I did play around with that idea for my anime fanfic universe, but Yuya didn't dual Zane alone, he was assisted by 2 of the Yusho Dual School FD's top student, who just so happen to be this world's Jaden and Syrus.
Zane is my favorite character but if he was going to be handled like Aster where he got literally no wins then it was a blessing he wasn't in the show.
Well if he was in the show, like this, I would imagine he at least would've picked up some wins against random opponents in the xyz era. Maybe he could've been beating Yuto and Shun and about to card them right before Kaito shows up, and stops him from doing so.
I think that the writers had already gotten to a point somewhere in GX even that they didn't really care about Aster (and Alexis) anymore, and Arc-V was just even more of giving the middle finger to them. But with Zane, I think they might have possibly treated him a little better. I still didn't want to find out though, so I'm glad he didn't show up in Arc-V.
Kaiser should've taken Battle Beast's place in the Fusion arc, defending Academia against the Lancers. Kaiser is the one who defeats Tsukikage, Crow, and Gongenzaka (in actual on-screen duels!) That way he is established as a major threat. Ultimately, I'd rather have Reiji be the one to ultimately defeat Kaiser rather than Yuya. Reiji really needed more duels, and it would've given the rival a major win. Plus, how awesome would Reiji vs Kaiser be?
My take: Zane was big when the war started so everyone knew about him, but somewhere down the line after encountering Kaito he realized that what he's doing is wrong since Kaito lost his brother and Zane could relate somehow (idk just bear with me).So zane adopts nova and infinity as his new Ace monsters but as he's defecting he's attacked by fusion dim. soldiers and after a draw out battle he sacrifices himself so Kaito can escape and Kaito's wanted since he's the only one who knows "the truth" and refuses to join the rebellion since he could endanger them and so he keeps on hunting down the fusion dim. guys alone. Only reason they used Zane as a martyr was because he was well known and respected by everyone and it would surely create a divide should the truth that he defected be revealed or if he were to be "erased" from history since he was so well know. idk..3 Bottles of gin just made this up, hope yall enjoy
No, this theory does have some weight to it. Cyber Dragon Nova and Infinity were printed near the Arc-V era and Nova's effect allows you to bring out a Fusion monster in its place. While I didn't think much of this effect before, with this theory, it makes quite a bit of sense. And this would help explain why not many, if any GX era archetypes got XYZ support, nevermind the fact the Nova's power is linked to Fusion monsters.
If you add Mizar into that as well as a rival of Kaito, then have MIzar defect as he was originally an evil character. So him and zane do a switcheroo, maybe Mizar cards Zane and then Kaito cards Mizar so loses an old friend and a new friend at the same time. That being said I don't see Zane losing to Mizar.
Imo Zain should've been the one to return because his nova and infinity are actual cards,cards that can be explained by this very fact. Maybe he utilises XYZ to destroy the XYZ dimension as a way to mock them,in his hell Kaiser ideal he lost respect so maybe Yuya can teach him to respect his opponent or something idk...
Yeah I think a storyline with Zane would have been incredible. I'd like to think that this theory is what happened, but it certainly would have been better if they kept him alive and present

Yeah I literally play Cyber's because I love Zane as a Character so much. Note I love Duel academy Zane from GX not Hell Kaiser or this one Mentioned in the anime. I wanted to be just like him! He was calm Cool Collective a Brilliant Strategist and he had un shakeable honor. He was literally what everyone at a young age who played Yu-Gi-Oh wanted to be. Some may have pointed in the direction of People like Jaden but honestly he would never make it as a Professional Yu-Gi-Oh player in real life, only people like Zane Alexis and Bastion would. So yeah I Kinda Ranted about this but He is Easily my favorite character in the series and I feel he doesn't deserve the treatment he got overall after he left duel academy and lost to aster and in arc V.
Honestly that theory makes so much since. I thought you were going to bring up Zane dying in season 3 but him getting carded in the heartland invasion makes us more realistic
After seeing this video for the first time months ago I came to the conclusion that I’d have loved to have seen a slightly older, battle scarred version of Syrus Truesdale in the Arc V anime. That probably sounds odd I know, but hear me out here... Ever since I first watched this video it clicked with me that he could’ve been perfect for the Fusion war dynamic. Perhaps further empathising that war has hurt a lot of good people on both sides and showing how war and loss can change even the kindest and most well meaning of people. I’ve always thought that a vengeful Syrus who witnessed the demise of his brother at the hands of Kite or even better Yuto would have been great. I imagine that while he’d been grieving the loss of his brother he might have even been visited by Leo Akaba and convinced to rejoin the war effort to avenge his fallen brothers death. I mean just imagine him getting mad every time he saw one of Yuto’s counterparts, also Syrus vs Yugo (Roids vs Speedroids)... now THAT would have been a cool duel to see. To give a clear idea I’m picturing a GX season 4 looking Syrus, but more battle hardened, with his glasses cracked on one side and a scar across one eye... I imagine he’d have been tirelessly hunting and carding duellists from the XYZ dimension in an attempt to bait Yuto/Kite out after what they did, so he’d look very worn down. It could show flashbacks of a sort of friendship between him and Yuri as a nice callback to his relationship with Jaden in GX showing Yuri being perplexed as to how somebody could respect him, but out of friendship rather than fear. It could have even showed Yuri’s character in a different light as well with some flashbacks showing their dynamic together in the past, having Yuri go from not feeling he needed a friend in Syrus to actually enjoying his company. I imagine Alexis would probably mention how ‘’he used to be such a sweet kid before what happened to his brother’’ at some point as well, maybe leading to one of the flashbacks I mentioned. Perhaps he’d be dawning the same or a similar duel blazer to the one we saw Dark Zane wearing in GX after his fall from grace in the pro leagues. I know Syrus isn’t the most popular character in the Yugioh Anime, but I think this could’ve been a cool dynamic that they could have added into Arc V for some extra flavour and story telling. It's a decent idea; certainly would've added much-needed layers to the characters listed. Sure would've been nice if the legacy characters revived were based on "celebrating the legacy" or "fixing past mistakes" or "cool new spins" instead of "I love these guys! It certainly would have been nice to see more varied cast with a deeper, possibly even darker and more emotional plot than we ultimately ended up getting, but I guess there’s no changing it now. I’m not sure that this is very likely at this point, but I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed that Konami will get the picture and make a release a deeper and more impactful series or video game somewhere down the line. Honestly I feel like what could really help them out right now is just making a proper video game, perhaps a similar style to that of Jump Force, that could catch people off guard and bring new interest back to the franchise as a whole. Hell... even porting some of their older video games like the Yugioh Tag Force series and/or Yugioh Forbidden Memories to the newer consoles, perhaps in bundles similarly to how Capcom has been re-releasing their games from the Mega-Man series in recent years. I honestly feel like them capitalising on any of these suggestions could help them out a ton, as well as getting them some much needed publicity for and from the series.
Whilst that would be very cool, it seems that the siblings of the legacy character's simply just didn't exist, seeing as Atticus and Hart are never seen in Arc V despite Alexis and Kite being there
I like to think that if Arc-V had gone on long enough they'd have introduced Zane as an antagonist and turned him into a protagonist, through the use of Cyber Dragon Nova and Infinity to symbolise his change of stance. It would also work very nicely in parallel to his stance change in GX, from being a respectable duelist to being an outright monster in GX and going in the complete opposite direction for Arc-V.
It could possible Zane already died from an alternate Yubel type of thing. He’s still legendary. If you remember from GX he was an idol in Duel Academy up until he became Hell Kaiser. They also watched his first pro match against Edo in duel academy. It makes sense.
People ragged on it because it looked childish and cartoonish but this show was pretty hard core. Of course my favorites are 5ds and zexal but arc v deserved way better.
Arc-V was honestly one of the better ones. Yuya was fine and the plot was great (the ending was rushed and the last 8-10 episodes of Season 3 should've been its own season imo, but overall it was good).
Too bad Axel never appeared in Arc-V, otherwise we would have had more Volcanic support than just Blaze Accelerator Reload... Day 357.5 of waiting for New Volcanic Support to arrive
The problem is this axel was never an Academya student in gx he had his own academy so it will not make any sense for him being in arc v and working with the Academy at least aster became a part of the Academy back in gx
Honestly, I'm kinda glad that Zane didn't appear in Arc-V. The Gx legacy characters got terrible treatment, so he most likely would have the same fate as Asuka and Edo.
ikr!? Edo/Aster and Asuka/Alexis are two of my favorite characters in GX, but I did not like how Arc-V handled them. I'm glad they left Ryo/Zane out of this.
Alexis/Asuka was handled great up until Yuri took her out. It's a badass moment for Yuri, but they should've used an original character for him to do that fake out reversal thing on. If Yuri and Alexis/Asuka would've dueled with Yuri using his own deck, and if they would've just gave Alexis a "respectful" death in the show, then it'd have been fine. Edo/Aster I honestly thought was handled fine as is. The only complaint I have is that he used mostly the same cards across all duels - but really, that's a criticism I have with most of the Arc-V cast. I don't want magical BS asspull cards, but I'm not thrilled about the "using the same 10 cards every match" or "using the same 3 card combo to win every match" things they do in the shows. Gimme more variety.
@@jaernihiltheus7817 With Alexis, it was really just more her plot that sort of bored me. Idk, I just wasn't into it for some reason. It wasn't horrible, but I think they could have done more with her. But what they did to Aster was just stupid. Ok, I know these aren't their GX selves and that Aster changed his ways eventually (thank god). But having the character who was all for justice before be into turning people into cards and the whole thing against Yuya's dad and following the professor at all just didn't sit well with me. If GX Aster could have seen what his Arc-V counterpart was doing, I'm sure he would have been disgusted. And the fact that they couldn't even show him win ONE f**king duel was really annoying. When they make characters that just never win, or even almost never win, it's like they are just spitting on them. Same with how Sawatari/Sylvio became a joke. It's like, what is the point? If they're trying to sell me that a character is a powerful duelist, that isn't the way to do it. And Aster and Alexis didn't even get any interaction despite being the only two GX characters in Arc-V, and that was just stupid like it was in GX. I get that Aster is not a popular or probably even a liked character nowadays, but he didn't deserve this.
I wonder if Zane, isn’t alone in being a victim of Kite. It could explain where characters like Hasselberry, Cyrus and Chazz are, dead too. Maybe when Kite targeted Zane, Zane got backup from his little brother, Chazz and Hasselberry. The three tried to take on Kite all at once but Kite beat them all, that mental image is pretty scary to be honest especially since I have a soft spot for Hasselberry(his Dino cards were some of my favourites early on). It’d also explain characters like Axel, Jessie and Jim’s absence maybe they all were victims of Kite, it would certainly make Kite’s feared reputation among the Obelisk Force a lot more valid if Zane was simple the biggest profile duelist he beat.
We just got to see the actual effects of the rush duel cards, all the monsters have soft once per turn effects, and currently only one effect per monster. We also have spell and trap cards AND AN EXTRA DECK( my bet is that the first extra deck summon either goes to Romin, or she duels someone who uses the extra deck first, then pulls out her own boss)
Unless Of course... Zane Tried to Rebel, but Leo Carded him and told everyone He was defeated by The Xyz Dimension... Thus prompting the Initial Attack on Xyz... but that's just a Theory...
Okay, I can back this up. Cyber Dragon Nova is how we can prove this. In the actual card game, Cyber Dragon Nova was released about a month before Arc-V aired, so did a lot of other cards that had a lot of level manipulation (See: Cyber Dragon Drei and Cyber Dragon Herz). It's entirely possible that he realized that they were the bad guys, and tried to rebel and got carded as a result. Cyber Dragon Infinity was also released later during the Arc-V anime, and it could have easily gotten a showcase during the time. Your theory is actually sound and valid. Given how Kurosaki/Shay is only hostile and only actively cards Fusion users that were from Fusion Dimension specifically. Given how even Yuto doesn't go nuts at how Yuzu is using Fusion, it's possible that they know that not all Fusion users are evil. Without any real mention of Syrus/Ryo, it's possible that he had no real connection to anyone before going to Xyz. Since he has an Xyz Evolution with an omni-negate, it's hard to believe that Kaito could have beaten him, with how limited his overall card pool of getting out his Xyz boss monsters is, Kite would have not been that well-equipped to beat him (though admittedly, that would have made his victory all the more impressive). Plus, a lot of the Cipher monsters are Machine monsters (See: Cipher Wing and Cipher Twin Raptor), and Chimeratech can use those enemy machines to bring out a big monster, which makes Kite's victory over him a little less likely. But a Fusion user with multiple ways of recovering Polymerization and the materials, or even alternate ways of Fusion summoning?- that kind of person has a bigger shot at beating him. Especially a character who can attack a bunch of Special Summoned monsters, nuke the field, alter enemy levels, change enemy attributes, and use enemy monsters as Fusion material. Yuri is likely to have defeated him. Or even Aster/Edo. With how he defeated him pretty soundly back in GX, it's possible that he was the sacrificial lamb (Or I guess the scapegoat) that was sacrificed to prompt the anti-Xyz rhetoric that Fusion used during their invasion. And with how ruthless Kite was, it's possible that he sees Fusion as irredeemable since they're so willing to attack and card one of their own. Him defeating Kurosaki/Shun and then refusing to card him is possibly because he just realized that he was turning into what he was fighting against. He does decide to help out the Lancers after that initial duel after all, so it's possible that maybe Shay and Yuto were friends with Zane (Maybe making his facade into the real deal), and after seeing that both his old friend, and the guy that his other friend chose to wield his dragon (Dark Rebellion) were fighting Fusion, he opted to go after them to avenge an old rival.

@@saintvgk7747 Well, there's that, and the fact that in Zexal, characters like Shark, Alito, Quattro, and Trey were all character affected by their interactions with Barrian World/Astral World (or in the case of Shark and Alito, were direct residents of Barrian World). Without those worlds, they don't exist, or at the very least, they wouldn't exist as the characters we'd know them as. Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon was made by harnessing the energies of Astral World, hence why the "true form" of the monster is Number 62: Galaxy-Eyes Prime Photon Dragon. Without Numbers, the characters of Shark, the Arclight family, and the Barrian Emperors don't really exist as we would have normally known them. But Kite _does_ have something unrelated to them, making him the only one who could have realistically appeared. It's hard to imagine a Chronomaly or a Gimmick Puppet deck without Numbers, and it's really hard to think of a way that Quinton's Dyson Sphere deck could have been done without its signature Number. Retrains are a thing, but given how iconic their Numbers are, it's not exactly easy to see them as being useful without them. If anything, without Numbers, those guys were probably among the first to fall since they wouldn't have access to heavy hitters like Shark Drake, Machu Mech, Giant Grinder, Star Cestus, or Dyson Sphere. Though, it is kinda fun to theorize about what they'd be like in Arc-V and what decks they'd run. I like to imagine that Shark would have a Black Ray Lancer retrain, and have an archetype-exclusive Rank-Up card that paired with another Rank 4 that gained effects depending on whether it had a "Ray Lancer" or a "Shark" Xyz monster as material.

Yay another infamous Yu-Gi-Oh Everything theory! Love them and you've completely convinced me and now I desperately want to see a Rio Vs Kaito duel. It's me best friends favourite character (Kaito) against one of mine. This would be the greatest duel ever (maybe behind Sora Vs Shun).
I think Zane maybe tried to help the Heartland, Zane used Xyz monsters (Cyber Dragon Nova and Infinity) . Academia probably kept quiet, because everyone look up for him. But then again, Zane didn't really care for a cause, and when he became Hell Kaiser he dueled to crush his enemies. I can go both ways in this theory, he was an unpredictable character. Edo ,Yuri, Kurosaki, Yuto or Kite has a chance of defeat him.
11:05 After hearing you say that I actually went through every Xyz monster in the game and you’re right. There’s a couple of one-off cards that fit that criteria, for example Toadally Awesome would’ve probably been used by that Obelisk Blue girl with the frog deck, and then there’s Red-Eyes Flare Metal Dragon that would’ve been used by Aticus. (Even though Joey had Red-Eyes Black Dragon first, Aticus used the Red-Eyes archtype, whereas Joey didn’t.) There’s also that new Jinzo - Layered monster that would’ve been used by the guy in season 4 with the psycho-style deck (funnily enough, a deck that rivals cyber-style). There is an Xyz version of Dark Armed Dragon which could’ve been used by Chazz. He didn’t use Dark Armed but he did use the other Armed Dragons, so a bit of a stretch. Another loose one would be Magi Magi Magician Gal that could’ve been used by the spirit of Dark Magician Girl in that one episode of GX, as she used a lot of female magicians in her deck. Ultimately however, these are all just single cards that happen to be a part of somebody’s deck. Your point of Nova and Infinity being some of the few Xyz monsters in an archtype used by a GX character is absolutely true. The closest I could find to match that statement would be those 3 Vampire Xyz monsters, which would’ve been used by Camula. (Again, coincidentally, somebody related to Zane as she was one of the few people to beat him on screen.) Great video by the way!
Maybe because the new cyber dragon deck was holding xyz monsters and the show was focusing on fusion summoning for duel academy characters, it could have been hilarious if Zane used both fusion and xyz monsters 😅
Kaito is pretty much if not the strongest, at least one of the most strongest YGO rivals, at least as he is in Zexal. So him winning Kaizer wouldn't be surprising, even though he is less op in Arc-V. Also fun fact, I originally assumed Kaizer would be thw returning character from GX along with Edo before they announced them during Arc-V's airing.
I like the Idea of Zane/Ryo staying "evil" after his underground stuff and him working therefore for Academia, but the only thing that I dont really like is that Cyber Dragon Nova/Infinity are Cyber Dragons instead of Chimeratech Monsters. The Chimeratechs visualized the idea of Dark Zane/Ryo in my opinion, and that these are Cyber Dragons would show me that he somehow learned that the Xyz Dimension is a respect worthy place or something like that. But you can expend that thing into the same results if youre creative enough haha xD
hey Yugioh Everything, your theory about how Kite is the most likely duelist who took down Zane also holds a lot of water because in both GX and Zexal, Jaden nor Yuma ever defeated Zane or Kite. the only way the duels ended was because of defeat or draw.

ULGROTHA you seem pretty smart, going out of your way to explain that, so it should be safe to assume you know about ten literary technique called hyperbole, although if you didn’t to summarise it is to claim something obviously false as true in order to exaggerate something. Usually when people describe something as literally being in a certain way it is done with the intention of adding emphasis to the point being made. And to go soft/hard is shorthand language (slang) for the intensity someone puts into an action, where going soft would be taking it easy on someone and going hard would be say summoning an orbital canon to obliterate your opponent because you were so pissed at them, incidentally hitting with enough impact to severely damage a whole stadium raceway.
To this day I'm still pissed that best girl akiza was nowhere to be seen in arc v and the fact that season 3 was rushed and the ending didn't help either still salty to this day man 😤😤😤
To say that I hadn't even remotely considered this or thought about it, I love this theory, and the thought of a Zane vs Kite duel is mouth-watering, even though I prefer Kite's Photon deck to his Cipher one. Also, I saw a couple of comments saying Zane could never have been a spy, but I would disagree - if we remember GX S3, he was clearly capable of disguising himself, as seen when he infiltrated the Supreme King's castle with Aster & Axel (they were only discovered because the shield deliberately gave Chaos Sorceror an answer that gave away the fact they were spies) and even before that when he was wearing his hooded cloak to conceal his identity. Obviously the legacy characters are not the same as the original articles, but we can see that their personalities are still very similar, such as Crow looking out for the kids, Kite's ruthlessness & Jack's ego. TL; DR it's not a stretch to suggest Zane was a spy in the XYZ dimension too, especially if he believed strongly enough in the Professor's regime to follow orders.
I just found your channel and this video and it actually makes a lot of sense for Zane. I’d imagine that Zane doesn’t have the Cyber Legacy( CD, CT Dragon, and Cyber End) or the cyber dark series since a maybe they are destroyed or Some other reason. So that’s why he has CD Zwei, Drei, and Vier(2,3,4) CD core having replicas/ new ones made. He definitely would have His other spells and traps but use all the Chimeratech dragons since they are all dark and need “cyber dragon”. He probably even killed Shepard and maybe even Syrus since Syrus definitely wouldn’t have the spine for the war. Zane would have been a complete maniac with probably the highest kill count of all. Also I say Zane doesn’t have the Cyber Legacy because it makes no sense to say “Chimeratech and Gating” are what he’s known for when Cyber End is right there and Arc-V usually makes differences between the counterparts.Its really sad they don’t bring him there, maybe at least a duel bot or someone getting the Z-One treatment and making a person become Zane like Zone did Yusei. It would have been amazing to see Zane ripping people apart.

Kaito probably figured Zane was a spy because any duel Zane was in before the invasion he probably summoned a cyber fusion monster with the effect of cyber dragon nova
It makes sense that it'd be different versions Aster was influenced by his dad, Jaden and Sartorius in GX none of whome were in Arc V Crows main relations came from Yusei Jack had a fusion in 5DS deck And so did Alexis in her GX deck
I do find interesting that none of the original protags were in arc V. But my theory on that is they were all wiped out from history due to the world splitting and then time went back to bring back other important figures like jack.
Okay, now I really wish we saw that Duel. Although, I personally don't feel like Zane would have died due to carding, but he would have actually died. Because if Arc V's Zane was as crazy as he was in season 2, then I'm confident he would have had Kite Duel him while they both wore electric collars and he would have succumbed to his injuries afterward, and this would help fuel Kite's hatred for Fusion if they turned Duels into the nightmare that is Underground Dueling of GX.
I dont want to think about Zane dying and losing to anyone because Zane always comes out on top. Zane would of beat Yubel but no Jaden had to be the one since he is the main protagonist of yugioh gx
But I like the idea of zane challenging kaito to a duel while wearing shock collars. And after the duel is finished they both collapse and die. That to me would be a more fitting conclusion!
I dont would say zane have to lose it could be possible that he win but the fight was to much for him and he dies by a heart attack (like almost in the fight with yubel or the psy dude) , using his last strength to make his very last move, win, smile, fall to the ground and die, leave his opponent pissed as hell because he will never get a revenge to win against zane.
I’m honestly glad that he’s not in yugioh arc v because I would hate to see him get bested by say yuri or someone like that when he’s got a way better deck and only would lose because plot armour also he would have to lose to Yuya as well and I would fucking hate to see that because if it was a real duel ZANE WOULD DESTROY HIM

Knowing we may never see Zane again kinda hurts, he's one of me favourite characters from any show. I love your theory, though it's sad to think he may have reverted back to his Hell Kaiser phase. Personally I've always liked the cool, calm and collected Zane from the first season. I hope Zane, or the very least Syrus, make a return
The fact that in the one of the scrapped ideas for Arc-V had Zane sent to XYZ Dimension as a spy for Duel Academy along with Dennis, Johan(maybe) along with Aster but met Yusho from his meeting with him he realized the error of his ways and he reached out to Aster in order to hopefully defect Duel Academy alongside him and I bet Johan did too because he loved entertaining the crowd like Dennis but saw the horrors of DA and decided to fight back against them,I think Syrus was willing to defect along with his big bro. I think Zane was one of the few chosen to infiltrate the XYZ Dimension, where he like Dennis learned how to use XYZ Monsters. And he had been found out by people of that Dimension and was eventually taken down

Like what if Kaito and hell Kaiser were friends using only xyz monsters, and then Kaiser went crazy after he opened the portal to for the fusion soldiers and kaito fought him and adopted the brutal fighting style to defeat hell Kaiser
So Zaine was in first line and fight Kaito... Zane summon Cyber End Dragon Next turn Kaito summon Galaxy Eyes and take Cyber End Dragon... yeah it can be a nice battle
I like to write little "fan-made" duels between characters (with real cards, if possible), but with anime support if there weren't enough irl cards. It'd be REALLY fun to write a Kaito-vs-Zane duel (Ciphers with the anime cards and Zane with the non-GX Cyber Dragon support, given how much there is now)

Ryo had prolly passed away way before Arc V started. I doubt Kaito would be a match against him and if Academia says he is indeed legendary, then he must be beyond his level. Like the other said if he died of a heart attack, then yah it is a high probability since he'd be too overpowered to take on most of Arc V level duelists. Even then Cyber Dragon Nova made it just as a cameo and it is likely that his cards were passed on to others in Standard Dimension after splitting.
Probably a heart attack, again. If he's using a dark cyber dragon like Rampage, I can see him also using Cyberdarks. I can envision him going big and dying before the final blow. This would probably leave Kaito's rage un-quenched . Hell, or even better: Ryo easily takes out Faker, while hunting for Kaito, then kidnaps Hart. During a duel with Kaito he backs him into a corner with Infinity and Cyberdark Dragon. Kaito is able to turn the tables after Hart dies, giving him the last of his power, allowing him to somehow summon Neo-Galaxy Eyes then attacking for game.
If Kaito did beat the Hell Kaiser, I find it hard to believe that he did it with Ciphers. Cyber Dragons would tear through that trash like wet toilet paper. Photons on the other hand...
See I could see Aster being the one who carded Zane. Zane could have seen what the Fusion dimension was doing and ended up taking up the XYZ cards against Aster but ultimately lost and was carded. Aster then passes the blame to the resistance as a rallying cry for the others from Duel academy to fight harder and the reason they hate kite is cause he basically is their leader so they figure that he's to blame.

Subscribing! Awesome Theory!! Speaking of Zane, What is The Cyber Legacy? What was the Cyber Emergency? (..Really check out that card Cyber Emergency. There's some dragons surrounding what looks like Jade Knight. Also Delta Tri and Trigon are the first Yugioh cards to equip Dragon's with machines through via UNION equipping.) Was this the origin of how Cyberdarks absorb dragons? Yugioh seems to have a lot of Dimensions and what seems like multiple universes. I think the Cyber Legacy is what needs to come full circle with the Cyber Archetype/Cyberdarks imo.
Also in Yugioh Arc V Season 3 Episode 2, Kite says that “words can deceive, lies cost me too much and now I trust no one” maybe Zane/Ryo was a double agent like Dennis
What if Zane attacked Xyz dimension with the invasion but then he found out Nova and Infinity and abandoned everything and attacked everyone. So Proffessor discarded him before everyone noticed that he gone crazy with power of Xyz. The reason that Proffessor did not used Zane because he told others that he died in the Xyz dimension and he become too unstable to use.
Small thing, but it makes sense how the monsters mentioned on the board are rampage dragon and gatling dragon instead of cyber end and cyberdark because he gave that deck to Syrus at the end of GX so wouldn't have used them in the war for the fusion dimension
Something else that could have happened is Zane saw how wrong it was to take out xyz and was carded before anyone could find out so he could be used to inspire others to be loyal

Yugioh Everything Believe you’re talking about Lawton. His signature card was Gatling Ogre. However Gatling dragon is the fusion card of Barrel and Blowback dragon respectively. Meaning Gatling dragon is Bandit Keith card. But yes weird choice.
What if he died of his Health. Zane is dueling kite, life points drop to zero, ending his life since his heart couldn’t take a huge hit from galaxy-eyes.
Imagine how the Fusion arc would have gone if Zane was there. He would have thrashed Yuya just as easily as Jack Atlas did in their first duel.

I did play around with that idea for my anime fanfic universe, but Yuya didn't dual Zane alone, he was assisted by 2 of the Yusho Dual School FD's top student, who just so happen to be this world's Jaden and Syrus.

Well if he was in the show, like this, I would imagine he at least would've picked up some wins against random opponents in the xyz era. Maybe he could've been beating Yuto and Shun and about to card them right before Kaito shows up, and stops him from doing so.
I think that the writers had already gotten to a point somewhere in GX even that they didn't really care about Aster (and Alexis) anymore, and Arc-V was just even more of giving the middle finger to them. But with Zane, I think they might have possibly treated him a little better. I still didn't want to find out though, so I'm glad he didn't show up in Arc-V.

Kaiser should've taken Battle Beast's place in the Fusion arc, defending Academia against the Lancers. Kaiser is the one who defeats Tsukikage, Crow, and Gongenzaka (in actual on-screen duels!) That way he is established as a major threat.
Ultimately, I'd rather have Reiji be the one to ultimately defeat Kaiser rather than Yuya. Reiji really needed more duels, and it would've given the rival a major win. Plus, how awesome would Reiji vs Kaiser be?
My take: Zane was big when the war started so everyone knew about him, but somewhere down the line after encountering Kaito he realized that what he's doing is wrong since Kaito lost his brother and Zane could relate somehow (idk just bear with me).So zane adopts nova and infinity as his new Ace monsters but as he's defecting he's attacked by fusion dim. soldiers and after a draw out battle he sacrifices himself so Kaito can escape and Kaito's wanted since he's the only one who knows "the truth" and refuses to join the rebellion since he could endanger them and so he keeps on hunting down the fusion dim. guys alone. Only reason they used Zane as a martyr was because he was well known and respected by everyone and it would surely create a divide should the truth that he defected be revealed or if he were to be "erased" from history since he was so well know. idk..3 Bottles of gin just made this up, hope yall enjoy

What if Kaito turned Zane into a card for revenge?
No, this theory does have some weight to it. Cyber Dragon Nova and Infinity were printed near the Arc-V era and Nova's effect allows you to bring out a Fusion monster in its place. While I didn't think much of this effect before, with this theory, it makes quite a bit of sense. And this would help explain why not many, if any GX era archetypes got XYZ support, nevermind the fact the Nova's power is linked to Fusion monsters.
Don't forget that Zane is a masquerade like Dennis. (You know what i mean Entermage).
If you add Mizar into that as well as a rival of Kaito, then have MIzar defect as he was originally an evil character. So him and zane do a switcheroo, maybe Mizar cards Zane and then Kaito cards Mizar so loses an old friend and a new friend at the same time. That being said I don't see Zane losing to Mizar.
Imo Zain should've been the one to return because his nova and infinity are actual cards,cards that can be explained by this very fact. Maybe he utilises XYZ to destroy the XYZ dimension as a way to mock them,in his hell Kaiser ideal he lost respect so maybe Yuya can teach him to respect his opponent or something idk...
Yeah I think a storyline with Zane would have been incredible. I'd like to think that this theory is what happened, but it certainly would have been better if they kept him alive and present

This is such a great theory! I feel like yugioh needs to come out with their version of Pokémon generations where yugioh can show off and flesh out these details that happened or was theorized within the anime or other media.

Yeah I literally play Cyber's because I love Zane as a Character so much. Note I love Duel academy Zane from GX not Hell Kaiser or this one Mentioned in the anime. I wanted to be just like him! He was calm Cool Collective a Brilliant Strategist and he had un shakeable honor. He was literally what everyone at a young age who played Yu-Gi-Oh wanted to be. Some may have pointed in the direction of People like Jaden but honestly he would never make it as a Professional Yu-Gi-Oh player in real life, only people like Zane Alexis and Bastion would. So yeah I Kinda Ranted about this but He is Easily my favorite character in the series and I feel he doesn't deserve the treatment he got overall after he left duel academy and lost to aster and in arc V.

After seeing this video for the first time months ago I came to the conclusion that I’d have loved to have seen a slightly older, battle scarred version of Syrus Truesdale in the Arc V anime. That probably sounds odd I know, but hear me out here...
Ever since I first watched this video it clicked with me that he could’ve been perfect for the Fusion war dynamic. Perhaps further empathising that war has hurt a lot of good people on both sides and showing how war and loss can change even the kindest and most well meaning of people.
I’ve always thought that a vengeful Syrus who witnessed the demise of his brother at the hands of Kite or even better Yuto would have been great. I imagine that while he’d been grieving the loss of his brother he might have even been visited by Leo Akaba and convinced to rejoin the war effort to avenge his fallen brothers death. I mean just imagine him getting mad every time he saw one of Yuto’s counterparts, also Syrus vs Yugo (Roids vs Speedroids)... now THAT would have been a cool duel to see.
To give a clear idea I’m picturing a GX season 4 looking Syrus, but more battle hardened, with his glasses cracked on one side and a scar across one eye... I imagine he’d have been tirelessly hunting and carding duellists from the XYZ dimension in an attempt to bait Yuto/Kite out after what they did, so he’d look very worn down. It could show flashbacks of a sort of friendship between him and Yuri as a nice callback to his relationship with Jaden in GX showing Yuri being perplexed as to how somebody could respect him, but out of friendship rather than fear. It could have even showed Yuri’s character in a different light as well with some flashbacks showing their dynamic together in the past, having Yuri go from not feeling he needed a friend in Syrus to actually enjoying his company. I imagine Alexis would probably mention how ‘’he used to be such a sweet kid before what happened to his brother’’ at some point as well, maybe leading to one of the flashbacks I mentioned.
Perhaps he’d be dawning the same or a similar duel blazer to the one we saw Dark Zane wearing in GX after his fall from grace in the pro leagues.
I know Syrus isn’t the most popular character in the Yugioh Anime, but I think this could’ve been a cool dynamic that they could have added into Arc V for some extra flavour and story telling.

It's a decent idea; certainly would've added much-needed layers to the characters listed. Sure would've been nice if the legacy characters revived were based on "celebrating the legacy" or "fixing past mistakes" or "cool new spins" instead of "I love these guys! @@christopherb501 I can’t agree more. It certainly would have been nice to see more varied cast with a deeper, possibly even darker and more emotional plot than we ultimately ended up getting, but I guess there’s no changing it now.
I’m not sure that this is very likely at this point, but I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed that Konami will get the picture and make a release a deeper and more impactful series or video game somewhere down the line. Honestly I feel like what could really help them out right now is just making a proper video game, perhaps a similar style to that of Jump Force, that could catch people off guard and bring new interest back to the franchise as a whole. Hell... even porting some of their older video games like the Yugioh Tag Force series and/or Yugioh Forbidden Memories to the newer consoles, perhaps in bundles similarly to how Capcom has been re-releasing their games from the Mega-Man series in recent years. I honestly feel like them capitalising on any of these suggestions could help them out a ton, as well as getting them some much needed publicity for and from the series.
Whilst that would be very cool, it seems that the siblings of the legacy character's simply just didn't exist, seeing as Atticus and Hart are never seen in Arc V despite Alexis and Kite being there
I like to think that if Arc-V had gone on long enough they'd have introduced Zane as an antagonist and turned him into a protagonist, through the use of Cyber Dragon Nova and Infinity to symbolise his change of stance. It would also work very nicely in parallel to his stance change in GX, from being a respectable duelist to being an outright monster in GX and going in the complete opposite direction for Arc-V.

It could possible Zane already died from an alternate Yubel type of thing. He’s still legendary. If you remember from GX he was an idol in Duel Academy up until he became Hell Kaiser. They also watched his first pro match against Edo in duel academy. It makes sense.

Arc-V was honestly one of the better ones. Yuya was fine and the plot was great (the ending was rushed and the last 8-10 episodes of Season 3 should've been its own season imo, but overall it was good).
Too bad Axel never appeared in Arc-V, otherwise we would have had more Volcanic support than just Blaze Accelerator Reload...

Honestly, I'm kinda glad that Zane didn't appear in Arc-V. The Gx legacy characters got terrible treatment, so he most likely would have the same fate as Asuka and Edo.

ikr!? Edo/Aster and Asuka/Alexis are two of my favorite characters in GX, but I did not like how Arc-V handled them. I'm glad they left Ryo/Zane out of this.
Alexis/Asuka was handled great up until Yuri took her out. It's a badass moment for Yuri, but they should've used an original character for him to do that fake out reversal thing on. If Yuri and Alexis/Asuka would've dueled with Yuri using his own deck, and if they would've just gave Alexis a "respectful" death in the show, then it'd have been fine.
Edo/Aster I honestly thought was handled fine as is. The only complaint I have is that he used mostly the same cards across all duels - but really, that's a criticism I have with most of the Arc-V cast. I don't want magical BS asspull cards, but I'm not thrilled about the "using the same 10 cards every match" or "using the same 3 card combo to win every match" things they do in the shows. Gimme more variety.

But what they did to Aster was just stupid. Ok, I know these aren't their GX selves and that Aster changed his ways eventually (thank god). But having the character who was all for justice before be into turning people into cards and the whole thing against Yuya's dad and following the professor at all just didn't sit well with me. If GX Aster could have seen what his Arc-V counterpart was doing, I'm sure he would have been disgusted. And the fact that they couldn't even show him win ONE f**king duel was really annoying. When they make characters that just never win, or even almost never win, it's like they are just spitting on them. Same with how Sawatari/Sylvio became a joke. It's like, what is the point? If they're trying to sell me that a character is a powerful duelist, that isn't the way to do it. And Aster and Alexis didn't even get any interaction despite being the only two GX characters in Arc-V, and that was just stupid like it was in GX. I get that Aster is not a popular or probably even a liked character nowadays, but he didn't deserve this.
I wonder if Zane, isn’t alone in being a victim of Kite. It could explain where characters like Hasselberry, Cyrus and Chazz are, dead too. Maybe when Kite targeted Zane, Zane got backup from his little brother, Chazz and Hasselberry. The three tried to take on Kite all at once but Kite beat them all, that mental image is pretty scary to be honest especially since I have a soft spot for Hasselberry(his Dino cards were some of my favourites early on). It’d also explain characters like Axel, Jessie and Jim’s absence maybe they all were victims of Kite, it would certainly make Kite’s feared reputation among the Obelisk Force a lot more valid if Zane was simple the biggest profile duelist he beat.
We just got to see the actual effects of the rush duel cards, all the monsters have soft once per turn effects, and currently only one effect per monster.
We also have spell and trap cards AND AN EXTRA DECK( my bet is that the first extra deck summon either goes to Romin, or she duels someone who uses the extra deck first, then pulls out her own boss)

Okay, I can back this up. Cyber Dragon Nova is how we can prove this. In the actual card game, Cyber Dragon Nova was released about a month before Arc-V aired, so did a lot of other cards that had a lot of level manipulation (See: Cyber Dragon Drei and Cyber Dragon Herz). It's entirely possible that he realized that they were the bad guys, and tried to rebel and got carded as a result. Cyber Dragon Infinity was also released later during the Arc-V anime, and it could have easily gotten a showcase during the time. Your theory is actually sound and valid.
Given how Kurosaki/Shay is only hostile and only actively cards Fusion users that were from Fusion Dimension specifically. Given how even Yuto doesn't go nuts at how Yuzu is using Fusion, it's possible that they know that not all Fusion users are evil. Without any real mention of Syrus/Ryo, it's possible that he had no real connection to anyone before going to Xyz. Since he has an Xyz Evolution with an omni-negate, it's hard to believe that Kaito could have beaten him, with how limited his overall card pool of getting out his Xyz boss monsters is, Kite would have not been that well-equipped to beat him (though admittedly, that would have made his victory all the more impressive). Plus, a lot of the Cipher monsters are Machine monsters (See: Cipher Wing and Cipher Twin Raptor), and Chimeratech can use those enemy machines to bring out a big monster, which makes Kite's victory over him a little less likely.
But a Fusion user with multiple ways of recovering Polymerization and the materials, or even alternate ways of Fusion summoning?- that kind of person has a bigger shot at beating him. Especially a character who can attack a bunch of Special Summoned monsters, nuke the field, alter enemy levels, change enemy attributes, and use enemy monsters as Fusion material. Yuri is likely to have defeated him. Or even Aster/Edo. With how he defeated him pretty soundly back in GX, it's possible that he was the sacrificial lamb (Or I guess the scapegoat) that was sacrificed to prompt the anti-Xyz rhetoric that Fusion used during their invasion.
And with how ruthless Kite was, it's possible that he sees Fusion as irredeemable since they're so willing to attack and card one of their own. Him defeating Kurosaki/Shun and then refusing to card him is possibly because he just realized that he was turning into what he was fighting against. He does decide to help out the Lancers after that initial duel after all, so it's possible that maybe Shay and Yuto were friends with Zane (Maybe making his facade into the real deal), and after seeing that both his old friend, and the guy that his other friend chose to wield his dragon (Dark Rebellion) were fighting Fusion, he opted to go after them to avenge an old rival.

Also this could be true because kite is the only returning cast member from zexal, and it’s possible Zane was meant to serve in the XYZ dimension as a “replacement” character since his new cards created during the Arc-V series run were XYZ monsters.
@@saintvgk7747 Well, there's that, and the fact that in Zexal, characters like Shark, Alito, Quattro, and Trey were all character affected by their interactions with Barrian World/Astral World (or in the case of Shark and Alito, were direct residents of Barrian World). Without those worlds, they don't exist, or at the very least, they wouldn't exist as the characters we'd know them as. Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon was made by harnessing the energies of Astral World, hence why the "true form" of the monster is Number 62: Galaxy-Eyes Prime Photon Dragon. Without Numbers, the characters of Shark, the Arclight family, and the Barrian Emperors don't really exist as we would have normally known them. But Kite _does_ have something unrelated to them, making him the only one who could have realistically appeared. It's hard to imagine a Chronomaly or a Gimmick Puppet deck without Numbers, and it's really hard to think of a way that Quinton's Dyson Sphere deck could have been done without its signature Number. Retrains are a thing, but given how iconic their Numbers are, it's not exactly easy to see them as being useful without them. If anything, without Numbers, those guys were probably among the first to fall since they wouldn't have access to heavy hitters like Shark Drake, Machu Mech, Giant Grinder, Star Cestus, or Dyson Sphere.
Though, it is kinda fun to theorize about what they'd be like in Arc-V and what decks they'd run. I like to imagine that Shark would have a Black Ray Lancer retrain, and have an archetype-exclusive Rank-Up card that paired with another Rank 4 that gained effects depending on whether it had a "Ray Lancer" or a "Shark" Xyz monster as material.

Konami probably doesn't want Zane killed off because of how popular the cyber dragon archetype is.
He's already presumed KIA by Academia here; shouldn't have included that Easter egg if it was that important.
I think Zane maybe tried to help the Heartland, Zane used Xyz monsters (Cyber Dragon Nova and Infinity) .
Academia probably kept quiet, because everyone look up for him.
But then again, Zane didn't really care for a cause, and when he became Hell Kaiser he dueled to crush his enemies. I can go both ways in this theory, he was an unpredictable character.
Edo ,Yuri, Kurosaki, Yuto or Kite has a chance of defeat him.

There’s a couple of one-off cards that fit that criteria, for example Toadally Awesome would’ve probably been used by that Obelisk Blue girl with the frog deck, and then there’s Red-Eyes Flare Metal Dragon that would’ve been used by Aticus. (Even though Joey had Red-Eyes Black Dragon first, Aticus used the Red-Eyes archtype, whereas Joey didn’t.)
There’s also that new Jinzo - Layered monster that would’ve been used by the guy in season 4 with the psycho-style deck (funnily enough, a deck that rivals cyber-style). There is an Xyz version of Dark Armed Dragon which could’ve been used by Chazz. He didn’t use Dark Armed but he did use the other Armed Dragons, so a bit of a stretch. Another loose one would be Magi Magi Magician Gal that could’ve been used by the spirit of Dark Magician Girl in that one episode of GX, as she used a lot of female magicians in her deck.
Ultimately however, these are all just single cards that happen to be a part of somebody’s deck. Your point of Nova and Infinity being some of the few Xyz monsters in an archtype used by a GX character is absolutely true. The closest I could find to match that statement would be those 3 Vampire Xyz monsters, which would’ve been used by Camula. (Again, coincidentally, somebody related to Zane as she was one of the few people to beat him on screen.)

I would’ve forgiven arc v for EVERYTHING if they gave us hell kaiser vs kaito.
Maybe because the new cyber dragon deck was holding xyz monsters and the show was focusing on fusion summoning for duel academy characters, it could have been hilarious if Zane used both fusion and xyz monsters 😅
Kaito is pretty much if not the strongest, at least one of the most strongest YGO rivals, at least as he is in Zexal. So him winning Kaizer wouldn't be surprising, even though he is less op in Arc-V.
Also fun fact, I originally assumed Kaizer would be thw returning character from GX along with Edo before they announced them during Arc-V's airing.

I like the Idea of Zane/Ryo staying "evil" after his underground stuff and him working therefore for Academia, but the only thing that I dont really like is that Cyber Dragon Nova/Infinity are Cyber Dragons instead of Chimeratech Monsters. The Chimeratechs visualized the idea of Dark Zane/Ryo in my opinion, and that these are Cyber Dragons would show me that he somehow learned that the Xyz Dimension is a respect worthy place or something like that. But you can expend that thing into the same results if youre creative enough haha xD

ULGROTHA you seem pretty smart, going out of your way to explain that, so it should be safe to assume you know about ten literary technique called hyperbole, although if you didn’t to summarise it is to claim something obviously false as true in order to exaggerate something. Usually when people describe something as literally being in a certain way it is done with the intention of adding emphasis to the point being made. And to go soft/hard is shorthand language (slang) for the intensity someone puts into an action, where going soft would be taking it easy on someone and going hard would be say summoning an orbital canon to obliterate your opponent because you were so pissed at them, incidentally hitting with enough impact to severely damage a whole stadium raceway.
To this day I'm still pissed that best girl akiza was nowhere to be seen in arc v and the fact that season 3 was rushed and the ending didn't help either still salty to this day man 😤😤😤

To say that I hadn't even remotely considered this or thought about it, I love this theory, and the thought of a Zane vs Kite duel is mouth-watering, even though I prefer Kite's Photon deck to his Cipher one.
Also, I saw a couple of comments saying Zane could never have been a spy, but I would disagree - if we remember GX S3, he was clearly capable of disguising himself, as seen when he infiltrated the Supreme King's castle with Aster & Axel (they were only discovered because the shield deliberately gave Chaos Sorceror an answer that gave away the fact they were spies) and even before that when he was wearing his hooded cloak to conceal his identity. Obviously the legacy characters are not the same as the original articles, but we can see that their personalities are still very similar, such as Crow looking out for the kids, Kite's ruthlessness & Jack's ego.
TL; DR it's not a stretch to suggest Zane was a spy in the XYZ dimension too, especially if he believed strongly enough in the Professor's regime to follow orders.
I just found your channel and this video and it actually makes a lot of sense for Zane. I’d imagine that Zane doesn’t have the Cyber Legacy( CD, CT Dragon, and Cyber End) or the cyber dark series since a maybe they are destroyed or Some other reason. So that’s why he has CD Zwei, Drei, and Vier(2,3,4) CD core having replicas/ new ones made. He definitely would have His other spells and traps but use all the Chimeratech dragons since they are all dark and need “cyber dragon”. He probably even killed Shepard and maybe even Syrus since Syrus definitely wouldn’t have the spine for the war. Zane would have been a complete maniac with probably the highest kill count of all. Also I say Zane doesn’t have the Cyber Legacy because it makes no sense to say “Chimeratech and Gating” are what he’s known for when Cyber End is right there and Arc-V usually makes differences between the counterparts.Its really sad they don’t bring him there, maybe at least a duel bot or someone getting the Z-One treatment and making a person become Zane like Zone did Yusei. It would have been amazing to see Zane ripping people apart.

Kaito probably figured Zane was a spy because any duel Zane was in before the invasion he probably summoned a cyber fusion monster with the effect of cyber dragon nova

Aster was influenced by his dad, Jaden and Sartorius in GX none of whome were in Arc V
Crows main relations came from Yusei
Jack had a fusion in 5DS deck
And so did Alexis in her GX deck
I do find interesting that none of the original protags were in arc V. But my theory on that is they were all wiped out from history due to the world splitting and then time went back to bring back other important figures like jack.

This is probably my favorite theory of yours. If it is true it's a huge letdown that this wasn't a main plot for the XYZ arc.
Okay, now I really wish we saw that Duel.
Although, I personally don't feel like Zane would have died due to carding, but he would have actually died. Because if Arc V's Zane was as crazy as he was in season 2, then I'm confident he would have had Kite Duel him while they both wore electric collars and he would have succumbed to his injuries afterward, and this would help fuel Kite's hatred for Fusion if they turned Duels into the nightmare that is Underground Dueling of GX.
I dont want to think about Zane dying and losing to anyone because Zane always comes out on top. Zane would of beat Yubel but no Jaden had to be the one since he is the main protagonist of yugioh gx
But I like the idea of zane challenging kaito to a duel while wearing shock collars. And after the duel is finished they both collapse and die. That to me would be a more fitting conclusion!
I dont would say zane have to lose it could be possible that he win but the fight was to much for him and he dies by a heart attack (like almost in the fight with yubel or the psy dude) , using his last strength to make his very last move, win, smile, fall to the ground and die, leave his opponent pissed as hell because he will never get a revenge to win against zane.
I’m honestly glad that he’s not in yugioh arc v because I would hate to see him get bested by say yuri or someone like that when he’s got a way better deck and only would lose because plot armour also he would have to lose to Yuya as well and I would fucking hate to see that because if it was a real duel ZANE WOULD DESTROY HIM

Knowing we may never see Zane again kinda hurts, he's one of me favourite characters from any show. I love your theory, though it's sad to think he may have reverted back to his Hell Kaiser phase. It's not the craziest thing. People have made entire plot-changing theories about other media based on one line or even one word.
The fact that in the one of the scrapped ideas for Arc-V had Zane sent to XYZ Dimension as a spy for Duel Academy along with Dennis, Johan(maybe) along with Aster but met Yusho from his meeting with him he realized the error of his ways and he reached out to Aster in order to hopefully defect Duel Academy alongside him and I bet Johan did too because he loved entertaining the crowd like Dennis but saw the horrors of DA and decided to fight back against them,I think Syrus was willing to defect along with his big bro.
PS: I got these from Sharkmesiah101 as he had a friend who told him about this
Also Jaden was going to comeback as the Supreme King and was the one who warned Alexis about DA actions before he was captured and forced to Duel innocent Heartland Citizens and couldn't take it anymore to the point that somehow a Dark force triggered his transformation and DA took advantage of that and used him as a weapon of war, and I bet that the Doctor implanted a parasite on him😢, and said Dark Force was going to trigger Z-arc's return😢too
I think Zane was one of the few chosen to infiltrate the XYZ Dimension, where he like Dennis learned how to use XYZ Monsters. And he had been found out by people of that Dimension and was eventually taken down

I like to write little "fan-made" duels between characters (with real cards, if possible), but with anime support if there weren't enough irl cards. It'd be REALLY fun to write a Kaito-vs-Zane duel (Ciphers with the anime cards and Zane with the non-GX Cyber Dragon support, given how much there is now)

3:39 That's indisputable, actually. You know the scene with Yuto and Yugo in the Xyz Dimension from, I think it was episode 18 or 21? According to Katsumi Ono, that was meant to be part of episode 1.
Ryo had prolly passed away way before Arc V started. I doubt Kaito would be a match against him and if Academia says he is indeed legendary, then he must be beyond his level. Like the other said if he died of a heart attack, then yah it is a high probability since he'd be too overpowered to take on most of Arc V level duelists.
Even then Cyber Dragon Nova made it just as a cameo and it is likely that his cards were passed on to others in Standard Dimension after splitting.

Probably a heart attack, again. If he's using a dark cyber dragon like Rampage, I can see him also using Cyberdarks. I can envision him going big and dying before the final blow. This would probably leave Kaito's rage un-quenched . Hell, or even better: Ryo easily takes out Faker, while hunting for Kaito, then kidnaps Hart. During a duel with Kaito he backs him into a corner with Infinity and Cyberdark Dragon. Kaito is able to turn the tables after Hart dies, giving him the last of his power, allowing him to somehow summon Neo-Galaxy Eyes then attacking for game.
I guess he did have a good heart may he rest in piece

See I could see Aster being the one who carded Zane. Zane could have seen what the Fusion dimension was doing and ended up taking up the XYZ cards against Aster but ultimately lost and was carded. Aster then passes the blame to the resistance as a rallying cry for the others from Duel academy to fight harder and the reason they hate kite is cause he basically is their leader so they figure that he's to blame.
IMAGINE A ZANE VS KITE DUEL THAT WOULD BE AMAZING ONE OF THE BEST DUELS IN THE WHOLE SERIES

Yugioh seems to have a lot of Dimensions and what seems like multiple universes.

What if Zane attacked Xyz dimension with the invasion but then he found out Nova and Infinity and abandoned everything and attacked everyone. So Proffessor discarded him before everyone noticed that he gone crazy with power of Xyz. The reason that Proffessor did not used Zane because he told others that he died in the Xyz dimension and he become too unstable to use.
Btw shay defeated denis in the synchro dimension
Small thing, but it makes sense how the monsters mentioned on the board are rampage dragon and gatling dragon instead of cyber end and cyberdark because he gave that deck to Syrus at the end of GX so wouldn't have used them in the war for the fusion dimension
Something else that could have happened is Zane saw how wrong it was to take out xyz and was carded before anyone could find out so he could be used to inspire others to be loyal

Long Pham kaito was never revived in arc v. arc v is placed inside a different universe than zexal. all the yugioh anime are inside a multiverse.

However Gatling dragon is the fusion card of Barrel and Blowback dragon respectively. Meaning Gatling dragon is Bandit Keith card. But yes weird choice.
