlimactic finish.
Jaden...I think they needed a change because his cards were fun but not competitive...So they pulled out all the stops to make him Anakin Skywalker turning into Darth Vader.
Arc-V though...Yuya, despite the constant "smile" emphasis, comes off as someone much more lonely and insecure from the start. Arc-V's story...is rather overt in where its part of its source story is, and one source story is Final Fantasy VII. Cloud starts off like a bigshot SOLDIER only to find out he himself is a broken guy who has a screwed up identity, and that initial personality is literally him copying his more successful best friend. The game is basically that, as your "progress", Cloud deteriorates more and more and the whole journey is a "trap" and the real savior is Aerith and her spell Holy.
The other anime is Evangelion. Ray's name doesn't look like an accident....Rei Ayanami being a pretty significant character.....and Leo Akaba being basically a Gendo.
There's also Pokemon and Digimon. Fusion dimension could be an "unbrainwashed" perspective on what people actually do in Pokemon games. And the googles...Digimon lead....Serena might have had some Rika influence in her hair.
