I believe that this doctor working as a carer will make her a better doctor. I’ve been a nurse for 10 years, and I’ve realized that many doctors who have no other experience in healthcare tend to be demeaning and rude to nurses and patient care assistants . I now believe that through this experience, this will make her a better doctor, a more understanding doctor, and a more respectful doctor to all members of the healthcare team.

I have had a similar experience, so I know where our doctor is coming from👌I ended up not continuing with my registration. Became a healthcare worker and then a Healthcare Administrator in a specialist forensic psychiatric hospital. Psychiatry was my go to specialty while in medical school, and I get to be a part of my patient's recovery process as a Patient Liaison Officer. The salary is not much compared to a docti's salary, but I get time to be in the lives of my 4 kids, and that makes my proud and 100% fulfilled!
As single mum of 4 with no support from their father or family, I chose not to practice and have time for my children with no regrets. This was 7 years ago. Now, my first is 21, in Public service (Conservative councillorship aspirant and student of the University of Cambridge), my second, 19, is an aircraft engineering student and in the Royal Navy. My last two daughters will continue in the medical profession in a few years by God's grace. No shame in stepping back to take a leap forward. Your story us an inspiration as many docuors who end up not getting registered with the GMC live in shame and hiding. No need for all that.

This happens a lot here in the UK. I remember a medical doctor from Nigeria who started working as a cleaner in the hospital in Scotland. He then progressed to work as a care assistant and now after many years,he is a senior consultant surgeon. Glad to connect with you here bell on for more.

@@NanelleGriseldaGood for her and the pathway she took. I knew a Nigerian trained MD her in Canada, who did his RN degree, after working for a few years, he received a residency position. He is now working a registered Physician in Ontario, Canada (getting in the Canadian system for physicians is very difficult).

It’s a matter of getting the opportunity to be in these, or those countries in a illegal way you can chase for anything. And you won’t ll achieve it. Age is nothing in Western World.

Alot of people had to start somewhere. If you dont pass a few exams to practice overseas, you cant just start working as a doctor. It's just a stepping stone. More wins for you. 🎉
Exactly ! When you are a medical professional and relocate to the UK or US, you would need to take some board exams to qualify to work in that same profession; meanwhile you would need to earn money to support yourself, so you do care work in the interim. Nothing wrong with that.
I can say nothing is impossible if you keep your focus. My sister in-law worked briefly as a career while preparing for her medical license exam. Now she runs 2 practices in Canada where she employs doctors after qualifying as a GP in the UK.

I work with a medical doctor from Nigeria turned support worker to begin with. I was a support worker. This Nigerian doctor was very humble, very nice guy. He worked hard for his medical doctor qualification update courses and exams for over a year. There were times he was very frustrated, but in the end he was successful, now a medical doctor. He had to start from less in the UK, going with patience and courage to go through ups and downs.
I will be proud of her when she return to Ghana and use her experiences gained abroad to improve the heath care and practices in Ghane
Pride comes before fall. I'm so proud of this Ghanaian sister. Humble yourself when you find yourself in a different situation..

There's always a beginning 😊and I believe she will scale through and finally get to her dream job. It is not easy getting license to practice as a Doctor whenever you move abroad but she is brave and I love it. Nanelle I trust you 😊to always deliver the best and yes there is nothing wrong in working as a carer it's still much better than suffering in ×××× . People need to understand this if you get the opportunity start as a carer and as time goes by move up . May God help us in our pursuit for a better life...

It is a stepping stone! Me worked for five years as a Pharmacist in Nigeria and have been working as a HCA with the NHS and I still trying find my path! There is dignity in Labour and we all have to start somewhere and our beginning matters!

I am a subscriber watching from Nigeria. I am about moving to the Uk for my Masters this September 2023, but for some reasons am so uncertain and skeptical.
Life is so terrible here in Nigeria for me and my Husband but the state of the country is affecting everyone. However what’s causing my uncertainty is this 12 point conservative law. They say they haven’t been put in place. But I want you to shed more light on this
Point based system means if you have certain qualifications you get certain points and if your total points exceed the threshold they set then you qualify.
E.g. if someone is not a graduate then they won't get the point for educational qualification.

It’s tough relocating to a foreign country. You have to change your mindset and do whatever is ethically possible to help you survive. I’m in the U. S. And many people come here with doctorates from other countries but they have to be willing to start from the bottom while structuring themselves. I’ve been sharing this on my channel as well.

Am happy for my sister for being truthful to herself. Most people think with your certificate as MD, you can work as MD in Europe and Uk. It doesn't work that way. You have to do some extra courses

This is when I don’t want to listen when comparing about money. We spent GBP in the Uk and now Ghana money. Again most Diasporas run two homes, one in Africa and in the U.K.
